Educational Disparities in Ancient Japan : From the Viewpoint of Educational Sociology
Get PDFThis paper has reviewed ancient Japanese education, especially educational disparities, with reference to the perspective of educational sociology. In this research, it was confirmed that even in ancient Japan, there were "socialization" and "selection/distribution functions," which are the functions of education, and that there were class and regional disparities. In addition, Daigaku Besso（大学別曹） was established as an 'educational strategy' by aristocrats in order to reproduce themselves as a result of the meritocracy becoming stronger after the Enryaku era. We examine the life-saving rates considering the driving distance of fire stations and emergency hospital. We propose the life-saving potential indicator of the driving conveying time of the urgent medical institution of an ambulance. In this paper, the above framework is applied to residence induction area of Nagano Urban City. In the experimental study, we verified location of fire stations and first-aid station affects a limit time to life-saving. Manufacturing and mechanical properties of spark plasma sintered SiC/VGCF composite ceramics
Get PDFIn order to produce a carbon nano-fiber reinforced composite ceramics SiC/VGCF, 0-12.5mass% (2.5mass% step) of VGCF is added to the SiC matrix, and using the spark plasma sintering (SPS) method, it was sintered at 1700-1750°C for about 11 minutes under a mold pressure of 40 MPa and evaluated for its properties. A relative density of 99.8% or more was obtained at the range from 2.5 to 10.0 mass%VGCF. The bending strength showed the maximum strength of 528 MPa at 5 mass%VGCF, which was 1.11 times higher than 474MPa at 0%VGCF. The fracture toughness 5.0 MPa･m1/2 at 5 mass%VGCF was improved by 1.11 times from 4.52 MPa･m1/2 at 0%VGCF. The electrical conductivity showed 0.12 to 2318.0 S/m, which greatly improved in proportion to the VGCF content.departmental bulletin pape
Mechanical and electrical properties of hot-pressed TiSi2-WSi2 composite ceramics
Get PDFTiSi2 and WSi2 ceramics have high electrical conductivity and good oxidation resistance. The composite ceramics of them were sintered by hot-pressing method at 1170-1670℃×40min under mold-pressure of 28.3MPa in Ar atmospher. Their properties were examined in the TiSi2-WSi2 system with compositional change of 0.2mol step. As a result, the ceramics showed bulk density of 3423-9347kg/m3, relative density 83.3-94.8%. Vickers hardness 4.59-14.7GPa, flexural strength 136-280MPa, fracture toughness(KIC) 1.83-3.28MPa･m1/2, Young's modulus 170-412GPa and electrical conductivity 0.63-6.13MS/m. The electrical conductivity is below 1MS/m because of the crystal disorder in the composite, contrary to expectations.departmental bulletin pape
Active Microbial Community in Anaerobic Digesters utilizing PMA (Propidium Monoazide)- and RNA-based 16S rRNA sequencing
Get PDFPropidium monoazide(PMA) reagent and RNA besides DNA were utilized to characterize the active microbial community of 5 full-scale anaerobic digesters via 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. Beta diversity analysis showed PMAand RNA-based sequencing caused a drastic change in the community composition and the relative abundance of microbial members, respectively, compared with DNA-based community profile. PMAand RNA-based profiles indicated archaea belonging to Methanosaeta and bacteria belonging to Bacteroidales were physiologically active microorganisms in all anaerobic digesters. It was suggested Treponema and the W22 genus were viable in four mesophilic digesters.departmental bulletin pape
