Measuring the time‐varying market efficiency in the prewar and wartime Japanese stock market，1924–1943
Get PDFThis study examines the adaptive market hypothesis in the prewar and wartime Japanese stock market using a new market capitalization-weighted price index．First，we find that the degree of market efficiency varies over time and with major historical events. This implies that the hypothesis is supported in this market．Second，we find that the variation in market efficiency observed in this study is significantly different from that in previous studies．Finally，as government intervention in the market intensified throughout the 1930s，market efficiency declined as the war risk premium rose，especially from the time when the Pacific War became inevitable．journal articl

Influence of Designers and Development Stories Information on Product Attractiveness in the Automotive Industry
Get PDFDisclosure of producers' faces and development stories has long been used as marketing communication to enhance the appeal of products. The former is mainly used in the food industry, and the latter in theme parks and the real estate industry. However, in industrial products, there are few business cases, and the accumulation of academic research is also scarce. Therefore, in this study,we investigated the influence of information on designers and development stories on the attractiveness of products in the automobile industry. Results of a randomized controlled trial in an online survey environment revealed that the development story confers a positive appeal on the attractiveness of the product, although no significant effect was detected on the designer.
