Parallel Metaheuristic Algorithms for Task Scheduling Problems

保体センターに着任し10年間、興味を持った分
野の研究にじっくりと取り組めた。主に糖尿病患
者における新薬の脂質代謝、内臓脂肪、腸内細菌、
血管内皮機能（FMD）、最終糖化産物（AGEs）、
肝機能に及ぼす影響に関しての臨床観察研究を行っ
てきた。本誌には「運動とリポ蛋白リパーゼを中
心とした脂質代謝」と題して総説を発表し、運動
が脂質代謝を改善するとの結果も報告した。
最近では、運動と動脈硬化の評価因子である
Branchial-AnklePulseWaveVelocity（baPWV）
との関係を明らかにする研究を行ってきた。baPWV
とは脈（拍動）が上腕から足首に伝わる速度（脈
伝播速度）の事であり、血管が硬いと測定値が高
くなる。
「人間は血管と共に老いる」と言われており、
老化すると血管が硬くなる。すなわち、歳を取る
と動脈硬化になりやすくなると言う事である。糖
尿病患者に有酸素運動を負荷し、運動を負荷しな
い患者と比較すると運動負荷患者ではbaPWVが
運動をしない患者より低値であった。これは、運
動すると動脈硬化になりにくい体になると言う事
である。ただ、この効果は男女差があり、男性と
比べて女性は高齢になるに伴い運動の効果が薄れ
てゆき、運動の効果は女性ホルモンが影響してい
ると考えられた。話は代わるが、古来より望まれ
ていた究極の薬は「不老不死の薬」である。紀元
前、秦の始皇帝は不老不死の薬を必死になって探
し、方士（仙人の行う術にたけている行者）の徐
福とその弟子達を世界中に派遣し、日本にも渡来
したとの伝説もある。結局は見つからなかった。
私は運動が不老不死に繋がる唯一の強い薬だと考
えている。いつまでも健康を保つには一番良いの
が運動である。不老不死は無理でも遅老遅死を目
指して多くの患者さんにその人に合った運動をす
る事を勧めて来たし、今後も勧めたい。私は３月
で保体センターを退官するが、これからも保体セ
ンターで運動と健康をテーマにした研究が続けら
れる事を願っている。 （保健科学部）
「25～50歳で運動習慣がないと、歳を取ってか
ら体を自由に動かせなくなってしまう可能性が高
い」これは三重大学で行われた、50歳以上平均72
歳の人の現在のロコモ（ロコモティブシンドロー
ム；筋や関節などの運動器の障害に伴い、移動/
歩行機能の低下した状態）の程度と、青壮年時の
運動習慣との関連を調査した研究の結果です。
「定年になって暇になったら運動しよう」と思っ
ても、そうは問屋が卸さないのです。三重大では
働く世代の青壮年の方に体力測定（運動器健診）
を実施し、自分の現状を知ってもらって動機づけ
し、簡単な筋力トレーニング（ロコトレ）を一定
期間実施してもらった結果、多くの人で筋力アッ
プが見られたと報告しています。保体センター
でも、秋の健康診断時に、握力や椅子座り立ち
などの簡単な体力診断と、体脂肪率や老化の指標
の最終糖化産物（AGEs）測定などを、健診の
オプションとして実施しています。自分の体力の
現状を知るいい機会です。是非、受けてみてくだ
さい。
「毎日たくさん歩いているので、健康だ」と思
われるかもしれませんが、ゆっくり歩いていては

【本論文の概要】 
本論文は「擬声語（擬音語・擬態語を含む）＋と」型の副詞群に着目した日本語
史研究である。序章、本論 1～5 章および終章からなる。序章ではまず、副詞の歴史
的研究の状況と課題を整理した上で、出自と語形成が共通する語群として擬声語由
来の副詞を対象に位置づけ、個々の史的様相の精査によって、より一般的な語彙史
研究、副詞の文法史研究として帰納することを標榜する。 
第 1 章では、「きっと」の様相を論じる。現代語「きっと」が未認識事態に対す
る「推量」の用法を旨とし「確信」を表す「断定形」とよく共起するとした上で、
遡って近世前期までは認識事態・未認識事態を問わず、動作の素早さ・強さという
様態を示したとする。近世後期には事態の成立・存在や実現が確かであることを表
す陳述副詞へ変化し、明治大正期以降、未認識事態に対する「推量」用法への偏り
が生じたとする。背景として「断定形」が「確認」「確信」をともに表すために、認
識事態に対する用法が聞き手によって「推量」用法と解釈されたとの仮説を示す。 
第 2 章では「ちゃんと」の機能およびその歴史的な変化の過程を考察する。現代
語について、「擬声語「ちゃん」＋と」句を様態の副詞句相当の「評価的な修飾成分」、
状態性述語を修飾し否定のスコープ外に生起する類を叙法の副詞相当の「評価成分」
