The Impact of Light and Color on Child-Friendly Spaces
Light and color significantly affect children\u27s sleep, cognition, mood, and overall health. Proper design can enhance emotional stability, learning outcomes, and physical well-being. This research explores how light quality—brightness, saturation, and hue—along with color psychology, influence behavior, cognitive function, and circadian rhythms. Natural light improves focus, sleep, and mood, while artificial lighting must be carefully balanced to prevent disruptions. Warm colors foster energy and engagement, while cool tones promote relaxation and concentration. Findings highlight the importance of evidence-based lighting and color strategies in educational and childcare settings, ensuring environments that support children\u27s holistic development
In Vivo Efficacy of a Broad-Spectrum Antiviral Combination Against Yellow Fever in a Hamster Model
Yellow fever virus (YFV) recurrently causes severe outbreaks in tropical regions of South America and Africa and an average of 30 to 40 thousand deaths worldwide each year. An effective vaccine is available but the coverage of the population in countries at risk is not optimal. No antivirals are currently approved for YFV treatment. Herein, we describe the evaluation of 6-MMPr, a de-novo-purine-nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitor, as a potentiator for enhanced activity of the broad-spectrum antiviral drug favipiravir in a hamster model of yellow fever. Administration of 6-MMPr was well-tolerated and a combination of favipiravir and 6-MMPr did not cause overt toxicity as indicated by normal weight gain of treated hamsters. Treatment with a combination of a suboptimal dose of favipiravir with 6-MMPr was significantly more effective in improving survival, weight change and virus replication when compared with monotherapy. The initiation of treatment two days after virus challenge was also effective in improving survival when compared with monotherapy. Our results demonstrate the safety and efficacy of such a combination either as a preventive or delayed treatment

The Importance of Learning Styles for High School Ghanian Teachers
This study examines the significance of learning styles, specifically the VARK model (Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic), in influencing instructional practices among high school teachers in Ghana. Grounded in a qualitative, phenomenological case study approach, the research involved interviews with 11 educators from three senior high schools in the Greater Accra region. Findings revealed varied levels of awareness and understanding of learning styles, with some teachers actively incorporating VARK strategies, while others showed a lack of familiarity. Despite this, there was a shared recognition of the value of tailoring instruction to students’ preferred learning modalities to promote inclusivity, engagement, and academic success. Teachers expressed a growing interest in professional development opportunities to deepen their pedagogical knowledge in this area. The study provides the potential for learning-style-informed teaching to enhance classroom practices within an increasingly digitized educational landscape. Implications suggest the need for targeted teacher training and further research on the impact of learning styles on student outcomes in Ghanaian high schools
The Applicability of A/B Testing in Clinical Trials
• A/B Testing is a study method that allows researchers to compare two different options in a variety of different contexts, most usually in a business context (i.e.: font color).
• A/B Testing is starting to used in biostatistical application, such as for clinical trial recruitment improvement.
• A study done by previous researchers aimed to apply A/B Testing to clinical trial recruitment improvement.
• My goal was to build a model that used the data from this study but implement a dependent structure

Translating Political Cartoons: The Fight for Peace in Central America
In 1987, the Esquipulas II treaty was established by Costa Rican President Oscar Arias. Political cartoonists celebrated the peace it was trying to establish in a variety of different fashions. An olive branch, a suitcase, a white dove and a bag of teddy bears all represent peace in these cartoons
How Does Social Media Influence Gen Z\u27s Perception of American Politics?
This study examines whether social media influences Gen Z voters depending on which app they use and their political affiliation. Specifically, it explores how social media platforms shape perceptions of the American political system by analyzing survey responses from Utah State University students regarding the most recent election. Understanding this influence is crucial, as social media plays a central role in shaping political information, particularly for young voters. The findings will help determine whether social media can be used in future elections and which platforms are the most reliable for each party. Given the limited research on the role of social media in shaping electoral outcomes, this study aims to fill critical knowledge gaps for both researchers and student
Unmasking the Threat: Utilization of Digital Health Communication Techniques in Addressing Smoking and Vaping-Induced Lung Cancer Amongst Youth
The correlation between cigarette sales and lung cancer mortality in the United States is going down. However, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer- related deaths globally, with high mortality rates among both men and women. The research will explore the direct and indirect causes of lung cancer, emphasizing early intervention to prevent the onset of the disease
