A study on acoustic bird detection in the context of smart agriculture
No full textBird attacks on crops represent one of the main challenges faced by farmers to make a farm profitable and sustainable. This challenge requires a paradigm shift from old, traditional, ineffective methods, towards the incorporation of smart farming technologies. Intelligent or precision agriculture contributes to the effective and efficient management of resources and, consequently, an increase in production. This work first reviews projects, techniques and methods that can be used for bird species detection and identification based on their sound. Then, a performance evaluation study is conducted on two different approaches that can be employed for the development of a smart bird deterrence solution. Their strengths and limitations are highlighted. The findings can be used as a foundation for future research in this area.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Objective: The aim of this study was to validate the Portuguese short version of the Ottawa Mental Skills Assessment Tool (OMSAT-3).
Methodology: By means of a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), a total of 524 Portuguese athletes of both sexes aged between 12 and 42 (M = 19.21; SD = 5.46) were recruited for the present study.
Results: The results indicate that the reduced version of the OMSAT-3 (30 items) has adequate psychometric qualities, enabling an assessment of Foundation, Psychosomatic and Cognitive Skills (SRMR = 0.052; CFI = 0.983; TLI = 0.979; RMSEA = 0.031 CI 90% [0.026, 0.037]; χ²/df = 1.52). There was high concurrent validity between the reduced version (30 items) and the full version (48 items).
Conclusions: The results suggest that the reduced OMSAT-3 can be used with confidence to assess psychological skills in a sports context.Introducción: El desarrollo de habilidades psicológicas juega un papel importante en la mejora del rendimiento y en la obtención de excelentes resultados en los deportes.
Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio fue validar la versión corta en portugués de la Herramienta de Evaluación de Habilidades Mentales de Ottawa (OMSAT-3).
Metodología: Mediante un análisis factorial confirmatorio (AFC), un total de 524 atletas portugueses de ambos sexos, con edades comprendidas entre 12 y 42 años (M = 19.21; DT = 5.46), fueron reclutados para el presente estudio.
Resultados: Los resultados indican que la versión reducida del OMSAT-3 (30 ítems) tiene cualidades psicométricas adecuadas, lo que permite una evaluación de las Habilidades Fundamentales, Psicosomáticas y Cognitivas (SRMR = 0.052; CFI = 0.983; TLI = 0.979; RMSEA = 0.031 CI 90% [0.026, 0.037]; χ²/df = 1.52). Se encontró una alta validez concurrente entre la versión reducida (30 ítems) y la versión completa (48 ítems).

Estratégias e práticas adaptadas ao ensino do contrabaixo: criar para motivar
No full textRelatório de Estágio apresentado à Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Ensino de Música – Instrumento e Música de Conjunto.O presente relatório de estágio diz respeito à Prática de Ensino Supervisionada, realizada no Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco e também ao Projeto Artístico do Mestrado em Ensino de Música - Variante de Instrumento (Contrabaixo) e Música de Conjunto, da Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto
Politécnico de Castelo Branco. O mesmo está dividido em duas partes, sendo que a primeira descreve o ano de lecionação e acompanhamento das disciplinas anteriormente referidas. Na segunda parte, é apresentado um pequeno trabalho de investigação relativo à disciplina de Contrabaixo com o seguinte título: Estratégias e Práticas Adaptadas ao Ensino do Contrabaixo: Criar para Motivar.
O trabalho de investigação foi motivado através do levantamento de questões a propósito da necessidade de reunir algumas estratégias e práticas pedagógicas que fossem capazes de manter os alunos mais motivados e, consequentemente, tivessem uma aprendizagem mais consistente. A metodologia utilizada foi a investigação-ação, pelo que os resultados obtidos da aplicação das estratégias e práticas pedagógicas foram avaliados através de entrevistas e da observação.