と位置づける。歴史的には近世後期に「評価成分」の例が見られて以降、その使用
が次第に定着するとし、変化の背景に「ちゃんと」が一貫して話し手の理想や規範
に合致した様態を表すという意味的な特性の影響があると指摘する。 
第 3 章では、中世後期までの「しかと」の用例を通時的に調査し、擬声語由来説
を批判的に検証する。実証的な用例観察から「指示副詞シカ＋助詞ト」に由来する
との立場に立ち、指示詞句から副詞化した「しかと」が、中世後期以降「擬声語「し
か」＋「と」」と捉えられるようになった可能性を指摘する。 
第 4 章では、「ずっと」の歴史的な意味機能変化の過程を考察する。「ずっと」は、
出現当初の中世後期には擬声語句の用法と継続量の副詞の用法を未分化な様相で
示すが、近世期には、擬声語句としては移動を表す動詞修飾に偏り、継続量を表す
副詞用法との分化が認められるとする。程度副詞の確例は近世期に見られること、
殊に相対名詞（上、下など）を修飾する例が早いことを指摘する。またこの過程が、
現代語「ずっと」の程度副詞用法の、比較と関わる特徴とも整合的であると述べる。 
第 5 章では、「きっと」「ちゃんと」を対象に意味機能変化過程の類型を考察する。
ともに話し手の理想・規範に合致する様態を表す擬声語句から、推意の表意化を経
て音象徴性を喪失し、認識的叙法の副詞となったとし、この意味機能変化の類型は、
他の副詞語彙にも適用の可能性があるとする。またこうした変化の類型的な把握に
よって、より一般的な語彙史研究ひいては副詞の文法史研究への貢献が適うとする。 
終章では本論文をまとめ、残された課題と今後の展望を述べる。

【本論文の評価】 
日本語の副詞の歴史的展開は、近年、文法史研究においても重要な課題として注
目されている。その一方で、副詞はその品詞的な位置づけも、範囲や下位分類にお
いても多様な立場がある。歴史的な記述観察にも一定の蓄積があるものの、語史研
究に終始しやすかった。より一般性の高い語彙史や、文法変化としての帰納的一般
化が目指されるなか、方法論や問題設定においても新たな試みが期待されている。 
本論文は、そのような研究状況のなかで、「擬声語＋と」という語形成の共通する
一群に着目した研究実践である。副詞の文法史的追究に即した方法論として、一定
の語群の通時・共時の様相の精査と、これを踏まえた一般化を自覚的に標榜してい
る点はごく妥当で発展性が認められる。具体的な考察の対象は 4 語であるが、その
用例はいずれも史的文献資料から渉猟されている。精密な語史研究の方法を踏襲し
た記述考察は、一例一例粘り強く吟味する論者の研究姿勢に支えられて信頼に値す
る。意味機能の変化の観察に当たっては、現代語文法論の研究成果も援用され、統
語的変化や現代語の様相との連関も丁寧に論じられている。例えば「ずっと」の程
度副詞化において相対名詞を修飾する用例群に着目した記述など、独自の成果が随
所に見られる。副詞は活用しない自立語句であり、その史的変化の観察は、ともす
れば解釈に依存し見解の不一致にも陥る。一方、本論文は、擬声語が本質として持
つ音象徴性に着目し、その本質ゆえに「擬声語＋と」句が特定の動作と結びつく情
態副詞相当句を構成するとし、その制約の喪失、すなわち幅広い動詞述語句や状態
性述語句を修飾する例の出現を機能変化の指標とした。客観的な指標に基づく記述
は、音象徴句が一語化し文法変化していく過程の事例研究としても意義が大きい。 
ただし、いくつかの課題もなしとしない。まず、枠組みとなるべき副詞論への言
及が不足している。論者は各章において、先行論の術語を堅持しながら記述観察を
進めているが、文法史研究への帰納をめざすという企図に照らせば、論者自身の立
場から、副詞という範疇へ踏み込んだ議論が期待される。擬声語由来の副詞という
着眼についても、その全体像に言及した上で 4 語の位置づけが望まれるところであ
る。各語の考察をふまえた 5 章において、変化過程に類型を見いだす試みが「きっ
と」「ちゃんと」の 2 語に絞ってなされた点も惜しまれる。対象の語群の変化過程に
見出される筋道の違いや遅速についても、例えば語彙的意味の相違などに着目した
言及の余地がある。しかし、本論文の記述観察は、副詞の歴史的研究に着実な進捗
をもたらして大きく貢献している。拙速な一般化を避ける慎重な姿勢も難点とは言
えず、堅持されてよい。上記の課題はいずれも筆者自身が今後の研究の積み重ねの
中で取り組んでいくべき発展的課題といえ、本論文の価値を損なうものではない。 
以上より、審査委員一同は一致して、申請者が博士（文学）の学位を授与される
にふさわしいものと判定した。

主論⽂の要約 
 
