    Analysis of some plant measures of narbon vetch (Vicia narbonensis L.) effecting plant length using path analysis

    The direct and indirect effects of sizes of fresh stem weight, dry stem weight, fresh leafweight, dry leaf weighton plant height of narbon vetch were in vestigated using path analysis in Bingol in 2014-15 years. The plant measures of narbon vetch between 4 and 6 weeks of planting were used.The results showed that the highest correlations at 5 week narbon vetch were determined between plant length and respectively dry stem weightand fresh stem weight(r =0.849 and r =0.824). The direct effects of fresh stem weight, dry stem weight, fresh leaf weight, dry leaf weight on plant length at 6 week narbon vetcies were determined respectively as 51.341%, 50.148%, 37.782%, and 24.276%, respectively. As a result, fresh stem weight, dry stem weight were the most efficient characters on plant length and it was concluded that these characters could be considered as significant selection criterias in narbon vetch breeding for yield under that the conditions

    An experimental investigation of effect of turning AISI 1040 steel at low cutting speed on tool wear and surface roughness

    In this study, the effect of different cutting speeds on cutting tool wear and surface roughness was investigated in turning operation. Cylindrical bars of AISI 1040 steel was selected as workpiece materials during this investigations in turning process. The K type coated CVD(Chemical Vapor Deposition) TiAlN ceramic tungsten carbide cutting tools were used in turning of bars. Surface roughness of turned bars and tool wear were accepted as criteria for performance evaluation of these cutters. Tool wear was determined by performing SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) analyses after conducting other experimental studies at a constant feed rate. Surface roughness values were also measured after every turning process. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of cutting speed, especially low cutting speed on tool wear and surface roughness. According to experimental results, decreasing of cutting speed forces the cutting tool more and increasing of cutting speed not only causes more coating wear, but also increase radius of cutting nose. However, the best surface roughness could be obtained in turning process for max cutting speed

    Eğitim ve öğretim etkinliklerinin temel amacı; öğrencilerde istendik yönde davranış değişikliklerini sağlamaktır. Eğitim amaçları yönündeki davranış değişikliklerinin öğrencide ne ölçüde gerçekleştiği ve öğrenci başarısına (başarısızlığına) etki eden temel unsurların ne olduğunun ortaya konulması önem arz etmektedir. Akademik başarı genellikle, öğrencinin psiko-motor ve duyuşsal gelişiminin dışında kalan, bütün program alanlarındaki davranış değişmelerini ifade eder. Akademik başarısızlık ise öğrencinin gözlemlenen performansı ile tahmin edilen performansı arasındaki farklılık olarak tanımlanabilir. Bununla birlikte okulda okutulan derslerle öğrencilerde sağlanması öngörülen davranış değişiklikleri bilişsel davranışlarla sınırlı değildir. Bu dönemde aile ve öğretmen tutumları çocuğun okul döneminde başarılı olması açısından önem taşımaktadır. Okul başarısı ise öğrencinin bulunduğu okul, sınıf ve derse göre belirlenmiş sonuçlara ulaşmada göstermiş olduğu ilerlemedir. Ancak başarı sadece akademik başarı ile sınıflandırılamaz, bilgi ve beceri gibi bilişsel davranışlar kadar, ilgiler, kişilik özellikleri ve tutumlar gibi bilişsel olmayan davranışları da içerir. Başarısızlık kavramı ise daha çok çocuğun ya da gencin uzun süreli (bir eğitim öğretim döneminden daha uzun süre) hemen her dersten, gelişim düzeyinin ve yeteneklerinin altında başarı göstermesi ve bu başarısızlığı bir türlü telafi edememesi durumu olarak kabul edilmektedir. Okul başarısı için zihinsel olgunluk tek başına yeterli değildir. Duygusal olarak henüz olgunlaşmamış çocuklar, kendilerine bir hedef koymada güçlük çekerler ya da okul ortamının gerektirdiği sosyal becerileri edinemedikleri için okulda bulunmaktan zevk almazlar. Etkili okul, birey ve toplumun eğitim-öğretim isteklerini en üst düzeyde gerçekleştiren öğrenci merkezli çağdaş bir eğitim-öğretim kurumudur. Eğitim-öğretim süreci ve ortamı boyutları etkili okulun önemli boyutlarındandır. Bu bildiride, Sorgun ilçe merkezinde MEB okullarında öğrenim gören ilköğretim ve orta öğretim öğrencilerinin, okul başarısızlıklarının nedenleri araştırılmıştır. An Appraisal On The Reasons Of School Failure: Sorgun Sample Abstract: The main objective of education training and activities is to make the students change their terminal behaviour. It is very important to reveal that what kind of behaviors of students are changed in the field of educational purposes and what are the basic elements which effect students’ success (failure). Usually, academic success refers to the behavior change in all program fields, except the student’s psycho-motor and affective development. On the other hand, academic failure is defined as the difference between the observed performance of students and predicted performance. However, the envisaged behavioral changes which are provided for students with courses at the school, are not limited with cognitive behavior. During this period, parents ‘and teachers’ attitudes are important for the child to be successful in the school. The school success is the progress to reach to results which are determined by the school where the student goes, class and courses. Nevertheless, success cannot be classified only with academic achievement; it includes not only cognitive behavior such as knowledge and skills, but also non-cognitive behaviors such as interests, personal characteristics and attitudes. Failure concept is accepted as an underachieving of the child or youth during long-term (longer than one academic period) in almost every courses and it is the situation that student does never make up this failure. Mental maturity is not enough alone for school success. The children, who are emotionally immature, have difficulties to set a goal for themselves or these students do not get pleasure being in the school because of not having the social skills in the school environment. Effective school is a contemporary and student centered education organization which has realized the education demands of individual and society in the highest level. Educational process and medium are important dimensions of effective school.     Examination of the various chemical properties of the Hizan region (Bitlis-Turkey) honey types.