Os resultados indicam que as estratégias e práticas pedagógicas aplicadas aos alunos surtiram efeito positivo, resltando numa maior motivação para o seu estudo individual. De salientar que seria pertinente, a longo prazo, se desse continuidade a esta investigação para uma melhor consolidação e compreensão desta
problemática.Abstract: This report concerns to the Supervised Teaching Practice carried out at the Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco and the Artistic Project of the Mestrado em Ensino de Música - Variante de Instrumento (Contrabaixo) e Música de Conjunto, of the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas of the Instituto Politécnico de
Castelo Branco. It is divided into two parts, the first one describes the year of teaching and monitoring of the subjects. The second part presents a small research work related to the Contrabaixo subject with the following title: Strategies and Practices Adapted to the Teaching of Double Bass: Creating to Motivate.
The research work was motivated by the raising of questions regarding the need to bring together some pedagogical strategies and practices that would be capable of keeping students more motivated and consequently have more consistent learning. The methodology used was action research, so the results obtained from
the application of the pedagogical strategies and practices were evaluated through interviews and observation.
The results indicate that the pedagogical strategies and practices applied to the students had a positive effect, resulting in greater motivation for their individual study. It should be noted that it would be pertinent, in the long term, to continue this research to better consolidate and understand this problem

No full textDissertação apresentada à Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para obtenção do grau de Mestre em Design de Interiores e Mobiliário.O presente relatório tem como objetivo fazer uma reflexão e análise acerca do estágio curricular, desenvolvido como componente final para terminus de Mestrado de Design de Interiores e Mobiliário, colocando em prática conteúdos aprendidos em contexto académico, aplicando-os no mundo profissional.
Neste documento são descritas as atividades e projetos de maior relevo em que a mestranda participou, ao longo de seis meses, de estágio na empresa Wewood – Portuguese Joinery. Durante este período de tempo foi possível à mestranda observar e fazer parte integrante da equipa.
Nesta experiência, foram desenvolvidas tarefas diversificadas, realizados vários projetos, consistentemente na vertente de mobiliário e também de desenho técnico para produção. Tam-bém, houve uma componente relevante de contato com clientes, fornecedores e colegas de equipa que contribuiu para a ampliação do conhecimento técnico e projetual.
Pretendeu-se com este estágio curricular articular os conhecimentos teóricos e práticos adquiridos ao longo da Licenciatura e do Mestrado, bem como a experimentação num contexto empresarial, condicionado por clientes e projetos reais, obtendo experiência profissional através do desenvolvimento de projetos, mediante a aprendizagem e intercâmbio de novas técnicas.Abstract :
This report aims to make a reflection and analysis about the curricular internship, developed as a final component for finishing the Master of Interior Design and Furniture, putting into practice contents learned in a academic context, applying in the professional world.
In this document are describes the most important activities and projects in which the mas-ter student participated, during six months of internship at Wewood - Portuguese Joinery. During this time it was possible for the master student to observe and be part of the team.
In this experience, diverse tasks were developed, several projects were carried out, consistently in terms of furniture and also of technical design for production. There was also a relevant component of contact with customers, suppliers and teammates that contributed to the expansion of technical and design knowledge.
The aim of this curricular internship was to articulate the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the graduation and master degree, as well as its experimentation in a business context conditioned by clients and real projects. The seminal technologies of animation
No full textO presente artigo apresenta uma revisão de literatura sobre as tecnologias seminais que moldaram o início da imagem em movimento, com ênfase na animação. Embora a história da animação seja frequentemente analisada sob a ótica de técnicas e estilos, as tecnologias subjacentes têm recebido atenção particularmente reduzida. Este estudo, portanto, procura clarificar as origens das tecnologias que tiveram implicação direta na existência da animação, bem como as suas inter-relações e impactos no desenvolvimento deste campo. Inicialmente, explora-se o surgimento de tecnologias primitivas, como a roda, a lanterna mágica, os brinquedos óticos e as câmaras de animação, que expandiram as possibilidades narrativas e visuais do cinema. Em seguida, analisa-se o impacto da eletrónica, desde os primeiros tubos de raios catódicos (CRT) até os sintetizadores de vídeo. Por fim, aborda-se a revolução digital, desde os primeiros computadores e imagens digitais até à animação 3D poligonal, evidenciando o papel das inovações computacionais na transformação da linguagem visual contemporânea. O estudo pretende destacar a relevância dessas tecnologias pioneiras, que possibilitaram a exploração de novas formas de expressão artística, consolidando a animação como um campo dinâmico e interdisciplinar.Abstract: This paper presents a literature review on seminal technologies that shaped the early development of the moving image, with a focus on animation. While the history of animation is often analysed through the lens of techniques and styles, the underlying technologies have received particularly limited attention. This study, therefore, seeks to clarify the origins of the technologies that had a direct implication in the existence of animation, as well as their interrelationships and impacts on the development of this field. Initially, it explores the emergence of primitive technologies such as
the wheel, the magic lantern, optical toys, and animation cameras, which expanded the narrative and visual possibilities of cinema. Subsequently, it examines the impact of electronics, from the first cathode ray tubes (CRTs) to vídeo synthesizers. Finally, it addresses the digital revolution, from the first computers and digital images to 3D polygonal animation, emphasizing the role of computational innovations in transforming contemporary visual language. The study highlights the significance of these pioneering technologies, which enabled the exploration of new forms of artistic expression,

É composto por duas partes, a primeira parte diz respeito à PES realizada durante o estágio e a segunda destina-se a apresentar o trabalho de investigação levado a cabo pelo mestrando e que teve como objetivo principal perceber quais os manuais mais utilizados no ensino do clarinete no 3º ciclo e o porquê de esses manuais serem usados.