本研究は、教育課程分析、教科書分析に加え、授業観察及びインタビュー調査を通して、
中国のモンゴル⺠族学校の教師と⼦どもが⾃⺠族の教育に困難を感じる要因を、中国⼈で
ありながらモンゴル⼈でもあるという「複数のアイデンティティ」の視点から明らかにする
ことを試みた。 
本論⽂は、はじめに、序章、第⼀章から第六章、終章から構成される。はじめにでは、本
研究の問題意識を確認した。中国の教育は、政治と経済に奉仕し、社会主義社会の実現を⽀
える重要な⼿段とされている。特に、⺠族的平等の理念のもと、少数⺠族教育の発展が重視
されている。改⾰開放以降、中国の教育は量的拡⼤から質の向上へと重点を移し、2010 年
の「国家中⻑期教育改⾰・発展計画綱要」では、教育機会の公平化や質の向上が掲げられた。
その中で、少数⺠族教育の改⾰も進められ、⺠族団結教育の推進が⾏われている。しかし、
内モンゴル⾃治区では、少数⺠族の⼦どもたちが⾃⺠族の⾔語で教育を受ける割合が減少
し、アイデンティティの形成に課題が⽣じている。本研究では、この問題の背景を探り、少
数⺠族教育が⾃⺠族の児童のアイデンティティ形成に与える影響を検討した。 
序章では、まず本論⽂の問題意識を提⽰し、中国における少数⺠族問題、教育政策、およ
び⺠族教育の概要を述べた。次に、中国の少数⺠族教育に関する先⾏研究を「教育政策」と
「教育実践」に分けて検討し、現状の課題を明らかにした。さらに、これらの課題を分析す
るために、複数のアイデンティティの視点を取り⼊れ、理論的枠組みを構築した。最後に、
カリキュラムを「計画レベル」「実施レベル」「結果レベル」の三つに分類し、それに基づい
た⽅法論的枠組みを提⽰した。 
第１章では中国の教育制度の変遷を概観し、特に 1949 年以降の初等教育課程改⾰に焦点
を当てて検討した。中国の義務教育課程改⾰は、教育制度の整備を経て、「応試から資質へ」
という質的転換が進み、知育偏重から創造性・実践能⼒の重視へと移⾏してきたことを明ら
かにした。さらに、⺠族学校における使⽤⾔語、教育課程、教科書編纂の実態を分析し、現
代中国における少数⺠族教育の特徴を明確にした。 
第２章では、内モンゴル⾃治区における少数⺠族教育政策を分析し、中央政府が意図する
教育内容とそのカリキュラムを明らかにすることを⽬的とする。具体的には、A ⺠族学校で
使⽤される教育課程を調査し、「地⽅課程」の内容と時間割を検討することで、⺠族学校に
おけるアイデンティティの複数性を探った。調査の結果、⺠族固有の⾔語や⽂化を学ぶと同
時に、国家全体の教育基準に則った教育が提供されており、少数⺠族アイデンティティと国
家統⼀の複数のアイデンティティが育まれていることが⽰された。 
第３章では、⺠族学校におけるモンゴル⼈および中国⼈としてのアイデンティティの育
成が、異なる教科でどのように強調され、教師と⽣徒の間に葛藤を⽣じさせるかを分析した。
モンゴル⼈としてのアイデンティティは、「⺠俗」や「⾳楽」といった教科を通じて育成さ
れ、⼀⽅で中国⼈としてのアイデンティティは、「漢語」、「道徳」、「⺠族常識」といった教

科で強調されている。各教科で異なるアイデンティティが強調される中で、教師と⽣徒の間
で調整の困難が⾒られ、特にアイデンティティに関する葛藤が顕著であった。さらに、この
葛藤は⽣徒だけでなく、教師⾃⾝にも影響を及ぼしていることが明らかとなった。 
第４章では、⺠族学校における「モリンホール（⾺頭琴）」と「モンゴル語」の授業を通
じて、教師と児童が抱える葛藤を検討した。まず、「モリンホール」と「モンゴル語」の授
業における児童の葛藤として、伝統⽂化への関⼼の⽋如や、他⾔語との競争による負担が指
摘した。次に、「⺠俗」教育における教師の困難について、現代の教育システムとの整合性
や伝統的価値観の伝達に対するジレンマが浮かび上がった。⺠族学校では、⽂化的アイデン
ティティの育成と現代教育の調和が重要な課題であり、教師と児童の双⽅に多様な挑戦が
存在することが明らかになった。 
第５章では、内モンゴル⾃治区の⺠族学校における教師研修会を通じて、少数⺠族教育の
カリキュラムと指導法を検討した。研修会で提案された指導法が授業現場でどのように実
践され、実際の教育活動における課題は何かを明らかにした。また、少数⺠族教育改⾰期に
おける⾔語教育指導法の改善の現状と課題を考察した。 
第６章では、調査の考察と結果をまとめ、⺠族教育が⾃⺠族のアイデンティティ形成に寄
与しない原因を、学校現場では教科によって異なるアイデンティティが強調され、実⽣活に
馴染みのないアイデンティティを育成しようとしていること、こうした状況の中での単⼀
のアイデンティティの強要に原因があるとまとめた。最後に終章において、全体の議論を整
