From Practice to Pixel: Personal Practical Knowledge and Technology Integration
This three-paper dissertation narratively explores the relationship between personal practical knowledge and technology integration. Each paper focuses on teacher and teacher-educator participants blended knowledge and their decisions and actions for technology integration in planning and instruction. Through employing the narrative inquiry to three papers, this dissertation examines participants (teacher and teacher educators) personal, practical, professional, and interpersonal knowledge to deal with technology-related challenges and who have been investing their efforts in fostering their best-loved selves from different venues. In the first study, I investigate how three teacher educators personal practical knowledge influences their ways to integrate technology while working with pre-service teachers, operationalized as their instructions,
rooted in their stories and actions. The second study aims to contribute to the literature on the influences of pre-service teachers personal practical knowledge on their ways to integrate technology in classroom. The third study uses autobiographical narrative inquiry to see how various factors influence my personal practical knowledge which comes from my personal, practical, and professional knowledge in multiple contexts
