    The CTD data on cruise MSM121 contain oceanic measurements of temperature, salinity, oxygen and pressure at 60 stations. The data were collected with the research vessel Maria S. Merian. Region: subpolar North Atlantic, 9°W-43°W, 41°N-50°N; Ports: Nuuk - Ponta Delgada; Date: September 22 - October 16, 2023. The data where collected by a CTD device of type SBE 9. The CTD was mounted to a metal frame with 22 water sample bottles, which was lowered from the sea surface down to 10 m above the seafloor. The sampling frequency was 24 Hz, the raw data were then interpolated on 1 dbar intervals. The CTD system was comprised of two sensor sets for temperature, conductivity, and oxygen. For every profile, the data given here are based on that set of sensors which were estimated to be of better quality. Salinity and oxygen data from the CTD were calibrated by comparison with samples from the water bottles. The bottle salinity was analysed by a salinometer of type Guildline Autosal 8400A, bottle oxygen samples by Winkler titration. The accuracy of the calibrated CTD measurements is: 1 dbar for pressure, 0.002 °C for temperature, 0.003 for salinity, 1.4% (about 3.5 µmol/kg) for oxygen.     δ18O and δ13C from sediment core of Lake Alchichica in Mexico

    The proxy data are measured from a 57-cm long sediment core collected from Lake Alchichica (19° 24' 38 N, 97° 24' 14 W, 2322 masl) at a water depth of ~ 60 m using a Uwitec® coring device equipped with a 9-cm coring tube. The core was split lengthwise, analyzed using XRF core scanning, and subsampled. A Bayesian chronology was created using 210Pb data and three 14C dates. For stable isotope geochemistry (δ¹⁸O and δ¹³C) of bulk sediments, samples collected at 1 cm intervals were analyzed at MARUM, University of Bremen, using a Finnigan MAT252 mass spectrometer with a Kiel III carbonate preparation device. Results are reported in delta notation (δ) relative to VPDB. Calibration involved a house standard (Solnhofen limestone) referenced to NBS 19 calcite, with standard deviations of 0.06‰ for both δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O

    Tholeiitic magmatic record on an extensional passive continental margin from the Woniusi rock associations

    Basaltic samples of the Woniusi rock assocation were collected from the northern, middle, and southern parts of the Baoshan block. Basaltic samples were selected for whole-rock major- and trace element analyses using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The international standards BHOV-2 (basalt), AGV-2 (andesite), and W-2 (dolerite) were used to monitor the data quality of major and trace elements concentrations. 87 Sr/ 86 Sr and 143 Nd/ 144 Nd isotopic analyses using multi-collector (MC)-ICP-MS. The87 Sr/86 Sr and143 Nd/144 Nd ratios of AGV-2 and BCR-2 (basalt) standards are in good agreement with the recommended values (Supplementary Table S5). Zircon U – Pb and Lu – Hf isotopic analyses were performed on two representative samples using laser ablation (LA)-ICP-MS and LA-MC-ICP-MS, respectively. The zircon Plesovice are dated as unknown samples and yielded a weighted mean 206 238 Pb/ U age of 337 ± 3 Ma238 (2σ, n = 40), which is in good agreement with the recommended 206 Pb/ U age of 337.13 ± 0.37 Ma (2σ; Slama et al., 2008)

    This dataset contains measurements of physico-chemical parameters, biofilm, and watershed characteristics from subarctic lakes and streams in the Narsaq area, Greenland, collected in August 2022. Water samples were collected and analyzed for temperature, conductivity, alkalinity, and nutrient concentrations. Biofilm samples were collected from stones, with chlorophyll a (Chl a), ash-free dry weight (AFDW), and carbon-to-nitrogen (C:N) ratios measured. Algal pigments were analyzed using HPLC for taxonomic composition. Watershed delineation was performed using a digital elevation model (DEM), and vegetation greenness was quantified via the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. This dataset contributes to understanding the environmental drivers of biofilm biomass and community composition in Arctic freshwater ecosystems

    PhytOakmeter (www.phytoakmeter.de) is a field platform using the Quercus robur oak clone DF159 outplanted since 2010. This platform is used to monitor the impact of climate change and land use management on the soil - plant - interactor complex. Sites from PhytOakmeter are located either in forest or grassland habitats and represent a wide range of environmental contexts with specific stressors. All sites are equipped with loggers measuring air- and soil temperature and soil humidity. Soil cores have been collected to analyze their chemical and physical characteristic. The FBOL plot in Toulenne (France) started in 2014 with 13 oak trees outplanted over a 40m x 40m grassland plots. Soil and air temperature were measured since 2018, soil moisture was measured since 2019, and soil chemistry was assessed in the bulk soil and the root-affected zone of trees in 2016, 2018 and 2022. Soil porosity and texture were evaluated in 2022

    Conductivity-temperature-depth profiles were measured using a Seabird SBE 911plus CTD during RV HEINCKE cruise HE669. The CTD was equipped with duplicate sensors for temperature (SBE3plus), conductivity (SBE4) and oxygen (SBE43). Additional sensors such as a WET Labs C-Star transmissometer, a WET Labs ECO-AFL fluorometer and an altimeter (PSA-916 Teledyne (Benthos)) were mounted to the CTD. Temperature, conductivity and oxygen sensors are calibrated by the manufacturer once a year before being mounted in January. They are used throughout the year and no post-cruise or in-situ calibration is applied. All other sensors are calibrated irregularly. Data were connected to the station book of the specific cruise as available in the DSHIP database. Processing of the data including removal of obvious outliers followed the procedures described in CTD Processing Logbook of RV HEINCKE (hdl:10013/epic.47427). This master track can be used as reference for further expedition data. For creating the master track, the 1-second resolution raw data acquired by the GPS position sensor on board S/Y Eugen Seibold were processed, averaging latitude and longitude within equidistant 10-second intervals. Quality control was performed visually and by checking the maximum speed calculated between neighbouring positions. In case of unrealistically high speeds, data points have been removed