理し、本研究の課題と今後の展望を提⽰した。 
本研究は、中国における少数⺠族教育に関する学術的貢献として、主に⼆つの点を挙げる
ことができる。 
第⼀に、本研究は中国少数⺠族教育を複数のアイデンティティの視点から検討した点に
意義がある。中国の少数⺠族教育政策は、⺠族学校を通じて国家統合を図る⼀⽅で、同時に
「中国国⺠」としてのアイデンティティと、各⺠族固有のアイデンティティの両⽅を求める
複雑な状況にある。特に内モンゴル⾃治区における教育実践において、教育課程の設計や教
科内容において、アイデンティティの複数性が顕著に⾒られる。本研究は、尾辻（2016）の
メトロリンガリズムの視点を取り⼊れることで、少数⺠族教育における⾔語使⽤の流動性
と、異なるアイデンティティの共存をより明確に理解できるようにした。メトロリンガリズ
ムは、個⼈が異なる⾔語資源を柔軟に活⽤するプロセスに注⽬し、⾔語使⽤の対⽴的構造を
超えた動的な視点を提供する。本研究によれば、内モンゴル⾃治区の⺠族学校における中国
語とモンゴル語の使⽤は、単なる対⽴にとどまらず、学習者が社会的⽂脈に応じて両⾔語を
使い分ける過程として捉えられるべきであり、この視点に基づいた教育課程の設計が求め
られる。 
第⼆に、カリキュラム論を⽤いて中国少数⺠族教育の課題を明らかにした点が挙げられ
る。学校教育が児童のアイデンティティ形成に与える影響をカリキュラムの観点から具体
的に⽰し、特に意図されたカリキュラムと実施されたカリキュラムの間に存在するギャッ

プが、児童のアイデンティティの多層化を促進する可能性を指摘した。カリキュラム論にお
ける三層構造（意図されたカリキュラム、実施されたカリキュラム、達成されたカリキュラ
ム）を通じて、少数⺠族教育における教育政策と現場の実践との関係性を明確にした。特に、
国家による統⼀的な教育政策と地域⽂化に根ざした教育の間に⽣じる緊張関係が、教育の
実施において重要な役割を果たすことを⽰した。このギャップを無理に解消するのではな
く、教育現場においてその認識を深め、実践を⾏うことが重要であると強調した。 
本研究の学術的貢献は、少数⺠族教育におけるアイデンティティ形成とカリキュラム論
の視点から、教育政策と現場実践との相互作⽤に関する新たな知⾒を提供した点にある。ま
た、少数⺠族が複数のアイデンティティをどのように資源として活⽤し、社会に適応してい
くかに関する⽰唆を与えるものであり、今後の少数⺠族教育における実践的な指針となる
ことが期待される。 
また、内モンゴル⾃治区の A ⺠族学校における⺠族教育実践を通じて、アイデンティテ
ィ形成過程を明らかにすることを⽬的として実施された。調査⼿法として、カリキュラム分
析、教師へのインタビュー調査、授業観察を⾏い、現場での教育実態を具体的に捉えた。 
特に、教育政策や教科書の分析にとどまらず、現場での授業観察や教師へのインタビューを
通じて⺠族学校における実際の教育課題を明らかにする点において実践的意義があると考
えられる。 
中国における⺠族教育研究は主に政策や教科書に焦点を当てた分析が多かった。しかし、
本研究では、教師研修会に注⽬し、教師が抱える課題を明⽰したことに特徴がある。調査結
果から、⺠族教育における重要な要素として、モンゴル⼈としてのアイデンティティを確⽴
するための知識、概念、情緒が必要であることが明らかとなった。例えば、モンゴルと中国
における「天国」の概念の違いについて、教師がその違いに気づいていないことが判明し、
この気づきがあれば、より適切なモンゴル⺠族教育を実施できる可能性が⽰唆された。 
今後の研究においては、①調査対象の拡⼤と多様性の確保、②教授法の多様化とその影響
の検討、③多様なアイデンティティ教育の実態と理論的探求、④⺠族⾔語教育の継承と発展
などの課題を提⽰した。

In today's globalized world, international trade has undoubtedly become a critical driver of economic 
growth for nations. Public intermediate goods, which play a key role in economic and social progress, 
are deeply intertwined with international trade. The availability and quality of these goods significantly 
impact the flow of trade across borders. 
