High resolved snow height measurements at Neumayer Station, Antarctica, 2024
At Neumayer-Station in Antarctica snow height is permanently monitored with a laser distance meter. The instrument measures continuously since 2013-01-01 and is located in the vicinity of the Air Chemical Observatory Neumayer. By design, the sample area of the surface is on the order of a few millimetre in diameter. Long-term trends of the measured snow height are strongly correlated with accumulation on the ice shelf at a horizontal scale of several kilometres. Short-term trends reflect dynamic changes of the surface and can be used to deduce information on surface roughness

Bulk organic carbon and nitrogen characteristics of an Antarctic snow petrel stomach oil deposit
Organic geochemistry, stable isotope analysis and elemental scans are presented here from a stomach-oil deposit collected at Heimefrontfjella Range, Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica. Stomach-oil deposit 3012MUM2 was collected in season 2014–15 from the Boysennuten nunatak in the Heimefrontfjella Range of East Antarctica (74° 34.14'S; 11° 15.02'W). The aim of the analysis is to investigate snow petrel diet during the Holocene and in turn to infer changing sea-ice conditions in the Weddell Sea and South Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean (Stevenson et al., Climate of the Past Discussions). The data include results from non-destructive XRF scanning, fatty acid distributions and other biomarkers of productivity and diet (Department of Geography, Durham University, Durham, U.K.) and bulk stable carbon and nitrogen isotope ratios (Department of Earth Sciences, Durham University, Durham, U.K.). The age-depth model is constrained by 12 new bulk radiocarbon measurements (Beta Analytic Inc., Miami; SUERC, Glasgow)
Temperature vs depth profile at heat flux station HF1767 of RV MARIA S. MERIAN cruise MSM69
The heat flux measurements presented in this report were made during expedition MSM69 on the German research vessel RV Maria S. Merian (November 14, 2017 to December 22, 2017). A total of 69 heat flux measurements (profile HF1760 to profile HF1767) were successfully carried out colocated with the iLAB reflexion seismic profile. The aim of the measurements was to investigate whether low-temperature hydrothermal fluids diffuse at the seafloor where the oceanic basement is not covered by sediments. While low heat flux measurements clearly show that cold seawater enters the subsurface, no diffuse leakage of hydrothermal fluids could be detected at any location
