Student Rebecca Munulo sung the national anthem as the students and faculty processed into the auditorium. UNT President Neal Smatresk gave the opening speech, congratulating the graduates for their hard work. Daniel Suda of the UNT Alumni Association spoke briefly before Neal Smatresk and Victor Prybutok gave their closing remarks. The faculty and students joined in singing the alma mater, with the ceremony ending with the recession of graduates

UNT President Neal Smatresk follows, acknowledging the academic accomplishments of the graduates. Keynote Speaker Karen P. Moynahan then addresses the audience, before moving into the introduction of the UNT Community Award Recipient, student Nathan Davis. This is followed by a performance by featured performers Scott McClain and Shu-yan Chang on the euphonium and piano. Cathy Bryce speaks briefly before closing remarks from the Dean of the College of Music. The ceremony ends with a singing of the alma mater and recessional led by students of the Division of Jazz Studies
