No full textLa tesis doctoral analiza la interrelación entre la gestión de la experiencia del cliente (CXM) y la cultura organizacional, con el objetivo de optimizar las micro-experiencias del cliente y maximizar el retorno de la inversión (ROI). El estudio se estructura en tres partes: primero, un análisis bibliométrico confirma el creciente interés académico en Customer Experience (CX) y Customer Engagement (CE); segundo, se evalúa empíricamente el impacto de variables operativas en servicios de atención al cliente —como el tiempo de espera, la duración de la llamada y la resolución en el primer contacto— sobre la satisfacción y recomendación del cliente, destacando el rol mediador de la permanencia del cliente (Customer Tenure); tercero, se demuestra que la gestión de CX influye positivamente en elementos de la cultura organizacional (roles, selección, evaluación y reconocimiento), relacionándose directamente con el ROI. Finalmente, se subraya la necesidad de establecer un departamento específico de CX para institucionalizar su gestión.In a competitive and dynamic business environment, customer experience (CX) has emerged as a key strategic factor for fostering loyalty and differentiation. This dissertation examines customer experience management (CXM) and its connection with organizational culture, highlighting how both elements contribute to the creation of lasting emotional bonds and the optimization of the Customer Journey (CJ). The research underscores the need for interdisciplinary collaboration, well-defined processes, and the effective use of technology to deliver personalized and positive experiences at critical moments of interaction. Furthermore, it analyzes the role of micro-experiences and how their proper management can enhance perceived value, customer loyalty, and return on investment. El presente estudio, parte de un trabajo de introspección basado en el método autoetnográfico con la finalidad de transformar los patrones etnocéntricos implícitos en nuestra mirada, nuestros paradigmas y nuestras prácticas docentes. A través del relato autoetnográfico se muestra una parte del proceso de devenir maestra intercultural, destacando que en la formación académica caben otros paradigmas y otros enfoques pedagógicos. Este método autoetnográfico relaciona la investigación etnográfica con el proceso creativo artístico. El relato autoetnográfico se convierte en un aporte a la generación de conocimiento científico que nos permite dar sentido a los encuentros interculturales e intervenir crítica y democráticamente en nuestra vida y en la de las otras personas con las que nos encontramos.In a society in constant change and transformation marked by globalization, migratory movements, global crises, and armed conflicts, it is necessary to create intercultural policies that build bridges between cultures coexisting in the same territory. This study is based on introspection using the autoethnographic method with the aim of transforming the ethnocentric patterns implicit in our outlook, our paradigms, and our teaching practices. Through autoethnographic narrative, it shows part of the process of becoming an intercultural teacher, highlighting that academic training can include other paradigms and pedagogical approaches that open our outlook. This autoethnographic method relates ethnographic research to the artistic creative process. The autoethnographic narrative becomes a contribution to the generation of scientific knowledge that allows us to make sense of intercultural encounters and to intervene critically and democratically in our life and in the other people's lives we encounter. Developing Pragmatic Competence in EFL Contexts: Teaching Compliments and Compliment Responses Through Film Excerpts

Curs acadèmic: 2024/2025Pragmatics, the study of language in context, has been demonstrated to be indispensable for successful communication. Therefore, learning a language also entails learning the pragmatic norms associated with it. Nevertheless, in many English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts, pragmatic competence is often overlooked in favour of grammatical and lexical instruction. The coursebooks that constitute the basis of teaching do not provide opportunities for exposure or production of authentic and contextualised language use. As a result, EFL learners are not equipped with the pragmatic awareness required for socioculturally effective interaction, particularly in nuanced situations such as giving and responding to compliments. Taking into account these limitations, this paper aims to present a research-based teaching proposal for enhancing EFL learners’ pragmatic competence using film excerpts as the main source of authentic material. In particular, it focuses on developing students’ ability to comprehend and produce the speech act of compliments, and its adjacency pair, compliment responses. Based on theoretical research, this framework addresses the need for a pragmatic instruction in language education that offers authentic input exposure, opportunities for practice, and metapragmatic reflection, fostering learners’ communicative competence in diverse sociocultural contexts

