No full textTeofil Żebrawski was a polymath and an erudite: cartographer, geodesist, bibliographer, architect, biologist, archeologist and mathematician. He was an author of works mainly about road, iron road and bridge constructions, cartography, topography and entomology and he was also a translator. He directed restorations of Dominicans Church in Kraków, altars of St. Mary's Basilica and Royal Graves of the Wawel Cathedral. He was a member of Academy of Arts and Sciences.Teofil Żebrawski był człowiekiem wszechstronnym, erudytą. Zajmował się kartografią, geodezją, architekturą i budownictwem, archeologią i entomologią, tłumaczeniami i bibliografią, matematyką i dydaktyką. Był oficerem. Pracował jako urzędnik odpowiedzialny za komunikację lądową i wodną w Wolnym Mieście Krakowie. Kierował restauracją krakowskich zabytków. Był członkiem CK Akademii Umiejętności

No full textThe paper concerns the Sylow p-subgroups of automorphism groups of level homogeneous rooted trees. We recall and summarize the results obtained by L. Kaluzhnin on the structure of sylow p-subgroups of isometry groups of an ultrametric Cantor p-spaces in terms of automorphism groups of rooted trees. Most of the paper should be viewed as a systematic topical survey, however we include some new ideas in last sections
