    Charles Norman was Dean of the School of Continuing Education at the American University in Cairo from 2010 to 2013. He describes the School’s administrative structure and units, and academic programs offered including English, Arabic, Business, and other studies. Restructuring and new programs instituted while he was Dean are outlined, as well as personnel, financial, and enrollment matters. He discusses SCE’s facilities at the Downtown Tahrir Square Campus, New Cairo Campus, and Heliopolis. Norman gives a detailed account of the challenges posed by the 2011 revolution and following two and a half years of demonstrations and civil unrest near AUC’s Tahrir Square campus, and the response of the School of Continuing Education’s administrators, staff, and students, as well as other AUC administrators