    The objective of this study was to examine the various chemical properties of the honey samples acquired from 20 different locations in the Hizan district of the Bitlis province. All samples were acquired from the apiarists who are members of the Hizan Beekepers Association. To this end; analyses have been carried out for moisture, insoluble solid substance, diastasis activity, electrical conductivity, proline, ash, total sugar, free acidity, HMF, fructose ratio, glucose ratio, fructose/glucose ratio in 100 gr., fructose+glucose amount in 100 gr. in terms of grams. The moisture values of the samples were determined to vary between %15.44- %17.28, insoluble solid substance amount was determined to vary between %0.001 - %0.080, diastasis number between 10.0 mg/100gr - 26.1 mg/100 gr, electrical conductivity value between 0.18 ms/cm-1 - 0.25 ms/cm-1, proline amount between 414.2 mg/kg - 880.8 mg/kg, ash amount between %0.01 - %0.07, total sugar average between %69.09 - %75.28, free acidity value between 16.0 meq/kg - 26.1 meq/kg, HMF value between 6.5 mg/kg - 20.8 mg/kg, fructose ratio between 27.9 mg/100 gr - 41.3 mg/100 gr, glucose ratio between 30.6 mg/100 gr - 34.6 mg/100 gr, fructose/glucose ratio between 1.19 gr/100 gr - 1.28 gr/100 gr, fructose+glucose amount in 100 grams in terms of grams was determined to vary between 67.5 gr/100gr - 75.9 gr/100 gr. It was determined that none of the honey samples contained maltose and that only the samples acquired from Gayda and Keklik villages had very small amounts such as 2.7 mg/100 gr and 2.1 mg/100 gr. It was determined as a result of the studies carried out on the honey samples that especially proline amount was high. The fact that there was no sucrose in any of the honey samples except two put forth that no sugar has been used for feeding the bees. It was observed that the results were in accordance with the EU standards as well as the Turkish Food Codex Notification on Honey

    The Kα,β and Lα1,2 excitation probabilities for some elements in 56≤Z≤68 at 59.54 keV were obtained using a Si(Li) detector with a multichannel analyzer. It is the first time that the Kα,β and Lα1,2 excitation probabilities were determined for the present elements. To obtain the Kα,β and Lα1,2 excitation probabilities, the K and L3 shell/sub-shell absorption jump factors and the K and L3 shell/sub-shell fluorescence yields were determined experimentally. The measured results of absorption jump factor and fluorescence yield were compared with the theoretical and other experimental results. The determined excitation probabilities were compared only with theoretical calculated ones since there are no other experimental reports for the present elements in the literature

    The Synthesis and Characterization of Mannich Bases Derived from Compounds

    Aromatic heterocycles are very important motifs in medicinal chemistry researches. 1,3,4-oxadiazole exhibit a wide range of biological activities [1]. 1,3,4-oxadiazole and their fused heterocyclic derivatives has attracted attention due to their biological importance[2,3]. In this work, various new compounds including ring 1,3,4-Oxadiazole were synthesized from the reactions of hydrazide compounds with carbon sulfur in basic medium. Mannich bases were prepared by tiyol tautomer form of 1,3,4-Oxadiazole (Scheme 1). Furthermore, structure-activity relationship was evaluated in respect to effect of different substitutions in newly synthesized 1,3,4-oxadiazole series. Then these compounds were characterized by performing of melting point, FT-IR, 1H-NMR (400 MHz), and 13C-NMR(100 MHz)

