    No full text
Purpose – This study aims to examine the mediating role of happiness management and brand pride in the relationship between human resource practices (HRPs) and self-perceived job performance in Ibero-American organisations. Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative cross-sectional design was used with 408 participants. Data were analysed using covariance-based structural equation modelling to assess the direct and indirect relationships proposed in the theoretical model. Findings – The results confirm that HRPs positively influence both happiness management and brand pride, but not performance directly. In contrast, both happiness management and brand pride significantly affect job performance. Furthermore, a marginal mediation of happiness management is also observed in the relationship Downloaded from http://www.emerald.com/mrjiam/article-pdf/doi/10.1108/MRJIAM-09-2025-1812/11276090/mrjiam-09-2025-1812en.pdf by Universidad de Cadiz, Dr. Ripoll on 06 March between HRPs and performance (p =0.051), which suggests a near-significant emotional mechanism. Significant mediations of brand pride and happiness management are also found between pride and performance. Originality/value – The study provides novel evidence in the Ibero-American context by integrating four constructs into a single explanatory model, extending social exchange theory from an emotional perspective. It highlights that happiness management constitutes a management strategy and an ethical and cultural responsibility for building more human and sustainable organisations. Practical implications include promoting emotionally intelligent communication, symbolic recognition practices and a culture that fosters employee pride and well-being.

    No full text

3D-printable ionic liquid formulations for filler-free, transparent ion-conducting soft materials

    No full text
This work presents a family of photocurable ionic liquids (pILs) based on a polymerizable methacrylate anion and readily available organic cations, designed for vat photopolymerization (VP) of soft ion-conducting networks. The pILs were synthesized by straightforward ion exchange, providing liquid salts that are fully compatible with commercial acrylate resins and enable filler-free 3D printing of transparent ionic polymers. By systematically mapping the resin compositions as a function of the total acrylate content and the fraction of crosslinking species, a clear printability window was identified, allowing prediction of the maximum printable ionic liquid concentration from the molecular weight of the chosen cation. Mechanical properties were shown to be governed primarily by network architecture, with imidazolium-based systems displaying linear correlations between stiffness and crosslinking density, while tetraalkylammonium cations introduced exponential softening due to their plasticizing effect. In contrast, ionic conductivity was largely dictated by cation size, hydrophobicity, and charge shielding, enabling conductivity values in the 10–6–10–4 S/cm range without the need for conductive fillers. These results demonstrate a chemically simple and generalizable approach to obtain printable, filler-free ion-conducting materials, opening opportunities for applications in antistatic coatings, electrostatic discharge protection, flexible and stretchable sensors, and low-voltage energy harvesting devices

Terapia Psicosexual en la Eyaculación Retardada Situacional Idiosincrática: Estudio de un Caso

    No full text
Delayed ejaculation (DE) is a relatively uncommon male sexual dysfunction and remains insufficiently studied in clinical literature. This article reports on the psychosexual therapeutic approach employed in a rare case of primary, situational, and idiosyncratic DE. Clinical assessment revealed that the patient was only able to achieve ejaculation following arousal when he exited the bed and engaged in genital stimulation by rubbing his penis against the floor. A structured intervention grounded in psychosexual couples therapy was implemented. Across eight sessions, the couple was actively involved in therapeutic exercises. The therapeutic goal was to gradually transfer the conditions for ejaculation to the shared sexual setting. Initially, ejaculation was attempted on a hard slab placed on the bed, followed using a towel atop the slab to introduce new tactile stimuli, and subsequently by involving the partner’s hand positioned between the towel and the slab. Individually, the patient was instructed to engage in standing masturbation using the sink surface, followed by a transition to a latex vaginal simulator. To enhance arousal, the use of an anal vibrator was later introduced. Once successful ejaculation was achieved using the latex device in a standing position, the next step involved simulating coitus by masturbating while the partner was positioned in a receptive posture on a table, transitioning to vaginal penetration immediately prior to climax. The final phase of the intervention involved vaginal penetration in the missionary position, with concurrent anal vibrator stimulation provided by the partner. This graduated desensitization and reconditioning strategy ultimately enabled the patient to ejaculate intravaginally

