Nonreligious Parents\u27 Perceptions of the Role Religious Differences and Religious Disaffiliation Play in Family Relationships
The number of nonreligious Americans has steadily increased in recent years, and researchers predict that this growth will continue. Despite this growth, limited research has explored the experiences of nonreligious parents and how religious differences impact their family relationships. As such, through a qualitative analysis of 33 interviews with nonreligious couples (N=66 individuals), the current study addresses how nonreligious adults perceive the influence of religious differences on their relationships with their family of origin (i.e., parents, siblings, and extended family members) and how these religious differences impact the intergenerational relationships between nonreligious parent\u27s family of origin and their children. Additionally, how nonreligious parents approach the (non)religious socialization of their children is addressed. Results highlight the complexity of religious differences in family relationships and include a strengths-based approach which highlights protective factors that can help maintain and strengthen relationships amidst religious differences
Bear Lake Observatory
Zenithal nightglow measurements obtained by the Temperature Mapper are compared with coincident broad-band data obtained by the all-sky imager. These measurements were made under near-new-moon conditions on 21/22 March, 1996, when little or no short-period wave activity was detected. The relative intensity of the P1(2) line with the background removed is presented as a time series (with 1-min samples every ~4 min) in panel (b). To minimize the influence of stars on the data trends, 3 x 3 averaging about the zenith pixel has been employed. The corresponding relative intensity of the broad-band OH measurements are plotted in panel (a) while panel (c), shows the OH (6,2) rotational temperatures derived from the intensity ratio P1(4)/P1(2)

Highly variable structures in the mesospheric emissions are usually attributed to the gravity waves and tides, which contribute ~20% of the total heat budget of the mesosphere. 3D-FFT Atmospheric Gravity Wave Analysis Using Airglow Imagers
Climatology of gravity waves are helpful for large scale models, but during a single night\u27s observation at McMurdo station the waves have shown strong dynamics hour-to-hour during the 24 hour period. These small scale dynamics can have strong effects on the hourly space weather present in the upper atmosphere, and with this new analysis these small time scales are easily quantifiable
Secondary Processing at Utah State University Archives
In 2018, Utah State University Special Collections and Archives undertook a Remediation Project to create finding aids and library catalog records for all its holdings, including University Archives. During this project, additional issues were found with the arrangement, description, and preservation of University Archives. A new workflow, called secondary processing, grew out of efforts to address such issues while completing the original goals of the Remediation Project. This article examines how secondary processing was used at Utah State University and the challenges and opportunities uncovered as work progressed. It also discusses how secondary processing was used to improve discoverability and preservation of University Archives
Doppler Ducting of Quasi-Ripple Wave Events in the Mesospheric OH and O\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e Airglow Emissions
Using simultaneous imaging and background wind measurements from Maui, Hawaii (20.70°N, 156.3°W), during 2003, the observed and intrinsic parameters of ducted (or evanescent) ripple-like waves have been investigated. These are relatively rare events and here we show three examples and compare their observed properties with theoretical predictions. The measurements were obtained using the Utah State University Mesospheric Temperature Mapper (MTM) which sequentially sampled the near infra-red OH and O2, airglow emissions centered at 87 and 94 km, respectively, and the University of Illinois meteor radar which provided continuous hourly wind measurements over the altitude range of 80-100 km

GPR171 Modulates Mood, Consummatory Behaviors, And Morphine Antinociception in a Sexually Dimorphic Pattern in Mice
Receptors in the brain influence everything from complex behaviors related to mood, all the way to simple physiological functions like the way a person moves. Receptors are activated or inactivated by chemicals or hormones that the body produces or that are created to mimic the body’s natural chemicals. Of the hundreds of receptors in the brain, GPR171 is particularly interesting because new drugs have been created to activate or block the receptor, and are being proposed for the treatment of different disorders, particularly disorders related to pain. GPR171 has been shown to affect pain behaviors, eating, and mood-related behaviors, but has not been well researched beyond these few studies. In addition, it is not clear what GPR171 does in females, as they have not been included in most of the research of the receptor. In our research, we explored how GPR171 affects females, particularly in anxiety, depression, and stress, to better understand its role. We also used a new method involving mice genetically modified to lack GPR171 to investigate its broader influence on behaviors such as eating, body functions, mood, and pain, directly comparing the results between male and female mice. Our findings show that blocking GPR171 in female mice reduced anxiety-like behaviors and was influenced by estrogen, suggesting that hormones may change how GPR171 works. We also show that mice without GPR171 displayed changes in eating behavior, movement coordination, anxiety, and depression, which were dependent on the sex of the mice. Additionally, these modified mice showed a reduced response to morphine, a common pain medication, confirming that GPR171 is necessary for morphine to work properly. Overall, this dissertation underscores the importance of GPR171 in controlling various behaviors and bodily functions. It shows that this receptor is essential for normal functioning and that its effects can differ significantly between males and females. This highlights the need to consider these differences as treatments targeting this receptor for various medical conditions are being developed
An Examination of Inclusion of Secondary Students With Disabilities in One Local School District
This survey was designed to examine the role of inclusion in a secondary school setting in one school district. The survey attempted to measure the attitudes, and opinions of general education school teachers, special education school teachers, administrators, and the parents of a student with a disability. The survey determined that most opinions agreed that students with disabilities deserved to be included in classes and extracurricular activities but what that would look like was different in all groups. Opinions even varied when looking at what the exact definition of inclusion was. Results from the survey showed opinions that teachers and administrators have towards the school district and how inclusive it is overall. Inclusion is an important aspect of education as everyone deserves the right to a quality education. How to accomplish this goal for all students remains a lingering question that as of today has no definitive answer