El objetivo de esta investigación está en realizar un análisis del Dance Marketing como herramienta estratégica para el engagement de marca, a través de los spots ganadores de los Premios EFI. En cuanto a la filosofía de los premios: “Los premios a la Eficacia nacieron en 1997 para responder a una necesidad común del sector publicitario: reconocer la contribución de la comunicación comercial a la consecución de los objetivos empresariales de las empresas anunciantes” (Premios EFI, 2024). Aunque esta investigación parte de la Monografía de Alloza (2001), y los Premios nacieron en 1997, para realizar un estudio completo del estado de la cuestión se atiende todo el universo de estudio desde 1997.The aim is to review/study brand evolution and management as the most valuable intangible resource/asset that an organization can have, and its narrative-performative discourses as the central axis of communication. The objective of this research is to analyze Dance Marketing as a strategic tool for brand engagement, through the winning spots of the EFI Awards. Regarding the philosophy of the awards: “The Effectiveness Awards were created in 1997 to respond to a common need in the advertising sector: to recognize the contribution of commercial communication to the achievement of the business objectives of advertising companies” (EFI Awards, 2024). No full textEsta investigación analiza el currículo formativo en psicología social impartido en el Grado en Psicología de la Universidad Central de Venezuela usando el marco analítico de la Educación Crítica para la Paz (ECpP). Para ello, establece un conjunto de conocimientos, habilidades y recursos para hacer las paces con la literatura especializada y realiza un estudio de casos intrínseco de corte cualitativo. Se conformó un corpus informativo constituido por 20 programas de asignaturas dictadas por el Departamento de Psicología Social de la Escuela de Psicología de la UCV y se entrevistó en profundidad a 23 estudiantes del Ciclo Aplicado de Psicología Social de las cohortes que comenzaron dicho ciclo entre 2015 y 2018. Los programas analizados presentan amplias referencias interdisciplinares y oportunidades de mejora en la sinergia pedagógica. El reporte del estudiantado señala la promoción de un habitus socio-reflexivo y crítico como recurso principal para la construcción de paz en Venezuela.This research analyses the curriculum of social psychology taught in the undergraduate Psychology program at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, using the analytical framework of Critical Peace Education (CPE). To do so, it establishes a set of knowledge, skills, and resources for making peace based on specialized literature and conducts an intrinsic case study with a qualitative approach. The information corpus was composed of 20 course syllabi from the Department of Social Psychology at the UCV School of Psychology, and in-depth interviews were conducted with 23 students from the Applied Cycle of Social Psychology who began the cycle between 2015 and 2018. The analysed syllabi present broad interdisciplinary references and opportunities for improvement in pedagogical synergy. El rol de las ONGD en la Agenda 2030: una aproximación desde el conocimiento cotidiano
No full textEsta tesis examina las percepciones ciudadanas sobre el papel de las ONGD en la Agenda 2030, en un contexto actual de transformación de la cooperación internacional y de cuestionamiento de los actores tradicionales. Basada en el enfoque de las teorías implícitas de Rodríguez et al. (1993), combina en su metodología fases cualitativas y cuantitativas mediante un diseño secuencial. Los hallazgos muestran una brecha entre la imagen proyectada por las ONGD y las representaciones ciudadanas: si bien se reconocen sus aportaciones, persisten dudas sobre la sostenibilidad e impacto de sus acciones. Las percepciones varían según factores como la edad o el grado de vinculación con la cooperación, y revelan tensiones entre los discursos transformadores y las prácticas desconectadas de las prioridades locales. Se concluye que las ONGD deben redefinir su rol estratégico, fortaleciendo su capacidad de incidencia, de construcción de alianzas y de impulso a una ciudadanía crítica e informada.This research examines citizens’ perceptions of the role played by Non-Governmental Development Organizations (NGDOs) in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Drawing on the implicit theories framework proposed by Rodríguez et al. (1993), the research adopts a mixed and sequential design that combines qualitative and quantitative phases to identify the cognitive frameworks through which citizens perceive the actions of NGDOs. The results reveal a gap between the institutional image projected by these organizations and the social representations constructed by citizens regarding their contribution to sustainable development. Although citizens generally value their commitment, doubts persist about the sustainability and transformative scope of their interventions. The research also highlights significant differences related to age and familiarity with the 2030 Agenda, underscoring the need for NGDOs to strengthen their role as agents of social change.Programa de Doctorat en Desenvolupament Local i Cooperació Internaciona