For example, the role of modem infrastructure such as ports, roads, railways, and air transport systems. 
These assets directly influence the efficiency and costs involved in moving goods internationally. A 
well-developed transportation network not only speeds up the transit of goods but also lowers 
transportation costs. This efficiency enhances product competitiveness in global markets, thus boosting 
trade volumes. Well-functioning ports and expansive transport routes ensure that goods can move 
smoothly from producers to consumers, helping businesses meet market demands quickly and reliably. 
The rise of advanced information and communication technologies has dramatically transformed 
international trade. High-speed networks enable the rapid, accurate, and efficient exchange of 
information, allowing businesses to gain real-time insights into market trends. This enables them to 
make quick, informed decisions and respond promptly to changes in the global market. Such 
technologies strongly support cross-border business communication and commercial transactions, 
thereby widening the scope and opportunities for international trade.delivery of goods. A lack of reliable 
energy resources can disrupt production, cause delays in the supply chain, and potentially lead to 
economic losses for businesses. 
On the other hand, insufficient maintenance and supply of public intermediate goods can have numerous 
negative effects on international trade. Traffic congestion and limited port capacity, for instance, can lead to 
major delays in transporting goods. These delays not only increase trade costs and risks but also weaken 
firms' competitiveness in global markets. Businesses may face higher transportation expenses and potential 
damage or spoilage of goods due to extended transit times, making it harder to maintain a competitive 
position. 
Additionally, inadequate communication infrastructure can be a major barrier to information exchange 
in international trade. Slow or unreliable communication systems can delay market responses, causing 
businesses to miss out on valuable opportunities. Inaccurate or delayed information can lead to poor 
production and marketing decisions, ultimately harming the efficiency and effectiveness of trade 
activities. 
Energy shortages have a direct and substantial impact on production activities. When there is an 
insufficient supply of energy, production lines might come to a standstill, restricting the output of goods 
and curbing a country's export capacity. This disruption can have a cascading effect throughout the 
supply chain, adversely influencing trade relations and potentially causing economic setbacks. 
In short, public intermediate goods play a pivotal role in economic development. The development of 
public intermediate goods such as infrastructure, education, and scientific research helps to improve 
financial efficiency and promote economic growth. Good infrastructure can reduce transportation and 
transaction costs for enterprises and improve productivity; quality education and research resources can 
cultivate high-quality talents and support technological innovation. The development of public 
intermediate goods positively impacts individual firms and the economy, with broad and far-reaching 
implications. 
Based on the principle of general equilibrium, this paper is structured into the following five chapters. 
The first chapter offers an introduction to the various types of public intermediate goods and conducts an 
exhaustive synthesis of the relevant studies carried out by previous scholars in this domain. By 
meticulously reviewing and analyzing the existing body of literature, a solid foundation is laid for the 
subsequent in-depth exploration and analysis. The main references utilized in Chapters 2, 3, and 4 are 
summarized and delineated. Building upon these papers, the influence of the supply of public intermediate 
goods on the models presented in the subsequent three chapters is examined. 
In chapter 2, by introducing an environmentally created public intermediate good into the model of a small 
country with a single intrinsic factor and considering the situation where the government supplies this 
public intermediate good through Lindahl taxation to ensure efficient private good production, two distinct 
and significant objectives are brought under scrutiny. The first objective pertains to the supply of public 
intermediate goods such that production under a given price attains efficiency, precisely where production 
occurs at the juncture where the slope of the production possibility frontier aligns with its price. The second 
objective is centered on the supply of public intermediate goods with the aim of maximizing the country's 
economic welfare under a given price. The detailed analysis of how the disparity between these two 
objectives influences trade patterns and trade profits yields highly illuminating and thought-provoking 
results. 
When the government adheres to Objective A, the trade pattern adheres strictly to the principles of the 
theory of comparative advantage. This implies that the government specializes in the production of goods 
whose relative prices are lower compared to the international relative prices when the economy is in a 
closed state, and subsequently exports those goods. However, in the case of Objective B, an opposing 
pattern of specialization and trade emerges as a possibility, wherein the government might potentially 
export goods that are comparatively less advantageous. Nevertheless, when it comes to trade gains, the 
small country invariably benefits from trade under both objectives. Furthermore, the welfare level achieved 
under trade is consistently higher under Objective B when compared to Objective A, or at the very least, 
remains on par. 
This analysis is based on the assumptions made by scholars such as Suga and Tawada(007), as well as 
Tawada and Yanase(2021) for the purpose of government, and those seemingly assumed by Manning and 
McMillan(1979). 
