Bacteryaqua: a revolutionary method to harness and desalinate water. The product, the team and the operational roll out

    No full text
Water scarcity is a significant global challenge, impacting millions of people and entailing substantial economic costs. Although current solutions address some aspects of the problem, they often fail to provide complete and more affordable solutions. Here is BacteryAqua, a pioneering company ready to revolutionize water treatment with cutting-edge technology. Driven by innovation and sustainability, our approach is built upon the groundbreaking concept of utilizing bacteria, rather than electricity, to develop a novel method. This innovative technique leverages the principles of electrodialysis and Microbial Fuel Cells (MFC) to extract salt from water, harnessing the metabolic processes of microorganisms. Therefore, BacteryAqua represents a paradigm shift in the field of water treatment. Our market strategy comprises five key phases aimed at scaling our operations, expanding our customer base, and reducing production costs. We will initiate with a prototype, focusing on implementing our system in an existing context. Beginning with the installation of our innovative shower system solution at Praia do Guincho (Cascais, Portugal), powered entirely by our bacteria-based desalination system. Subsequently, we'll introduce an MVP at NOVA SBE (BacteryOne), and, in collaboration with Acciona, expand to offshore oil platforms, near-shore industrial facilities, and islands in Spain, and ultimately, pursue global expansion into coastal regions. Overall, we follow the clear goal of persuading and drawing in possible investors asking for €1.900,000 within the first three years of operations by showcasing BacteryAqua's opportunities and prospects for success in the sector

    No full text
The term "Purpose Generation" increasingly characterizes Millennials and Generation Z, whose entry into the workforce reshapes organizational priorities towards value-driven employment. This study explores cross-generational perspectives on individual purpose within Germany's FMCG sector. Through 12 semi-structured interviews, it examines how both generations perceive and apply purpose. While both generations emphasize the importance of purpose in life and work, they differ in influences and application: Gen Z focuses on personal achievements and pivotal life events, while Millennials are motivated by curiosity and family. This research addresses a critical gap in literature by exploring these lived experiences and perceptions

Prostituição: Consentimento à alienação e nulidade do Objeto Contratual

    No full text
The subject of this dissertation is prostitution, the way it has been conceptually defined, and how it might be translated into a legal definition. Liberal definitions and languages will be questioned and contested through a feminist critique that views prostitution as a system that is both based on and perpetuates sexual hierarchy and various social inequalities. The proposal to legalize prostitution as a job or profession will be theoretically analyzed in light of its (in)compatibility with a) the general principles of private contractual law, b) labor law, c) international and European law, and d) the criminal classification of pimping in Portugal. The nature and formation of consent given within prostitution will be examined, as well as the contractual object of the transaction, in deliberate resistance to theories that equate it with the provision of services. After this structuring, the contractual object will be analyzed in the light of private law and its (in)conformity with the Portuguese Legal System, and the regime of nullity—namely by foreseeing subjection to violence, offense to legally protected rights, including sexual self-determination, health, physical and mental integrity, and by compromising the fundamental principle of human dignity. The possibility of implementing the Swedish Nordic abolitionist model in Portugal will be addressed, and specifically, the necessary adaptations to the country's socio-cultural context will be suggested in the pursuit of combating human trafficking, respecting human rights, and promoting equality between men and women
