Effects of dietary <em>Lactobacillus rhamnosus</em> supplementation on growth performance, antioxidant properties, and gut microbiota alterations on Chinese mitten crab, <em>Eriocheir Sinensis</em>
Numerous studies have demonstrated that Lactobacillus rhamnosus exerts growth-promoting effects in animal husbandry. However, its role in the growth performance of the Chinese mitten crab remains inadequately evaluated. In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential effects of L. rhamnosus on the growth performance, intestinal function, and microenvironment of the Chinese mitten crab. Crabs with an average weight of 0.80 ± 0.12 g were divided into four groups, with the experimental groups receiving dietary supplements of L. rhamnosus at concentrations of 0% (C group), 2% (S-1 group), 5% (S-2 group), and 8% (S-3 group), each containing 10⁹ CFU/g added to the basal diet. The results indicated that the final body weight (FBW), weight gain rate (WGR), and specific growth rate (SGR) of crabs in the S-1 and S-2 groups were significantly higher than those in the control group (P L. rhamnosus. Principal coordinates analysis revealed distinct microbiota compositions between the groups. The alpha diversity indices, including ACE, Chao1, Shannon, and Sobs, were enhanced after dietary supplementation, while the Simpson index showed no significant differences. Statistical analysis demonstrated that including L. rhamnosus in the diet increased the abundance of Proteobacteria and Firmicutes while reducing the abundance of Actinobacteriota in the intestines compared to the control group. Additionally, the abundance of Paracoccus and Thiothrix in the crabs' intestines was elevated. In conclusion, the dietary inclusion of L. rhamnosus improved growth performance, enhanced intestinal microflora, and bolstered non-specific immunity and antioxidant functions in the Chinese mitten crab
Development of a Lateral Flow Strip-Based Recombinase-Aided Amplification for Active <em>Streptococcus dysgalactiae</em> emerging in channel catfish (<em>Ictalurus punctatus</em>)
Streptococcus dysgalactiae has become an important pathogen affecting mammals and fish (especially farmed fish). The development of a rapid, accurate, and sensitive diagnostic method will aid in the prevention of S. dysgalactiae infection. In this study, a method combining recombinase-aided amplification and a lateral flow dipstick (RAA-LFD) was developed to detect active S. dysgalactiae infection. The RAA-LFD detection was based on the ISP gene of S. dysgalactiae as the target, which could be accomplished with the lowest detection limit of 1.002×10^2^ pg/μL reaction under optimal reaction conditions of 39 °C for 15 min. RAA-LFD and conventional PCR were used to detect 50 experimental samples invaded by S. dysgalactiae disease materials. The results showed that the positive concordance rate of the two methods was 97.6%, the negative concordance rate was 90.0%, and the total concordance rate was 98.0%. Compared with conventional PCR, the Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) of RAA-LFD was 0.950, and the sensitivity and specificity were 100% and 90%, respectively. Basic Grammar of Khamti Shan
This paper presents a basic delineation of the Khamti Shan grammar and provides language data to support fundamental aspects of its morphosyntax. This Shan variety of Tai Khamti is a sub-group whose speakers live in Myanmar, distinguishing them from the more widely known and studied Tai Khamti group from Northeast India. I limit the scope of the descrip-tion to the Khamti variety found in Myanmar. The data used is collected from the Khamti people over the course of 15 years while working closely with them in language develop-ment endeavors, and it includes a small interlinearized natural text with audio recording. While certain attention is given to issues of grammaticalization where warranted, the overall goal is to provide a fundamental understanding of the language from which to do further in-depth research. Evolution and Factors Influencing the Spatial Patterns of Fisheries and Aquaculture Products Trade within RCEP Countries: A Complex Network Analysis
This study aims to make visible and investigate changes in the patterns of trade in fisheries and aquaculture products, which are heavily traded and of high importance for food security in many Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries. The study uses fisheries and aquaculture products trade data from 2002 to 2022 and applies a complex network analysis to unveil the trade network of fisheries and aquaculture products within the RCEP region. It analyzes the topological structure and spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the trade network, and utilizes QAP model to further examine the main factors influencing the characteristics of the fisheries and aquaculture products trade network. The study finds: (1) The density of the fisheries and aquaculture products trade network in the RCEP region has significantly increased, exhibiting "small-world" characteristics. With the increasing degree of trade integration, there is still much room for improvement in the cooperation and development of fisheries and aquaculture products trade; (2) The network displays a pronounced core-periphery structure, with China and Japan consistently occupying a central position in the RCEP region's fisheries and aquaculture products trade network; (3) Economic size, comparative advantage, foreign dependence degree, per capita arable land area, contiguity, and institutional quality are significant factors affecting the relationships and trade volume among countries in the fisheries and aquaculture products trade network