In this chapter, an incomplete specialization equilibrium may emerge in the case of Objective A. In the 
case of Objective B, the analysis is complicated by the need to consider strategic supply games between the 
two countries'governments. This issue will be the subject of future work. 
Chapter 3 builds upon the pioneering Harris-Todaro model, which was proposed by John R. Harris and 
Michael P. Todaro in the 1960s to dissect urban-rural migration and employment dynamics in developing 
countries. This model has shed invaluable light on the underlying causes of the urban-n江al income gap and 
urban unemployment in these nations and continues to offer a profound perspective for economic 
development and related policy formulation. 
And based on the Harris-Todaro model, many researchers have made a deeper examination and discussion. 
Corden and Findlay(1975), Beladi(1990), Beladi and Naqvi(1988), Yabuuchi(1998) and other studies are 
based on the Harris-Todaro model, and under the comparative static analysis of the approach to analyze 
the impact of factor endowments and technological progress on the Harris-Todaro model. Bhagwati (1968); 
analyzed the possibility of impoverishment growth occurring in small countries with open economies. 
Jones and O'Neil(1995) develop a two-sector economic model that identifies population, taxes in the 
rural and urban sectors, rural transportation, and infrastructure provided by the urban sector as factors 
affecting deforestation. They cited personal income tax as a source to product infrastructure, but do not 
detail how the tax is used in their model. Pham(2001) argues that utility differences between rural and 
urban sectors lead to migration. He also argues that the lack of certain goods and services in the form of 
infrastructure in rural sector, which are available in urban sector, contributes to this migration trend. 
However, Pham did not fully analyze the impact of infrastructure in his model. Ismail Issah, Tariq Y.Khan 
and Komei Sasaki(2005) consider that the presence of infrastructure may be an important reason in 
migration decisions. Jiancai Pi and Yu zhou(2012) develops several static three-sector general equilibrium 
model with different labor market structures to examine the impact of government provision of public 
intermediate good on skilled-unskilled wage inequality in developing countries. 
This chapter, predicated on the original Harris-Todaro model, undertakes an in-depth examination of the 
impact of fluctuations in the relative prices of public intermediate goods, fixed wages, and secondary output 
on then江al and urban sectors, unemployment rates, and economic welfare. This analysis is conducted 
without taking into account alterations in factor endowments. 
The outcomes derived from the meticulous calculations in this chapter are neatly encapsulated into 
Proposition 1 and Proposition 2. Proposition 1 delves into the intricate influence of public intermediate 
goods, fixed wages, and the relative prices of the two sectors on the level of labor employment. In the urban 
sector, the provision of an augmented quantity of public intermediate goods holds the potential to trigger an 
upsurge in labor employment as it generates additional job opportunities. In the rural sector, the 
construction of more public intermediate goods can have a dual impact on labor employment. If the 
construction encompasses public infrastructure such as roads and communication facilities, which boosts 
the demand for rural goods, firms are likely to increase their recruitment of labor. However, if it involves 
irrigation facilities, agricultural technological advancements, and mechanization that lead to a reduction in 
the demand for manual labor, the number of job opportunities might decline. Consequently, the 
unemployment rate can either ascend or descend due to the increase in public intermediate goods. 
Proposition 2 shifts the focus to the impact of public intermediate goods, fixed wages, and the relative 
prices of products from the two sectors on economic welfare. When the government sector enhances the 
supply of public intermediate goods, it leads to a marked increase in the economic welfare of the country. 
Similarly, an escalation in the relative international prices of products from both the rural and urban sectors 
also contributes to an improvement in the economic welfare of the nation. Conversely, an increase in fixed 
wages within the urban sector has the adverse effect of diminishing the economic welfare of the country. 
In an earnest effort to concurrently reduce unemployment and enhance the economic welfare of the 
country, a gamut of win-win policies has been contemplated and evaluated. These policies aim to strike a 
delicate balance between creating more employment opportunities and augmenting the overall economic 
well-being. 
Chapter 3 is analyzed under the conditions of a small open economy, whereas the original Harris-Todaro 
model discusses a closed economy. Therefore, in order to make a direct comparison between the results of 
the analysis and the original Harris-Todaro model, it is necessary to conduct the above analysis under 
closed economy conditions. In addition, in order to reduce the unemployment rate, policies such as 
subsidies or insurance can be implemented to ensure the livelihood of the unemployed. These issues can be 
discussed as future research topics. 
In chapter 4, traditional trade Heckscher-Ohlin model have always focused on the impact of differences in 
factor endowments on trade patterns and trade profits. On the basis of the Heckscher-Ohlin model, many 
researchers have also analysed the impact of public intermediate goods on the Heckscher-Ohlin model. 
Okamoto (1985), Ishizawa (1988), Altenburg (1992) examine how the inclusion of publicly provided 
intermediate goods affects trade patterns and the comparative advantages predicted by the Heckscher-Ohlin 
model. 