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed : sleep duration moderates the association between adolescent trait aggression and observed aggressive behaviour

    No full text
Introduction: Prior research suggests that insufficient sleep can increase aggressive behaviour in adolescents. However, few studies have employed controlled designs, but none have incorporated objective measures of aggression. Moreover, the potential moderating role of sleep in the relationship between trait aggression and aggressive behaviour remains unexplored. This study addressed these gaps by examining whether sleep duration and quality moderate the association between trait aggression and objectively measured aggressive behaviour in adolescents. We hypothesised that adolescents higher in trait aggression would be more sensitive to poor sleep. Method: Thirty-four adolescent female participants spent one night in the Flinders University Sleep and Psychology Lab. Sleep duration was assessed using a consumer-grade sleep-tracking wearable, and sleep quality was self-reported. The following morning, participants underwent a noxious aggression provocation paradigm, after which behavioural aggression was assessed using a modified Hot Sauce Paradigm, measured via the weight of allocated wasabi paste. Trait aggression was measured using the Buss–Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ). Results: Sleep duration significantly moderated the relationship between trait aggression and aggressive behaviour, with shorter sleep predicting greater aggression among participants higher in trait aggression (R2change = 0.11, p = 0.03). No such moderating effect was observed for self-reported sleep quality. Discussion: These findings suggest that adolescents high in trait aggression may be particularly susceptible to the behavioural consequences of shorter sleep. Ensuring adequate sleep could, therefore, be especially important for reducing aggression in this subgroup. This study extends prior research by demonstrating the moderating role of objectively measured sleep duration on aggression using a controlled design and a behavioural outcome measure, offering new insights for both theoretical models of aggression and the development of targeted, sleep-based interventions for at-risk youth.Ungdomars sömn, kompisar och sociala medier: En multimetodstudi

Inledning : 10 år med regionala kollektivtrafikmyndigheter

    No full text

    No full text

The efficacy of parenting interventions for forced migrant families on child internalizing and externalizing symptoms, parental self-efficacy, and parental competence : A systematic review and meta-analysis

    No full text
Forced migration has reached unprecedented levels worldwide. Involuntarily migration creates stressors for families that require systematic action at a societal level. Our premise is that parenting programmes have an untapped potential to enhance psychosocial health among parents and children. The aim of this study, therefore, was to review existing studies to evaluate the efficacy of preventive parenting programmes for parents who were refugees, asylum seekers or internally displaced. We included 20 publications from 3 electronic databases (Ovid MEDLINE, Ovid PsycINFO and Web of Science Core Collection): 16 on parenting interventions (13 original trials, N = 1191) and 4 on combined interventions (parents and youth, N = 1284). We compared a range of outcomes including child internalizing and externalizing symptoms, as well as parental competence (positive/negative parenting), self-efficacy, well-being and mental health/psychological distress. Between-group analyses indicated less externalizing behaviour (Hedge's g = 0.43, p < 0.05, k = 2) at post measurement for parents participating in the interventions, compared with those in the control conditions, as well as enhanced positive parenting strategies (g = 0.89, p < .01, k = 2), self-efficacy (g = 1.94, p < .001, k = 2) and parental psychological distress (g = 0.67, p < .05, k = 4). Within-group analyses of pre and post measurements supported that parents participating in the interventions reported improvements over time in all primary outcomes: parent-rated child internalizing and externalizing behaviours, negative and positive parenting, self-efficacy and the secondary outcome psychological distress. Analyses of combined studies suggested a small increase in positive parenting strategies (g = 0.17, p < .05, k = 2). Although our sample of reviewed studies was relatively small, and the study outcomes varied considerably, the results indicate that parenting programmes might be an underutilized resource to promote health among forcibly displaced families.