Pretende-se conhecer os manuais mais utilizados pelos professores de clarinete e o motivo da sua escolha. Adicionalmente, procuraremos compreender de que modo estes manuais contribuem para a evolução dos alunos, fazendo uma breve análise aos conteúdos desses manuais.Abstract: This report is the conclusion of the work carried out during the Master’s in Music Teaching and the follow-up to the Supervised Teaching Practice internship held at the Escola de Música Nossa Sra. do Cabo – Linda-a-Velha (EMNSC) during the school year of 2023/2024.
It consists of two parts, the first of which refers to the STP performed during the internship and the second is intended to present the research work carried out by the master student and whose main objective was to try to understand witch manuals are more used by teachers in the 3rd cycle of clarinet teaching and why are they used.
It is intended to know which the most used manuals by clarinet teachers and the reason for their choice. Additionally, we will try to understand how these manuals contribute to the students' evolution doing a brief analysis of the content in those manuals
Perfomer artist : perspective of the creative process in the studio as a place for artistic creation
No full textA presente investigação concentra-se na análise do processo criativo do atelier com o objetivo de procurar entender socialmente o artista plástico e como tornar possível o seu reconhecimento, legitimação e consagração no campo artístico e cultural. Ao longo deste estudo podemos observar que a palavra artista é usada para designar o pintor, cuja atividade específica consiste em produzir obras de arte mediante a utilização dos recursos técnicos, materiais e expressivos com que a pintura se identifica. Sob ponto de vista metodológico, partimos do princípio que embora o atelier seja um lugar de criação e espaço do artista, também se pode adaptar num acervo de obras documentadas e expostas ao longo do processo criativo, como são referenciados nos estudos de caso de artistas consagrados, Rembrant, Henri Matisse, Francis Bacon e Paula Rego em processos criativos dos seus ateliers.
Nesta perspetiva, verifica-se que a plenitude do atelier é considerada como um testemunho da vida do artista, no que concerne à disposição das obras e objetos de forma caótica ou organizada das várias etapas do processo criativo. No âmbito deste tema podemos concluir que a contribuição no processo criativo resulta da realidade objetiva do artista, funcionando como espelho de criação e objeto de análise pela sociedade que o visita, atribuindo-lhe a dinâmica e o verdadeiro sentido cósmico da existência do atelier.Abstract : This research focuses on the analysis of the studio's creative process with the aim of seeking to socially understand the visual artist and how to make their recognition, legitimization and consecration in the artistic and cultural field possible. Throughout this study we can observe that the word artist is used to designate the painter, whose specific activity consists of producing works of art through the use of technical, material and expressive resources with which painting identifies. From a methodological point of view, we assume that although the studio is a place of creation and space for the artist, it can also be adapted into a collectionof works documented and exhibited throughout the creative process, as referenced in case studies of artists renowned artists, Rembrant, Henri Matisse, Francis Bacon and Paula Rego in creative processes in their studios. From this perspective, it appears that the fullness of the studio is considered as a testimony to the artist's life, in terms of the arrangement of works and objects in a chaotic or organized way in the diferente stages of the creative process. Within the scope of this theme, we can conclude that the contribution to the creative process results from the objective reality of the artist, functioning as a mirror of creation and an object of analysis by the society that visits him, attributing to him the dynamics and the true cosmic meaning of the studio's existence
O plano curricular de acordeão no 3º Ciclo: Análise crítica e proposta de programa
No full textRelatório de Estágio apresentado à Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Ensino de Música – Instrumento e Música de Conjunto.Este relatório resulta do trabalho realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Música – variante de Instrumento (Acordeão) e Música de Conjunto – da Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco, em particular na unidade curricular de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES). O documento encontra-se dividido em duas partes: o resumo do dossiê de estágio, que descreve a PES, e um estudo de investigação na área do ensino do acordeão.