This chapter is similar to Abe (1990)'s paper, the assumption is made that production technology, 
preferences, and the factor endowments of labor and capital are uniform between the two countries. 
However, a key differentiating factor lies in the disparity in the amount of publicly supplied intermediate 
goods by the respective governments. Under these circumstances, the analysis zeroes in on how the 
dissimilarity in the provision of the public intermediate good shapes the trade pattern between the two 
countries. 
In contrast to Abe (1990)'s paper, which presumes that the production technology for each commodity is 
homogeneous with respect to labor and capital, in the current paper, it is hypothesized that it is 
homogeneous in relation to labor, capital, and the public intermediate good. Through this assumption, the 
aim is to meticulously scrutinize and delineate how the outcomes of this paper deviate from those presented 
in Abe (1990)'s work. The analysis commences by delving into how the magnitude of the supply of public 
intermediate goods influences the production possibilities frontier of the two product sectors within the 
home country. Based on this calculation, the effect of variations in the relative product prices of the two 
sectors on the scale of production in cases of national and foreign self-sufficiency is painstakingly 
computed. Finally, the discourse extends to the influence of the size of the supply of public intermediate 
goods on the scale of production and trade benefits in both sectors in the context of trade. 
The final chapter serves as an all-encompassing summary of the content presented in the preceding 
chapters. Additionally, a comprehensive list of references is furnished, acknowledging the contributions of 
prior research that has informed and underpinned the current study. Furthermore, a detailed summary of the 
diagrams necessary for each chapter is provided, offering a visual aid for a more lucid comprehension of 
the complex concepts and relationships discussed throughout the paper. 
Expanding on the discussion, it is essential to recognize that the influence of public intermediate goods on 
international trade is not static but rather dynamic and subject to various external factors. For instance, 
changes in global economic conditions, technological advancements, and policy shifts in different countries 
can all impact the supply and demand of public intermediate goods and, consequently, their effects on 
international trade. 
Technological progress, in particular, has the potential to revolutionize the nature and quality of public 
intermediate goods. For example, the development of smart transportation systems and advanced energy 
storage technologies could significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of the corresponding 
infrastructure, thereby altering trade patterns and competitiveness. At the same time, rapid technological 
changes might also pose challenges for some countries in keeping their public intermediate goods 
up-to-date, potentially widening the gap between developed and developing economies. 
Policy decisions at the national and international levels play a crucial role as well. Government investment 
in public intermediate goods, regulatory frameworks governing their provision and use, and trade policies 
all interact to shape the international trade landscape. For instance, subsidies or tax incentives for the 
development of certain types of public infrastructure can stimulate related industries and influence a 
country's comparative advantage in international trade. 
Furthermore, the concept of sustainability has gained significant traction in recent years. The supply and 
utilization of public intermediate goods need to be evaluated not only in terms of economic efficiency but 
also in terms of environmental and social sustainability. For example, the construction and operation of 
transportation infrastructure should consider minimizing carbon emissions and promoting social equity. 
This broader perspective on sustainability can have implications for the types and locations of public 
intermediate goods investments and, ultimately, for international trade patterns. 
Looking ahead, future research in this area could explore the potential for public intermediate goods to 
facilitate economic integration among regions or groups of countries. Additionally, the impact of emerging 
technologies such as blockchain and the Internet of Things on the management and effectiveness of public 
intermediate goods could offer new insights and policy directions. 
In conclusion, the relationship between public intermediate goods and international trade is complex, 
multi-faceted, and constantly evolving. A comprehensive understanding of this relationship requires an 
interdisciplinary approach that incorporates elements of economics, technology, policy, and sustainability. 
Such understanding is crucial for formulating effective strategies to promote economic development and 
enhance international trade in an increasingly interconnected world.

Combinatorial games are played by two players, and they do not involve randomness, and 
both players know all the information in the game. Many classical combinatorial games can 
be extended onto graphs, and combinatorial games on graphs are as prolific as board games. 
This thesis investigates graph games from two major aspects of combinatorial games. 
The first aspect is the winner determination. Due to complete information and no 
randomness, we can build a definite game tree for a position and determine the winner by 
searching all the tree nodes. This naive algorithm works for any rulesets. However, the 
number of positions is so large that, in most cases, the algorithm's computation is never 
completed in a realistic amount of time. Hence, we are interested in discovering more 
efficient algorithms and their existence. CRAM and DOMINEERING, which are simple and 
famous board games, are well-studied in terms of combinatorial game theory, and seems to 
be far from trivial to determine the winner of CRAM and DOMINEERING on wide boards, and 
their computational complexity is still open. CRAM and DOMINEERING are interpreted as 
graph games, and ARC KAYLES is known as a graph generalization of CRAM. ARC KAYLES 
was proposed to evaluate KAYLES from the point of view of computational theory in 1978. 