    Purification and characterization of mitochondrial thioredoxin reductase enzyme from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) liver and investigation of the in vitro effects of some metal ions on the enzyme

    Thioredoxin reductase (E.C 1.6.4.5.; TrxR) is an enzyme belonging to the flavoprotein family of pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductases. In this study, mitochondrial TrxR enzyme was purified from rainbow trout mitochondria. Thanks to the 2 consecutive procedures (preparation of homogenate and 2’,5’-ADP Sepharose 4B affinity chromatography), the enzyme, having the specific activity of 11.9 EU mg protein-1, was purified with a yield of 2.38% and 672-fold. The purity of the enzyme was monitored and the molecular weight of its subunits was calculated as 70 kDa by SDS-PAGE. The native molecular mass of the enzyme was found to be approximately 151 kDa by gel filtration chromatography. Characteristic and kinetic properties of the enzyme were also determined. Furthermore, Se 4+ , Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , Ni 2+ , Fe 3+ , and Al 3+ metal ions’ in vitro effects on mitochondrial TrxR purified from rainbow trout was investigated. While Se 4+ ion increased the enzyme activity, all of the other metal ions used in this study showed an inhibitory effect

    Zikir kelimesi çok geniş anlam alanına sahip bir kavramdır. Hem Kur’ân-ı Kerîm’de hem de hadis-i şeriflerde zikrin meşruiyeti ile ilgili pek çok ayet-i kerime ve hadisi şerif vardır. Tasavvuf âlimleri, meşruiyetini ayet ve hadislerden alan zikir konusu üzerinde durmuş ve bu konuyu etraflıca ele almışlardır. Bu amaçla zikir kelimesinin geçtiği ayet ve hadisleri bir araya getirerek zikrin tarifi, çeşitleri, âdâbı gibi özelliklerini ortaya koymaya çalışmışlar. Muhammed b. Hasan es-Semennûdî de tarikat âdâb ve erkânı ile ilgili önemli bilgiler verdiği eserlerinde zikir konusunu ele alır. Semennûdî, tasavvûfî geleneğe uyarak burada evvela zikrin meşruiyeti ile ilgili ayet ve hadisleri ortaya koyar. Daha sonra zikrin tarifi, özellikleri, şartları, çeşitleri, âdâbı ve mürşidin müride zikir telkin etmesi gibi hususlarla alakalı bilgiler verir

    Seed Fatty Acid Composition of Some Medicago L. and Melilotus L. (Fabaceae) Taxa From Turkey

    Abstract: Fatty acids composition of plant oil of Medicago disciformis DC., Medicago orbicularis (L.) Bart., Medicago intertexta (L.) Mill var. ciliaris (L.) Heyn., Medicago scutellata (L.) Mill., Melilotus alba Desr. and Melilotus officinalis (L.) Desr. were analyzed. The fatty acid composition of these six different taxa were determined by gas chromatography. The fatty acid composition of plants used to this study showed different saturated and unsaturated fatty acid concentrations. The main fatty acids found were linoleic acid (19.43-56.25 %), linolenic acid (22.10-36.35 %), oleic acid (18.56-31.21 %), stearic acid (3.16-5.09 %) and palmitic acid (11.93-23.37 %); while other fatty acids were found in minor proportions. As a result, present study determined that all taxa had the highest total unsaturated fatty acid amounts (69.81-82.53 %) and the lowest total saturated fatty acid amounts (17.47-30.19 %). The higgest unsaturated fatty acid determinated to Melilotus officinalis (82.53 %), the lowest in Medicago intertexta (69.81 %). In the study of species, palmitic and stearic acid were found, the major saturated fatty acids. The other hand oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids in major unsaturated fatty acids.     İklimsel özelliklere bağlı olarak herhangi bir bölgeye düşen fazla yağışın bir bölümü perkolasyon ile yeraltı suyuna karışırken bir bölümü de yüzey akışa neden olmaktadır. Topraklar, yağış şiddeti, arazi kullanımı ve topoğrafyanın etkisiyle yüzey akışla taşınmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Murat Nehri üzerindeki Palu ve Akkonak sediment ölçüm istasyonlarına ait veriler kullanılarak Palu yağış havzasından taşınan sediment miktarı zamansal olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan hesaplamalarda 2000-2011 yılları arasında taşınan sediment miktarının arttığı saptanmıştır. Bununla birlikte Nisan ve Kasım aylarında sediment taşınımının yüksek değerlere ulaştığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda Palu yağış havzasından Murat nehrine taşınan toprak miktarı 9.8 milyon ton yıl-1olarak belirlenmiştir
