No full textThis thesis addresses a common misconception regarding the implications of an identically zero Wronskian on an interval. The starting point is the study of solutions to homogeneous ordinary differential equations, with particular focus on Liouville’s formula, which shows that if the Wronskian vanishes at a single point, it vanishes identically. It is further shown that a set of solutions forms a fundamental set if and only if their Wronskian is nowhere zero. An example is presented to motivate a subsequent analysis of the Wronskian for arbitrary functions, where it is proven that an identically zero Wronskian does not necessarily imply linear dependence. Finally, a refinement of this result is given, an identically zero Wronskian does imply linear dependence on some subinterval, offering a subtle consolation to the common misunderstanding
Att Fly det Outhärdliga : Trauma, Fragmenterade Identiter och Konstruerade Verkligheter i Shutter Island och Slaugtherhouse-Five
No full textThis essay examines how trauma shapes identity, perception, and the construction of reality in Dennis Lehane’s Shutter Island and Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five by drawing on psychoanalytic trauma theory and trauma as belated, intrusive, and incomprehensible. The uncanny, dreams, and the death drive further contribute to the essay by illuminating how repression, repetition, and self-destructive impulses emerge in response to overwhelming loss and guilt. In addition, the theory of trauma narratives provides a literary framework for analysing how split chronology, fragmented perspectives, and imaginative reconstructions reflect the traumatised subjects. Through close reading of key conversations, dreams, and narrative structures, this essay examines different forms of traumatic response in the protagonist Teddy Daniels and Billy Pilgrim, suggesting that their respective realities may function as psychological survival mechanisms that lead to constructed realities. Denna uppsats undersöker hur trauma formar identitet, perception och konstruktionen av verkligheten i Dennis Lehane’s Shutter Island och Kurt Vonneguts Slaughterhouse-Five, med utgångspunkt i psykoanalytisk traumateori där trauma förstås som något fördröjt, påträngande och svårbegripligt. Det kusliga, drömmar och dödsdriften används för att belysa hur repression, upprepning och självdestruktiva impulser uppstår som reaktioner på överväldigande förlust och skuld. Därutöver tillämpas teorin om traumanarrativ som ett litterärt analysverktyg för att undersöka hur splittrad kronologi, fragmenterade perspektiv och imaginära rekonstruktioner speglar traumatiserade subjektet. Genom djupläsningar av centrala samtal, drömmar och narrativa strukturer analyserar uppsatsen olika former av centrala traumatiska responser hos huvudpersonerna Teddy Daniels and Billy Pilgrim, och visar hur deras respektive verklighetskonstruktion kan förstås som psykologiska överlevnadsstrategier som leder till konstruerade verkligheter.
Strategies for migrating from a monolithic to microservices-based architecture : An analysis of migration patterns with practical application through Microservice Extraction
No full textAtt migrera från en monolit till mikrotjänster ställer höga krav på teknisk precision och strategisk planering. Detta arbete syftar till att skapa en vägledning för en säker migrationsprocess genom att utvärdera metoder för inkrementell utbrytning. Arbetet baseras på en kombination av teoretiska studier och en fallstudie där en beräkningsintensiv tjänst, JavaScriptCompressionService (JSCS), extraherades med hjälp av mönstren Strangler Fig och Parallel Run. Utvärderingen av JSCS visar att en fristående mikrotjänst kan leverera både bibehållen funktionalitet och förbättrad prestanda. En av de mest signifikanta effekterna var den drastiskt reducerade bygg- och starttiden, vilket skapar förutsättningar för effektivare underhåll och oberoende uppdateringar. Samtidigt indikerar analysen att arkitekturen introducerar nya utmaningar, specifikt gällande minnesallokering och behovet av en robust infrastruktur.Transitioning from a monolithic to a microservices-based architecture requires high levels of technical precision and strategic planning. This thesis aims to provide guidance for a secure migration process by evaluating methods for incremental extraction. The work is based on a combination of theoretical studies and a case study where a computationally intensive service, JavaScriptCompressionService (JSCS), was extracted using the Strangler Fig Pattern and Parallel Run strategies. The evaluation of JSCS demonstrates that a standalone microservice can deliver both maintained functionality and improved performance. One of the most significant effects was the drastically reduced build and startup time, which creates conditions for more efficient maintenance and independent updates. At the same time, the analysis indicates that the architecture introduces new challenges, specifically regarding memory allocation and the need for robust infrastructure