A primeira parte do documento consiste na descrição da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada decorrida durante o ano letivo de 2023/2024, no Conservatório de Música do Porto (CMP). Esta secção inclui a caracterização do conservatório e do meio onde se insere, uma breve descrição da classe, do currículo da disciplina de acordeão e dos alunos envolvidos no estágio. Em seguida, apresentam-se as planificações, descrições e reflexões das aulas de instrumento e de classe de conjunto realizadas ao longo do ano, bem como uma reflexão final acerca da prática pedagógica desenvolvida. Por fim, são detalhadas as atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito da PES, incluindo-se breves descrições e os cartazes correspondentes.
A segunda parte deste relatório incide sobre o estudo de investigação intitulado “O plano curricular de acordeão no 3º ciclo: análise crítica e proposta de programa.” O objetivo inicial consistiu na criação de um programa curricular que resultasse da conjuntura dos demais programas pedagógicos existentes para o instrumento, procurando definir de forma mais clara e objetiva os conteúdos a abordar nos 3.º, 4.º e 5.º graus.
Para tal, foi realizada uma análise comparativa dos programas de acordeão em uso nas escolas públicas nacionais e recolhidos dados através de inquéritos por questionário dirigidos a docentes e alunos dessas instituições. Adicionalmente, procedeu-se à análise da bibliografia recomendada nos programas em vigor, de forma a compreender o nível de consenso na catalogação do repertório e comparar essas escolhas com programas internacionais.
O processo supramencionado permitiu redigir um novo programa curricular acompanhado de uma bibliografia recomendada para o 3º ciclo do ensino básico.Abstract: This report results from the work carried out as part of the Master’s Degree in Music Teaching – Instrument (Accordion) and Ensemble Music – at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (School of Applied Arts) in Castelo Branco, particularly in the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice. This document is divided into two main parts: a summary of the internship portfolio, and a research study in the field of accordion teaching.
The first part of the document addresses the work related to the Supervised Teaching Practice carried out during the 2023/2024 academic year at the Conservatório de Música do Porto (Oporto Conservatory of Music). This section includes the characterization of the conservatory and its surrounding context, followed by a brief description of the accordion class, the curriculum of the discipline, and the students involved in the internship. Subsequently, the planning, descriptions, and reflections of the instrument lessons and ensemble classes conducted throughout the year are presented, as well as a final reflection on the pedagogical practice developed. Finally, the activities carried out within the Supervised Teaching Practice are detailed, including brief descriptions and the corresponding posters.
The second part focuses on the research study entitled “The Accordion Curriculum in the 3rd Cycle: Critical Analysis and Programme Proposal.” The main objective was to develop a curricular programme from a critical synthesis of the various existing pedagogical programmes for the instrument, aiming to define more clearly and objectively the contents to be addressed in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
To this end, a comparative analysis of accordion programmes used in public music schools in Portugal was conducted, complemented by data collected through questionnaires administered to teachers and students from those institutions. Additionally, the recommended bibliographies from the current programmes were analysed, with the aim of assessing the level of consensus in repertoire classification and comparing these choices with international programmes.
This process culminated in the drafting of a new curricular proposal, accompanied by a recommended bibliography specifically designed for the 3rd cycle of basic education

A primeira parte da apresentação será relativa à Prática de Ensino Supervisionada que decorreu no estabelecimento de ensino Conservatório de Música de Loulé Francisco Rosado.
