    No full text
In this work, the mass attenuation coefficients, molecular, atomic and electronic cross sections, effective atomic numbers and electron densities of some selected indium complexes such as C5H10InNO9, C3H6InNO9 and C9H10InNO9, were determined with experimentally and theoretically using transmission geometry at 59.54 keV photon energy which emitted from 241Am annular source. The results were compared with the theoretical calculations which obtained from the WinXCOM program. Also, the results were interpreted based on some chemical parameters such as energy gap, ionization energy, electron affinity, hardness, chemical potential, electronegativity and global electrophilicity values of malonate, 2, 2 dimethylmalonate and phenylmalonate which were calculated using the density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP)

Herein, we report the results of our study on the homogeneous catalytic dehydrogenation of dimethylamine borane in the presence of Ru(acac)(3) and oleylamine (OAm) in toluene solution. The precatalyst system comprising Ru(acac)(3) and 3 equivalent OAm shows the high catalytic activity in hydrogen generation from dimethylamine borane solution. Monitoring the hydrogen evolution shows the presence of an induction period during which the homogeneous catalyst is formed, and then the hydrogen evolution continues almost linearly until the complete dehydrogenation of dimethylamine borane. UV-vis spectroscopic observation implies on the formation of a ruthenium(II)species. Using UV-vis, FTIR, Mass, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopies we could identify the presence of trans-[Ru(acac)(2)(OAm)(2)] in the solid residue obtained after the catalytic reaction. This complex might be a stable form of the active catalyst as it shows similar catalytic activity in dehydrogenation of dimethylamine borane as before. The precatalyst system comprising Ru(acac)(3) and 3 equivalent OAm provides 15,000 turnovers over 8 days with a constant turnover frequency of TOP = 77.8 h(-1) in hydrogen generation from the dehydrogenation of dimethylamine borane in toluene solution at 60.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C. Adding 3 equivalent OAm per Ru into the precatalyst solution increases the catalytic activity by a factor of similar to 5 and the lifetime of the catalyst by a factor of >9 compared to the ones obtained by using sole Ru(acac)(3). Kinetics of catalytic dehydrogenation of dimethylamine borane starting with Ru(acac)(3) and 3 equivalent OAm in toluene solution were studied depending on catalyst concentration, substrate concentration and temperature. The catalytic reaction was found to be first-order with respect to each of both Ru(acac)(3) and dimethylamine borane concentrations. The activation energy for the catalytic dehydrogenation is E-a = 58 +/- 2 kJ/mol.Turkish Academy of Sciences TUBITAK 221

Determination of K-Li Sub-Shell, Total K-L and Total K-M shell Vacancy Transfer Probabilities for Europium, Gadolinium and Terbium

    No full text
There are different ways to produce a vacancy in an atom such as photoelectric effect, Compton scattering, triplet production, charged particle Coulomb interaction, internal conversion, electron capture, positron annihilation and Auger effect. If an atom is bombarded with photons, electrons or protons which have enough energy for the ionization, the shell electron leaves the electronic cloud and the atom loses an electron through creation of a vacancy. The vacancy is filled either by emission of an X-ray, by Auger transition or Coster-Kronig transition which is special case of the Auger transition. These transitions are called radiative and non-radiative processes, respectively. In this work, to obtain the K-Li (i=2,3), total K-L and total K-M shell vacancy transfer probabilities for Europium, Gadolinium and Terbium elements, the experimental values of Kα1, Kα2, Kβ'1 and Kβ'2 X-ray production cross sections, K shell fluorescence yields and Kβ/Kα, Kα2/Kα1 and Kβ'1/ Kα1 intensity ratios were determined at 59.54 keV photon energy from a 100 mCi Am241 annular source using excitation geometry and a Si(Li) detector system. The experimental results were compared with theoretical values of Hartree-Slater and Hartree-Fock and other available experimental results

Tasavvufta, insanın gönlüne girmeyi her şeyden üstün tutan, yaratan uğruna kâinatta bütün yaratılmışları seven, sûfî anlayışı her devirde rağbet görmek vardır.

Annesi Mekke-i Mükerremeden göç etmiş Ben-i Hattap aşiretinden, Arap dedenin torunlarından Nazlı hanımdır. Altı aylıkken öksüz kalan Mehmed Atıf, dedesi Hasan Kethüda efendinin himayesinde yetişmiştir. Büyük babası Hasan Kethüda efendinin himmetiyle evvela köy hocasından başladığı tahsiline 1891 yılından itibaren iki sene İskilip’te, müderris Hoca Abdullah Efendi nezaretinde devam etmiştir. 1893 nisanında ailesinin karşı çıkmasına rağmen İstanbul’a geldi ve medrese tahsiline burada devam etti. Meşhur Çarşambalı hocanın rahle-i tedrisine oturdu. Meşihat –ı İslamiye dairesinde bulunan dersiamların mağduriyetini giderme konusunda yaptığı çalışmalar üzerine devrin Şeyhülislam’ı tarafından Bodrum’a sürüldü. Üzerinde yoğunlaşan baskılar yüzünden Kırım’lı İbrahim Tali Efendi’nin pasaportu ile gizlice Kırım’a geçti. Kırım’dan Varşova’ya kadar gitti. Meşrutiyet’in ilanından bir hafta evvel İstanbul’a geri döndü.