Countering the ‘culture of oblivion’ : Reclaiming marginalised memories in post-dictatorship Chilean graphic novels and comics journalism
No full textThis paper focuses on the role of comics in countering the ‘culture of oblivion’ in post-dictatorial Chile by representing and engaging with the emotional and spatial dimensions/legacies of the Unidad Popular years (1970–1973). Specifically, it provides a close reading of Nicolás Cruz and Quique Palomo's , El Golpe: El Pueblo 1970–1973 (2014), which captures the atmosphere, passions, and emotions and struggles that culminated in the military coup in 1973. Drawing on theories of collective trauma and collective memory and by applying a textual and visual analysis, I argue that this piece of work functions not only as an important historical account, but as a powerful tool for preserving, interpreting, and transmitting the historical and political legacy of the UP-years, reclaiming previously (officially) silenced and/or marginalised memories/voices into focus. This is particularly important in a context that has recently seen the resurgence of political actors/groups aiming to distort factual events, seeking to forget the past, or simply legitimise Chile's horrible dictatorial past
The Strengthened Protection of the Reserved Share from a Perspective of Predictability
No full textI Sverige finns en möjlighet att vid sin bortgång, genom testamente, förordna om vem som ska ärva ens kvarlåtenskap. Den svenska arvsrätten regleras i ärvdabalken (1958:637) (ÄB). Ett visst hinder finns dock mot detta i form av laglotten. Laglotten innebär att arvlåtarens bröstarvingar alltid har rätt att få ut hälften av den kvarlåtenskap som enligt lag skulle ha tillfallit dem. Emellertid har arvlåtaren även möjlighet att redan i livstiden genom gåvor fritt disponera egendomen. Innan införandet av det förstärkta laglottsskyddet 1928 fanns inget skydd mot transaktioner gjorda i livstiden för bröstarvingar. Genom att med hjälp av det förstärkta laglottsskyddet kunna jämka gåvor, vilka till syftet är att likställa med testamente, stärks bröstarvingarnas skydd. Vid första anblick kan det antas att skyddet endast behandlar rena gåvor. Detta stämmer dock inte utan bestämmelsen utgörs av ett extensivt gåvobegrepp vilket gör att transaktioner där det benefika inslaget är övervägande likställs med gåvor. Exempelvis kan försäljning till underpris, efterskänkande av fordran och bodelningar räknas in i begreppet. I artikeln “Förutsägbart om förutsebarhet” i SvJT 2025 diskuteras begreppet förutsebarhet inom juridiken och för olika rättsområden. Begreppet innebär att rättssubjekten i en rättsstat har ett intresse av att på förhand kunna förutse rättsliga konsekvenser av ett visst handlande. Begreppet är mest omdiskuterat inom skatte- och straffrätt. Artikeln väcker dock ett intresse att diskutera förutsebarhet även inom andra rättsområden. I uppsatsen analyseras således det förstärkta laglottsskyddet och dess tillämpning utifrån ett perspektiv om förutsebarhet. Bestämmelsen om det förstärkta laglottsskyddet i 7 kap. 4 § ÄB ger inte mycket vägledning kring dess tillämpning, således krävs att andra rättskällor tillämpas. Genom undersökning av relevanta rättskällor framkommer att många av de rättsfall som är prejudicerande för området är över 50 år gamla och kritiseras i uppsatsen för bristande domskäl. I uppsatsen framkommer även att det förstärkta laglottsskyddet är förutsebart endast i viss utsträckning. Tillämpningen har vad som framkommit av de analyserade rättskällorna varit relativt konsekvent, vilket leder till en ökad förutsebarhet. NJA 2021 s. 605 och NJA 2022 s. 277 kan i viss utsträckning anses avvikande från den tidigare tillämpning som domstolarna fastställt. Det ska emellertid framhållas att förutsebarhet alltid står i kontrast till flexibilitet, vilket innebär att en total förutsebarhet inte är möjlig att uppnå. För att möjliggöra att bestämmelsens syfte uppnås krävs således en viss flexibilitet vilket återfinns i rättsfallen. Detta innebär inte att förutsebarhet saknar relevans för arvsrätten och det förstärkta laglottsskyddet. Således är förutsebarhet alltid intressant att diskutera och det hade varit önskvärt att ämnet diskuterades vidare även inom andra rättsområden

No full textTechnical debt is not just technical : An industrial case study in large agile software development