In ARC KAYLES, the action of a player in a turn is to select an edge of undirected graph 𝐺𝐺, 
and then the selected edge and its neighboring edges are removed from 𝐺𝐺. If no edge 
remains in the resulting graph, the player of the turn loses the game. ARC KAYLES includes a 
matching structure as the edges selected throughout a play form a maximal matching on the 
input graph. 
In this paper, we design exponential-time algorithms to determine the winner of COLORED 
ARC KAYLES, which is a generalized game of CRAM, DOMINEERING, and ARC KAYLES. We 
first propose an 𝑂𝑂∗(2𝑛𝑛)-time algorithm for COLORED ARC KAYLES. We then design 
algorithms exploiting graph structural properties. The graph structure we focus on is vertex 
cover since the size of any maximal matching of an input graph is linearly related to the 
vertex cover number. We present an 𝑂𝑂∗(1.4143𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯2+3.17𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯)-time algorithm for COLORED

ARC KAYLES, where 𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯 is the vertex cover number. We also give a bad instance for the 
proposed algorithm, which implies the running time analysis is asymptotically tight. 
Furthermore, we prove that COLORED ARC KAYLES has a polynomial kernel parameterized 
by 𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯, and a kernelized graph can be constructed in polynomial time. The result leads to a 
𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯𝑂𝑂(𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯) + 𝑛𝑛𝑂𝑂(1)-time algorithm for COLORED ARC KAYLES. Also, we propose winner 
determination algorithms for ARC KAYLES. On general graphs, the winner of ARC KAYLES 
is determined in 𝑂𝑂∗((𝑛𝑛/𝐧𝐧𝐧𝐧 + 1)𝐧𝐧𝐧𝐧)-time, where 𝐧𝐧𝐧𝐧 is the neighborhood diversity of an 
input graph. We prove that the winner determination of ARC KAYLES on trees can be solved 
in time 𝑂𝑂∗(7𝑛𝑛/6)(= 𝑂𝑂(1.3831𝑛𝑛)), which improves 𝑂𝑂∗(3𝑛𝑛/3)(= 𝑂𝑂(1.4423𝑛𝑛)) obtained 
by a direct adjustment of the analysis of Bodlaender et al.'s 𝑂𝑂∗(3𝑛𝑛/3)-time algorithm for 
NODE KAYLES. Furthermore, we give another running time parameterized by 𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯 to the 
algorithm, in time 𝑂𝑂∗(5𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯/2)(= 𝑂𝑂(2.2361𝐯𝐯𝐯𝐯)). We also present computational complexity 
results of winner determination problems; COLORED ARC KAYLES is NP-hard, TURNING 
TILES is PSPACE-complete, and OSTLE is PSPACE-hard. 
The other aspect that we consider in this thesis is universality. A ruleset 𝑅𝑅 is called 
universal if, for any position 𝑋𝑋 in any short combinatorial games with normal play, there 
exists a position 𝐺𝐺 in 𝑅𝑅 such that 𝐺𝐺 = 𝑋𝑋. The universality of a ruleset implies that the 
ruleset is sufficiently complex in terms of the game value analysis. In 2019, GENERALIZED 
KONANE was found to be universal, which is the first universality result. Later, TURNING 
TILES, GO ON LATTICE, BEYOND THE DOOR, and DIGRAPH PLACEMENT have also been 
shown to be universal. In this thesis, we prove the universality of partisan variants of 
GENERALIZED GEOGRAPHY. We prove that all (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-GEOGRAPHY is universal even if the 
input graph is a tree embeddable on a grid. Since (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-GEOGRAPHY can naturally 
represent a game tree, the universality of (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-GEOGRAPHY is not surprising. On the 
other hand, we consider (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-GEOGRAPHY to be important from the viewpoint of 
computational complexity theory; the winner in all (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-GEOGRAPHY on trees can be 
determined in polynomial time. Namely, there are universal rulesets whose winner 
determination problems are in P, while all rulesets previously known to be universal are 
PSPACE-complete. Under the assumption of P≠PSPACE, it means that there is no 
containment relationship between the set of universal rulesets and the set of rulesets whose 
winner determination problems are PSPACE-hard. Moreover, we think that grid restrictions 
of (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-GEOGRAPHY might be helpful to show the universality of board games by 
reductions. As a concrete example, we give a game-value reduction from (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-
GEOGRAPHY to TURNING TILES. We also discuss the universality of (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-TRON, another 
variation of partisan GENERALIZED GEOGRAPHY. The ruleset (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽, 𝛾𝛾)-TRON involves two 
players and two tokens. One of the tokens belongs to one player, and the other belongs to 
the other. We prove that (𝛼𝛼,𝛽𝛽,𝑉𝑉)-TRON, which are not allowed to use the same vertices