Neste capítulo será descrita a prática desenvolvida no período letivo de 2022/2023, no qual foi acompanhado o processo de aprendizagem de um aluno de guitarra portuguesa, individualmente, e uma classe de conjunto de instrumentos de cordas dedilhadas – quatro guitarras clássicas e uma guitarra portuguesa. Serão também apresentados documentos estruturantes das disciplinas de Guitarra Portuguesa e Classe de Conjunto em vigor no conservatório à data. Por fim, será realizada uma reflexão sobre o trabalho desenvolvido durante a prática de ensino.
A segunda parte centra-se no projeto de investigação, que tem como objetivo a realização de um manual didático dedicado ao ensino da guitarra portuguesa na faixa etária dos 5 aos 10 anos, equivalente ao ensino primário.
Este segundo capítulo encontra-se dividido em cinco partes, as quais considerámos fundamentais para a finalidade do projeto. Numa primeira fase apresentamos a pesquisa bibliográfica relevante para o ensino da guitarra portuguesa. Seguidamente foi realizado um levantamento dos estabelecimentos de ensino oficial com a opção de guitarra portuguesa na oferta formativa. Deste ponto, surge a terceira parte, referente aos resultados de um inquérito por questionário realizado a docentes do instrumento em questão. A quarta parte apresenta uma análise da observação direta realizada pela mestranda em contexto de docência. A quinta e última parte é o culminar deste projeto, com o desenvolvimento e criação de um manual de apoio ao ensino da guitarra portuguesa para crianças entre os 5 e os 10 anos.Abstract: The present internship report introduces the teaching practice within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice, as well as the research work integrated into the Master's in Music Education, specializing in Instrument and Ensemble Class – Portuguese Guitar option – at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas of the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco.
The first part of the presentation pertains to the Supervised Teaching Practice, which took place at the Conservatório de Música de Loulé Francisco Rosado.
This chapter describes the practice carried out during the 2022/2023 academic year, which involved monitoring the learning process of an individual portuguese guitar student and an ensemble class of plucked string instruments – four classical guitars and one portuguese guitar. Structural documents related to the disciplines of Portuguese Guitar and Ensemble Class in effect at the conservatory during that period will also be presented. Lastly, a reflection on the work carried out during the teaching practice will be provided.
The second part focuses on the research project, which aims to develop an educational manual dedicated to teaching the portuguese guitar to children aged 5 to 10, equivalent to primary education.
This second chapter is divided into five parts, which we considered fundamental for the purpose of the project. In the first phase, we present the relevant bibliographic research for teaching the portuguese guitar. Next, a survey was conducted on official educational institutions offering portuguese guitar as part of their curriculum. From this point arises the third part, which relates to the results of a questionnaire survey conducted with teachers of the instrument in question. The fourth part presents an analysis of the direct observation carried out by the master's student in a teaching context. The fifth and final part is the culmination of this project, involving the development and creation of a support manual for teaching the portuguese guitar to children aged 5 to 10
Using diagrams to explain brand concepts and implement visual identities

In this context, most of the Visual Identity (re)design projects of the brand/corporate end up being developed externally to the companies.The Design and Branding consultant or company usually plays a role in the stages of request, research, concept, strategy, tactics and, tending to disappear during the operationalization or implementation.A brand Visual Identity project implies the participation of several external specialists who intervene in the implementation of tasks and components that must be integrated. In the same sense, it requires the participation and awareness of the company's employees, so that they are active participants in the effective communication of the brand, always ensuring its consistency over time.The operationalization steps of a brand/corporate Visual Identity are crucial for its success, regarding the adequate implementation in terms of graphic quality and coherence, but also in the perspective of brand management, which requires good brand-business integration and the monitoring and correction of actions that impact on people's understanding and experience with the brand.It is recognized the relevance of diagrams in improving the understanding, the accessibility, and the enjoyment of complex information.In this study, we intend to understand how diagrams allow explaining complex concepts in the Brand Design universe, namely business structures, organizations, or methods, with several levels of importance or sequence, with main cores and right or possible declinations or dependencies.
