Assessing the impact of the new mexico cable car on air pollution
The impact of traffic on air quality has prompted many cities to implement policies such as driving and parking
restrictions, congestion fees, or investing in public transport infrastructure. This paper focuses on the effects on
pollution levels of a new cable car system in Mexico City, a very polluted megalopoly. This cable car system
provides transportation to historically marginalized communities situated in a mountainous area at an altitude
high enough to make metro connectivity impossible. The study uses official NO2 level data to estimate a Diff-inDiff model. The results show a drop in NO2 levels of approximately 13 % not only in the stations closest to the
Cablebus, but also in areas located further away. Our results suggest that the potential environmental benefits of
new green transport infrastructures should be taken into account by policymakers when making decisions related
to public transit systems.Open Access funding was provided through the CRUE-CSIC agreement with Elsevier. Juan Prieto Rodriguez reports that financial support

Mechanical Beam Steering Reflectarray Antennas Using Focal Arc Geometries: Performance and Limitations
EuCAP (2025. Stockholm, Sweden)This paper presents a parametric study on passive, mechanically steerable reflectarray (RA) antennas using a tilted focal arc configuration. The objective is to examine the trade-offs in designing compact RA systems capable of steering beams over a wide angular range while minimizing scan losses. Multiple RA designs at 29.5 GHz are evaluated, featuring varying degrees of compactness and steering ranges with highly uniform gain across the steering range. Performance is assessed in terms of gain and aperture efficiency, highlighting the effects of focal ratio and steering range on these metrics. A prototype antenna is also manufactured and measured, validating the simulation results with a demonstrated scan loss of only 0.5 dB over a 90-degree range and a maximum gain of 28.2 dBi. The findings provide insights into the design compromises required for passive, mechanically steerable RA systems, offering guidelines for optimizing such antennas for mm-Wave applications. This work was supported in part by MICIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 within the projects
