Morphology and Taxonomy of Marine Benthic Diatoms (16), Genus Luticola (Diadesmidaceae, Naviculales) (Part 4)
No full textThe fine structure of a benthic diatom Luticola ventriconfusa has been examined using both light and electron microscopy. The following morphological features of this species are first revealed in detail through the present study. The raphe is a complex slit C-shaped in section. The areola is occluded by a hymen with perforations arranged in regular scatter pattern. The mature cingulum consists of four girdle bands, open at one pole, divided into two types: a valvocopula with two rows of areolae, has a crenulated edge (pars interior) fitting on top of valve ribs; three copulae with ligulae are thinner than the valvocopula. This species is distributed over a wide area from Okinawa to Kanto in Japan, and grows especially in the tidal river areas.底生羽状珪藻タマスジケイソウ属（オビフネケイソウ科）の Luticola ventriconfusa の生細胞と被殻微細構造を光学および電子顕微鏡を用いて観察し， 新たに以下の形態学的特徴を明らかにした．縦溝の断面構造は曲截型で，切断面はC字形を呈する．胞紋の殻内側開孔部は規則的散在型配列の穿孔をもつ薄皮によって閉塞される．半殻帯は最大4枚の帯片から構成され，いずれの帯片も片端開放型で，半殻帯の両端において開放端と閉鎖端が交互に重なる．第1帯片の接殻帯片は表出部に2列の胞紋列をもち， 内接部縁辺には小円鋸歯をもつ．第2帯片から第4帯片も表出部に2列の胞紋列をもち，各帯片の開放端の反対側にある小舌は，上に重なる帯片の開放端を裏打ちする．本種は日本では沖縄から関東の広い範囲に分布し，特に河口の感潮域に生育すると考えられる．公開日: 2024-02-20journal articl
An Attempt and Its Process to Foster Interdisciplinary Research Capabilities: Reading Seminar on Ethics and Sociology as a Case Study
Get PDF現代社会においては、専門性と学際性の両方が必要であると言われている。高度な専門性だけでなく、物事を多角的に捉えるための学際的な視点をも身につけなければ、科学技術が発達し普及した状況で発生する諸問題に対処することは困難である。学際的な研究能力の獲得を学生に促すことはどのようにして可能なのか、そしてその意義とは何かという問いに答えることが、本稿の目的である。筆者が担当する海洋政策文化学科の3年次の学生を対象としたゼミでの文献講読では、倫理学や社会学の文献を精読すると共に、それらを比較する学際的な視点を培うことが試みられている。異なる研究領域の議論を関連づけて捉えるためには抽象が必要であることが、この事例を通じて示される。抽象的な理論は、個々の観察事象を共通の枠組みで捉えることを可能にする。しかし、理論を用いる観察者自身が自己の一貫性を備えていなければ、観察を十全に遂行することはできない。したがって、学際的な研究能力を育成する試みは、教育を通じた学生の人格形成という大学の本質的な役割と深く関係している。It is said that both expertise and interdisciplinarity are necessary in the contemporary society. It is difficult to deal with the problems caused by the development and spread of science and technology without acquiring not only high degree of expertise but also interdisciplinary perspective taking things from various angles. The aim of this paper is to answer the question how students can be encouraged to acquire interdisciplinary research capabilities and what its significance is. An attempt of the reading seminar I am in charge of for the 3rd year students of the Department of the Marine Policy and Culture is to peruse the books of ethics and sociology and to cultivate the interdisciplinary perspective by comparing among them. This example shows abstract is necessary to relate the discussions between different disciplines. Abstract theory makes it possible to capture individual observations in a common framework. However, observations cannot be carried out satisfactorily unless the observer using the theory has his/her own consistency.