No full textSoftware organizations of all sizes are affected by the Technical debt phenomenon. Large organizations, however, are more prone to their non-technical aspects due to a large number of teams of different sizes, heterogeneity of expertise, and the need for continuous management and communication. This is even more emphasized in large agile software development contexts due to a focus on personal interactions and team collaboration, which consequently poses a challenge due to a significant increase in communication pathways. The goal of this study is to investigate non-technical aspects of technical debt in the context of large-scale agile software development. To achieve this objective, a case study involving four international companies was conducted. During the study, 24 experts were interviewed, and their responses were analyzed using a qualitative research approach. The analysis resulted in five non-technical aspects, which are: social dynamics, process, people, documentation, and requirements aspects, and their indicators, which are specific in a large-scale agile context. The study findings suggest that lack of communication, collaboration, and cooperation are the key contributors to identified debt aspects, technical debt accumulation through these non-technical aspects, and that many of the causes stem from a culture of not developing rules, protocols, or guidelines.

No full textThis thesis examines how conscience and conscientious freedom are understood and articula- ted in relation to priests’ obligation to officiate same-sex marriages within the Church of Swe- den. The study is based on an analysis of election manifestos published by a selection of no- minating groups prior to the 2025 Church Assembly election, a context in which questions of church order, individual conviction, and collective responsibility are publicly negotiated. The analysis is conducted as a theory-driven qualitative content analysis. Mats Aldén’s theory of conscience and conscientious freedom serves as the primary analytical framework, with particular attention to his ideal-typical distinctions between individual-oriented, balancing, and collective-oriented approaches to conscientious claims. These ideal types are operationalised through a coding scheme that enables a systematic examination of how arguments concerning conscience, responsibility, and institutional order are formulated in the material. The findings show that conscientious freedom is rarely invoked as an explicit concept. Ins- tead, questions of conscience emerge implicitly through discussions of priests’ personal convictions, their role as office holders and the extent to which individual beliefs may justify deviation from established church practice. The analysis further demonstrates that nominating groups differ markedly in how they position individual conscience in relation to collective norms. Some emphasise the moral significance of personal conviction and argue for organi- sational flexibility, while others prioritise equal treatment, institutional coherence, and the binding character of democratically adopted decisions. By analysing these differing approaches, the thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of how conscience functions as a contested concept in contemporary church politics. The study highlights how conscientious freedom is negotiated not merely as an individual moral con- cern, but as an institutional and political issue shaped by competing interpretations of responsibility, authority, and religious practice.

Denna uppsats undersöker hur Färjestad BK:s supporterskap fungerar som en sådan sekulär ritual värld, vilka handlingar blir ”heliga”, hur skapas lojalitet och gemenskap. Hur kan en ishockeyklubb ersätta eller komplettera traditionella religioner? Genom att använda Mikael Stausbergs teori ”religion as ritual” mot intervjuer, fältobservationer och klubbmaterial undersöker uppsatsen både teoretiska och konkreta exempel. Resultatet av uppsatsen kommer ge nya insikter om var människor idag hittar tillhörighet och mening samt erbjuda användbara perspektiv för klubbar om hur viktigt det är att skapa en gemenskap för sina supportrar. This essay examines how Färjestad BK's fandom functions as a secular ritual world, which actions become "sacred," and how loyalty and community are created. This study examines how an ice hockey club can replace or complement traditional religious beliefs? By applying Mikael Stausberg's theory "religion as ritual" to collected interviews, field observations, and club materials, this essay explores both theoretical and concrete examples of created community. The aim of the essay is to provide new insights into where people in today’s society find belonging and meaning, as well as offer useful perspectives for clubs on how important it is to create a community for their supporters. How hockey can stand to become an arena for collective belief is explored in the following study
