    THE EFFECT OF LEADERSHIP, COMPETENCE, COMPENSATION ON WORK MOTIVATION AND ITS IMPLICATION ON PRIVATE LECTURER’S PERFORMANCE IN PALEMBANG

    The purpose of this study is to figure out the performance of the private lecturers in Palembang South Sumatera by the factor of leadership, competence, and compensation on work motivation and its implication on lecturer performance. This study uses confirmatory research method with 250 lecturers as respondents. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is used in analyzing data. The result shows that exogenous variable significantly affects endogenous variable both partially and simultaneously. The simultaneous test performed on leadership, competence, and compensation variable positively and significantly affect the lecturer’s performance. Next, leadership, competence, compensation, and motivation also variable positively and significantly affect the lecturer’s performance. Another finding shows that partially compensation doesn’t affect the lecturer performance. It is figured out from each exogenous variable studied that the improvement of the lecturer performance on research dimension and followed by work motivation on power need dimension is necessary to improve the performance of private lecturers in South Sumatera. This study concludes that leadership, competence, compensation, and motivation are very necessary for improving performance by noticing the work motivation factor as the intervening variable

    FLY ASH SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF PENGGANTI SEMEN PADA BETON GEOPOLIMER RAMAH LINGKUNGAN

    Pembangunan infrastruktur terus dilakukan untuk percepatan pembangunan dalam mengejar ketinggalan dan meningkatkan daya saing nasional. Pelaksanaan pembangunan harus ramah lingkungan agar tidak menimbulkan dampak negatif sehingga pembangunan berkelanjutan dapat terwujud. Beton geopolimer merupakan teknologi beton yang ramah lingkungan dimana bahan dasar dari beton tersebut bukan menggunakan semen, melainkan sisa pembakaran batu bara, yaitu abu terbang (fly ash), sehingga sisa pembakaran batu bara dapat dimanfaatkan karena fly ash yang tidak dimanfaatkan dapat menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengujian beton polimer ini menggunakan acuan SNI terhadap beberapa pengujian diantaranya pengujian agregat, pengujian kuat tekan beton normal K225 dan beton geopolimer dengan campuran larutan alkali berupa natrium silikat (Na2SiO3) dan natrium hidroksida (NaOH), dalam perbandingan 1:1; 3:1; 5:1 pada umur 7, 14, dan 28 hari. Dari hasil pengujian kuat tekan beton didapatkan kekuatan beton geopolimer meningkat pada campuran alkali dengan perbandingan 5:1, yaitu sebesar 395,56 kg/cm2. Kenaikan kuat tekan beton ini sebesar 41,20 % dibanding dengan kuat tekan beton normal dengan kuat tekan 232,59 kg/cm

    Enhancement of Navigation Systems of Mobile Robots in Gas Leakage Searching

    Gas leakage commonly happens in daily life. The leakage can cause many losses and even cause the death. Implementing human and animals in monitoring, checking, and finding the source of leakage can harm their life. The usage of the robot can give many advantages, i.e., it can be programmed easily, it does not feel tired, it does not need much time to be trained, etc. However, to control the robot in navigating to the leakage source is not so Haeasy. In this research, an enhancement of navigation system using two parameters inputs, i.e., distance and concentration of the gas is proposed. A distance fuzzy algorithm and gas fuzzy algorithm is implemented to the robot. The robot can use each parameter depends on the environment and situation that it meets. Both of the algorithms were successful in guiding the robot to move in the correct path. The robot could avoid the obstacles and find the location of the gas leakage