No full textCompendi d'articlesEl desprendimiento de retina con afectación macular (mácula off) es una urgencia oftalmológica que puede comprometer gravemente la visión, incluso tras una cirugía técnicamente exitosa. Esta tesis analiza y compara las dos principales técnicas quirúrgicas utilizadas (cerclaje escleral y vitrectomía vía pars plana), desde un enfoque integral, con el objetivo de mejorar la comprensión de los factores que limitan la recuperación visual óptima. Mediante el uso de tecnología avanzada de imagen como la tomografía de coherencia óptica (OCT) y la microperimetría MAIA, se analizan los resultados anatómicos, funcionales, yatrogenia inducida e impacto socioeconómico de cada técnica en el sistema sanitario. Este enfoque multidimensional pretende aportar evidencia útil para mejorar la toma de decisiones clínicas, optimizar los resultados visuales y minimizar las complicaciones, contribuyendo así al avance en el tratamiento quirúrgico del desprendimiento de retina.This doctoral thesis evaluates and compares the economic, microstructural, and functional outcomes of two surgical techniques used in the treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) of moderate complexity: pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and scleral buckling (SB). Through a multimodal approach, three interrelated studies were conducted. The first analyses cost-utility, suggesting that both techniques are cost-effective, with SB showing a slightly more favorable economic profile. The second examines postoperative microstructural retinal changes using OCT, revealing greater photoreceptor disruption in the PPV group. The third assesses retinal function via MAIA microperimetry, showing partial visual improvement with both techniques, yet persistent functional deficits. The findings highlight that although anatomical reattachment is commonly achieved, full visual recovery remains limited, possibly due to iatrogenic or microstructural damage. This research supports a more individualized surgical approach and emphasizes the need for detailed postoperative functional and structural monitoring to optimize outcomes and healthcare sustainability in RRD management.Programa de Doctorat en Ciències Biomèdiques i Salu
“Afrotopías”: identidad africana ante el desafío de la violencia. Consideraciones desde la ética cordial y la crítica política de la resistencia.
No full textLas dinámicas sociales africanas están ganando nuevos impulsos a medida que la sociedad civil ensancha sus horizontes gracias a la confluencia de varios factores: el despertar tardío de muchos africanos, especialmente jóvenes, de la gran noche del colonialismo; los mecanismos de la globalización que impregnan cada vez más los espacios africanos con contenidos disruptivos; la crisis política en todo el continente de las narrativas de las independencias secuestradas por élites locales; la recuperación simbólica identitaria de los recursos religiosos, étnicos y culturales; el progresivo aumento de referentes intelectuales y la cada vez más capaz, sólida e influyente academia africana. Todo ello está poniendo al continente africano en un proceso desafiante de redefinición, tomada de conciencia y proyección constructiva del futuro. En las raíces autóctonas se encuentran elementos preciosos para que esta tarea pueda llevarse a cabo poniendo en primer lugar el reconocimiento de las personas y los pueblos de África, leyendo la experiencia y la tradición de occidente para aprender de ella y superarla en humanidad, acogiendo en esta construcción de lo propio los esfuerzos del Sur Global, de la subalternidad y del reto permanente de una medida de humanidad que esté a la altura de nuestro tiempo convulso. Esta investigación propone bases morales para construir una identidad africana decolonial desde la filosofía moral y la hermenéutica crítica: desde el lugar de más abajo, desde las víctimas, desde la cordialidad ubuntuista, desde la resistencia política a la sumisión y a las nuevas esclavitudes, desde la creatividad que nace de la aceptación humilde e incondicional de quien se es, de la historia vivida y la herencia recibida, pero en camino hacia una plenitud en humanidad capaz de hablar en el mundo global en el que se realizan los proyectos vitales. El análisis crítico de la violencia y el pluralismo radical aportan las claves más originales de esta investigación.The way in which Africa currently defines itself has changed substantially since the early years of independence. African societies are consolidating thanks to a greater awareness of citizenship brought about by a self-inscription of identity that is gradually overcoming the ideological resources, obstacles of a psychosocial nature, imposed on the structures built by colonial violence. The mechanisms of globalisation are increasingly permeating African spaces with disruptive content, contributing to a political crisis that is permeating the entire continent. The narratives of independence hijacked by local elites are being called into question, while a symbolic recovery of identity is taking place based on religious, ethnic and cultural resources. At the same time, there is an increase in intellectual role models and an increasingly capable, solid and influential African