A restructuring of a business intelligence environment - from raw erp system data to visual reports
Companies today sit on a tremendous amount of value in their data but collecting it is
not enough. This data has to be analyzed to harvest its true value. This paper follows the process
of building up a BI environment that will allow the company to study and analyze all their
underlying data. The process starts with the core ERP data which is fed into the newly built data
warehouse. From there, the data is presented in visual reports and dashboards
Understanding the impact of automotive interior design on purchase decisions
This study aims to understand the impact of automotive interior design on purchase decisions. It
explores the impact of specific interior design elements on consumer decisions. Qualitative
interviews and quantitative surveys indicate a preference for high-tech design over classic
luxurious design, respectively. Key interior design elements like comfortable seats, well-designed
dashboards, and high-quality materials strongly influence consumer purchasing decisions. The
findings offer valuable insights and recommendations for automakers, particularly Mercedes Benz, to enhance their interior design strategies in line with consumer preferences
Impact of marketing and sales practices on business results in the technology industry - an industry analysis
Measuring and quantifying the success of marketing and sales
practices can be a challenging endeavour. The FI Consulting
scoring model attempts to achieve this. It was assessed by
conducting structured interviews across the architecture, insurance,
consumer goods and technology industry. The collected data
enabled the development of a more precise model to measure the
impact of marketing and sales practices on business results. This
was achieved, firstly, by optimising the scoring model and
maximizing the correlation between practices and financial KPIs.
Secondly, the study reflected on the quality of the new model while
interpreting its scores. This resulted in the establishment of a
refined scoring model, which enabled the measurement of the
impact. However, the impact on business results and relevance of
KPI’s varies per industry. Rather than using an overarching model,
to reflect on specific industry characteristics, it is recommended to
measure the impact of marketing and sales practices on business
results with industry-specific adaptations for the technology
industry of the FI Consulting scoring model
Towards a new economic paradigm: exploring the adoption of a globally applicable impact accounting framework
With increasing data availability, there has been significant progress in measuring social and
environmental impacts. This paper evaluates the “Impact Weighted Accounts Framework” for
the systematic measurement and monetization of impact and its further integration into an
integrated income statement and balance sheet using a double-materiality approach. The
framework is applied for the first time in its entirety and in the European sportswear industry.
Additionally, all three impact dimensions, including product, environmental, and employment,
are analyzed to answer the question of whether the framework can contribute to the reshaping
of our existing economic system and its perception of value

governamentais, visando a exportação do "Made in Portugal"

The evolution and Impact of pay-tv around the globe
In 2021, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) restructured the third tier of the
Portuguese football leagues system. The previous third tier, Campeonato de Portugal, was
demoted and replaced by Liga 3, a new format broadcasted through free-to-air TV, on FPF’s
Canal 11, and through its YouTube channel. Although Liga 3’s first edition outperformed, in
audience share and reach, the previous edition of the tier, serious concerns endure regarding its
broadcasting model. Apart from being unsustainable, the model fails to attract young viewers
and remains unpopular among Portuguese football fans. Our recommendations reshape Liga
3’s broadcasting model and include governance changes
The impact of mental health and diet on exclusive breastfeeding practices
Abstract
Despite the well-established significance of breastfeeding for infant health and development, the relationship between maternal health, dietary patterns, and exclusive breastfeeding remains complex.
This thesis comprises two main chapters that aimed to determine the influence of maternal health and diet on exclusive breastfeeding practices in the birth cohort PERIMYR. In the first chapter, it was investigated the associations between maternal health indicators, dietary factors, and the duration of exclusive breastfeeding. The second chapter consists of an interventional substudy of the PERIMYR cohort to evaluate if a dietary education session affects breastfeeding practices. The intervention consists of a face-to-face appointment performed by a registered dietitian at the end of pregnancy using an eye-catching 13-page manual, five monthly newsletters sent by e-mail plus a phone call at the 4th month postpartum.
Altogether, the findings of this thesis revealed a lack of significant associations between these factors, which was unexpected. By presenting only preliminary results of the intervention developed in this study would be premature to assume that the postpartum program education does not seem to influence adherence to the Mediterranean Diet and breastfeeding practices, as a larger sample will be necessary to draw robust conclusions.
For future research, the integration of qualitative research methodologies is recommended to gain deeper insights into the underlying determinants influencing breastfeeding practices. Additionally, this study highlights the challenges of promoting exclusive breastfeeding through dietary interventions, emphasizing the ongoing need for innovative approaches, as was done in this study, to support healthy eating habits during the postpartum period.
