dedicado a un curso y nivel distintos, concretamente Years 10, 11, 12 y 13. Todas
adolescentes. This dissertation is built upon a lesson plan for the Spanish as a Foreign Language
subject (ELE), which is based on the exploitation of a recent film as a educational
resource. To elaborate the plan, an exhaustive review has been conducted over
outnumbered studies, different lesson plans based on cinema and several official
documents. Furthermore, a close observation of the groups where the plan would
be implemented has been carried out, and a survey on cinema habits has been
elaborated, addressed to students.
The resulting lesson plan is composed of four parts, each of which is aimed to a
different year with a specific level, concretely to Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. All these
parts keep cinema as a central subject and seek for dealing with linguistic and
sociocultural aspects as well. The contextualisation would take place in a group of
students from a state school in United Kingdom who are between 14 and 18, in the
mid-adolescence. The chosen film is Pedro Almodóvar’s Madres paralelas or
Parallel Mothers (2021), which deals with topics such as early maternity, sexual
consent and identity, both at an individual and a social level, the latter dealt with
through historical memory.
The theoretical framework also results in a chart which relates and compiles the
objectives and contents corresponding to the four aimed years to elaborate the
lesson plan. These are subtracted from the Common European Framework of
Reference or CEFR (2020), the Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes or PCIC
(1997-2022), The National Curriculum in England (2014) and the specifications for
the GCSE and the A-Levels exams. In sum, this dissertation aims to raising
awareness for both teachers and students about the multiple advantages of
introducing cinema as a source to deal with cross-sectional matters in the Spanish
subject with teenagers
Comparative Life Cycle Assessment of Green Sand Casting and Low Pressure Die Casting for the production of self-cleaning AlMg3-TiO2 Metal Matrix Composite
The growth in the use of novel materials, as it is the case of the Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs), is producing a positive impact in production processes, allowing to obtain final products with improved functionalities, such as an increase of the strength-to-weight ratio, or enhancement of the mechanical properties of the material, minimizing as well the environmental impacts and production costs without compromising the required technical properties. To determine and compare the environmental impact of different processes employing these materials, this paper provides a comparative analysis of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), under ISO 14040:2006 framework and European ILCD guidelines, of two different manufacturing technologies, Green Sand Casting (GSC) and Low Pressure Die Casting (LPDC), for the particular case of a self-cleaning doorknob, produced by an aluminium alloy reinforced with hard TiO2 nanoparticles, that confers special characteristics to the composite, such as an increase of the hardness value and tensile strength, a high wear resistance, a good chemical stability, and antibacterial properties. The results show a slight difference between both technologies in terms of kg CO2 eq. emitted, with just a 3,16 % variation, where GSC emissions are 13,098 kg, whereas 12,684 kg are released from LPDC. In addition, an economic analysis was performed, showing a 17 % cost reduction in case of LPDC. This study presents for the first time a comparative Life Cycle Assessment of GSC and LPDC, when employing new nanocomposite materials, contributing with novel datasets and meaningful insights to improve the state of the art in the field, serving as well as a support for manufacturers in decision making process involving the use of these technologies. This research has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (Grant Agreement No. 826312) in the context of the LightMe project. Modul III.8. Cerebralna paraliza
Cerebral palsy (CPI) is one of the most common major disabilities in child development.
