    Tourism and sustainable practices in highest-level sailing regattas

    The sailing sports tourism is heterogenous, organizing sailing regattas can help in counteracting destination seasonality, and tourist awareness about the importance of the tourist product sustainability is increasing. Despite their natural setting, these competitions demand specific infrastructure, significant equipment, and experienced sailors to ensure successful execution. The pro- duction and use of sailing equipment involve substantial amounts of toxic substances. Considering that these events unfold in natural environments, it becomes crucial to prioritize the principles of sustainable development when organizing them. A study was conducted to address sailing competitions sus- tainability, analyzing sustainable practices already adopted by regatta organ- izers and competitive teams. It is necessary to enhance the sustainability of future sports events and raise the awareness of the importance of sustainable practices among spectators, competitors, and other participants.Jadralni športni turizem je heterogen, organizacija jadralnih regat lahko pomaga pri preprečevanju sezonskosti destinacij, ozaveščenost turistov o pomenu trajnosti turističnega proizvoda pa se povečuje. Kljub naravnemu okolju ta tekmovanja zahtevajo posebno infrastrukturo, pomembno opremo in izkušene jadralce, da se zagotovi uspešna izvedba. Proizvodnja in uporaba jadralne opreme vključujeta znatne količine strupenih snovi. Glede na to, da se ti dogodki odvijajo v naravnem okolju, je ključnega pomena, da se pri njihovi organizaciji da prednost načelom trajnostnega razvoja. Izvedena je bila študija za obravnavo trajnosti jadralnih tekmovanj, v kateri so analizirali trajnostne prakse, ki jih že uporabljajo organizatorji regat in tekmovalne ekipe. Treba je okrepiti trajnost prihodnjih športnih dogodkov in ozaveščati gledalce, tekmovalce in druge udeležence o pomenu trajnostnih praks

    In recent years, the development of digital skills has been encouraged at all levels of education. For this purpose, innovative pedagogies and approaches aimed at fostering learners’ active participation, critical skills, and autonomy have been proposed. In this paper, we focus on the benefits of using the inquiry-based approach (IBL) for developing education students’ digital skills. A design-based study was conducted with a group of students (n=38) in the primary education study programme with a view to identifying students’ attitudes towards IBL as well as their experiences and challenges encountered in the process. The design-based scenario followed the 5E inquiry-based instructional model (engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation). Data for this study was gathered through an online survey, a focus group discussion, and through an in-depth analysis of the IBL scenario. The results indicate that students hold positive attitudes towards IBL. The most significant challenge identified was the application of critical thinking skills to locate and evaluate relevant research sources