academia. This research project is part of this challenging effort of redefinition, of raising awareness and of constructive projection of the future by the Global South. It aims to take advantage of precious elements of indigenous African roots in dialogue with Western perspectives, to offer light in this task, putting the recognition of the people and the peoples of Africa first. From the perspective of a measure of humanity that is equal to our turbulent times, moral bases are proposed for constructing a decolonial African identity based on moral philosophy and critical hermeneutics: the lowest place, the perspective of the victims, ubuntuist cordiality, political resistance to submission and to the new forms of slavery, creativity born of the humble and unconditional acceptance of who one is, one's and the inheritance received, are elements that are brought into play in the search for a fulfilment in humanity that can speak in the global world in which life projects are realised. La figura del ethics officer como oportunidad para el desarrollo de una infraestructura de gestión ética: análisis de caso en el sector tecnológico B2B
No full textDoctorat industrialEl objetivo de la presente tesis industrial, consiste en presentar, justificar y aplicar a un caso concreto la figura del del responsable de ética de la empresa, o ethics officer. Este agente es considerado clave por sus capacidades y competencias específicas para asumir la gestión de la ética en la empresa, lo cual incluye, entre otros aspectos, la gestión de la confianza tanto interna como externa. Por todo lo expuesto, y como exposición final, entendemos que esta investigación representa un avance significativo en el campo de la gestión ética empresarial, aportando una contribución clave al desarrollo de la figura del ethics officer. Este nuevo perfil profesional, lejos de ser una mera adición al organigrama, se posiciona como un pilar central en la estructura ética de las organizaciones. Gracias a los hallazgos de esta tesis, el ethics officer cuenta ahora con un respaldo académico sólido que no solo valida su importancia, sino que también lo dota de un marco claro de competencias, funciones y responsabilidades, necesarias para gestionar la ética de manera integral y efectiva en un entorno empresarial cada vez más exigente. Mirando hacia el futuro, podemos augurar que el oficial de ética desempeñará un papel fundamental en la construcción de empresas más responsables y transparentes, capaces de integrar la ética en todas sus decisiones y actividades. La profesionalización de este perfil contribuirá, sin duda, a consolidar la reputación de las organizaciones que lo adopten, al garantizar que la ética no sea un discurso vacío, sino una práctica tangible y medible. En este sentido, estamos convencidas que el ethics officer se convertirá en un agente de cambio, capaz de transformar la cultura corporativa, conectando así la ética con la reputación corporativa. The methodology used has a double root. Firstly, a critical hermeneutic that addresses the ethical bases of trust in the company. To this end, the ethics of discourse or ethics of dialogue is used, consisting of seeking dialogue and agreement among all stakeholders involved in business activity. Secondly, an empirical analysis is used through a comparative analysis of the main B2B service companies. Multiphysics Modeling of Photoelectrochemical Devices for Simultaneous Solar-Driven Biomass Reforming and Hydrogen Production
No full textBiomass reforming, including glycerol and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural oxidation, converts renewable biomass-derived molecules into value-added chemicals and fuels. This process is crucial for sustainable energy and chemical production, offering a carbon-neutral alternative to fossil-based feedstocks. Integrating biomass oxidation with photoelectrochemistry enables solar-driven reactions, reducing external electrical input and improving energy efficiency. Photoelectrochemical cells selectively oxidize biomass-derived compounds at the photoanode while generating hydrogen or other reduction products at the cathode, creating a synergistic system for sustainable fuel and chemical production. Electrolyte transport properties significantly impact membraneless PEC device performance. This study systematically investigates flow behavior, crossover effects, and device operation using a 0.5 M glycerol solution as the anolyte. Despite its similar density and viscosity to water, the glycerol solution exhibits density-driven instabilities, leading to electrolyte mixing when paired with a pure water catholyte. Simulations reveal that using the same glycerol solution in both compartments prevents crossover and enhances stability. A single-bridge design optimized to minimize iR drop while maintaining separation reduced voltage losses by 47% compared to a double-bridge configuration. At flow rates ≥60 mL/min, product crossover remains negligible, supporting the feasibility of membraneless PEC designs for glycerol oxidation. These findings contribute to scaling up PEC systems for sustainable hydrogen and high-value-added chemical production, emphasizing the potential of modular, high-efficiency solar-driven biomass reforming