It causes significant physical disability in childhood. The clinical manifestations
of this disease will depend on the extent and location of the brain injury, as well
as the ability of the brain to adapt to it. PCI is classified according to the clinical
manifestations of the motor disorder, the brain structures involved, the period in which
the injuries occur, and the severity of the type of PCI. The approach of these children often requires attention by a multidisciplinary team
since these children have complex medical care needs.La paralisi cerebrale infantile (PCI) è una delle disabilità maggiori più comuni nello

Klasifikacija poremećaja prilagođena je kliničkim manifestacijama motoričkih poremećaja, zahvaćenosti moždanih struktura kao i drugim problemima povezanim s ovom dječjom patologijom.“Specialized and updated training on supporting advance technologies for early childhood education and care professionals and graduates”, eEarlyCare-T, reference 2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000032661, is co-financed by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, line KA220 Strategic Partnerships Scholar associations
Targets, Mechanisms and Cytotoxicity of Half-Sandwich Ir(III) Complexes Are Modulated by Structural Modifications on the Benzazole Ancillary Ligand
Cancers are driven by multiple genetic mutations but evolve to evade treatments targeting
specific mutations. Nonetheless, cancers cannot evade a treatment that targets mitochondria, which
are essential for tumor progression. Iridium complexes have shown anticancer properties, but
they lack specificity for their intracellular targets, leading to undesirable side effects. Herein we
present a systematic study on structure-activity relationships of eight arylbenzazole-based Iridium(III)
complexes of type [IrCl(Cp*)], that have revealed the role of each atom of the ancillary ligand in the
physical chemistry properties, cytotoxicity and mechanism of biological action. Neutral complexes,
especially those bearing phenylbenzimidazole (HL1 and HL2), restrict the binding to DNA and
albumin. One of them, complex 1[C,NH-Cl], is the most selective one, does not bind DNA, targets
exclusively the mitochondria, disturbs the mitochondria membrane permeability inducing proton
leak and increases ROS levels, triggering the molecular machinery of regulated cell death. In
mice with orthotopic lung tumors, the administration of complex 1[C,NH-Cl] reduced the tumor
burden. Cancers are more vulnerable than normal tissues to a treatment that harnesses mitochondrial
dysfunction. Thus, complex 1[C,NH-Cl] characterization opens the way to the development of new
compounds to exploit this vulnerabilityWe acknowledge the “la Caixa” Foundation (LCF/PR/PR12/11070003), Ministerio de Ciencia Innovación y Universidades-FEDER (RTI2018-102040-B-100) and Junta de Castilla y León-FEDER (BU305P18) for financial support. Electrodeposition of Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) Nanoparticles on Monocrystalline Silicon
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2
) has attracted great attention for its unique chemical and
physical properties. The applications of this transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) range from
supercapacitors to dye-sensitized solar cells, Li-ion batteries and catalysis. This work opens new
routes toward the use of electrodeposition as an easy, scalable and cost-effective technique to perform
the coupling of Si with molybdenum disulfide. MoS2 deposits were obtained on n-Si (100) electrodes
by electrochemical deposition protocols working at room temperature and pressure, as opposed to
the traditional vacuum-based techniques. The samples were characterized by X-ray Photoelectron
Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and
Rutherford Back Scattering (RBS)
Antimicrobial Effect of Simira ecuadorensis Extracts and Their Impact on Improving Shelf Life in Chicken and Fish Products
The objective of this work was to evaluate the antimicrobial potential of different extracts of
Simira ecuadorensis, a characteristic plant of Ecuador, and to validate its potential as a food preservative.
Four extracts referred to as ethanol, ethanol-water (50:50 v/v), spray-dried, and freeze-dried were
obtained under different processes. Initially, their antimicrobial activities were evaluated against a
wide group of microorganisms consisting of 20 pathogenic and spoilage microbial strains found in
foods through the agar diffusion method. Then, the extracts with the best yields and antimicrobial
properties against microorganisms of greatest interest were selected to determine their effect on
model foods preserved under normal commercial conditions through challenge tests. Spray-dried
and ethanol-water extracts were tested for their ability to inhibit C. jejuni in chicken model products,
where is a common pathogen and Shew. putrefaciens in fish model products as it is a spoilage
microorganism frequently found in fish. One solid and one liquid were chosen as model foods:
burger and broth, respectively. Campylobacter jejuni and Shewanella putrefaciens were effectively
inhibited by the four extracts with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 80 mg/mL. Bacillus
cereus, Yersinia enterocolitica, Clostridium perfringens, and Leuconostoc mesenteroides were also inhibited
by ethanolic extract. The ethanol-water extract showed greater antimicrobial activity in fish products,
whereas spray-dried extract had low growth inhibition of C. jejuni in chicken burgers; however, it
was quite effective on C. jejuni in broth. The spray-dried extract significantly decreased the pH of the
chicken burgers, while the ethanolic extract had a slight impact on the pH of the fish burgers. The
presence of antibacterial effects revealed that the S. ecuadorensis extracts could be potentially used in
food preservation and as a natural antimicrobial
