Structure of Yttrium and Phosphorus-Containing Microspheres Prepared by Spray Dry Method
Microspheres containing yttrium (Y) and/or phosphorus (P) around 25 µm are useful for radioembolization therapy because they are activated to β-emitter by neutron bombardment and infused in blood vessels in the neighborhood of tumors to irradiateβ-rays to the tumors. In this study, we attempt to prepare Y and P-containing microspheres by spray drying method. Starting solution containing yttrium nitrate and phosphoric acid in equimolar ratio was spray dried under various conditions. Microspheres 5-30 µm in size are obtained when the starting solution with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) binder was spray-dried at the atomizing pressure of 0.05 MPa. When the microspheres were heated at 1100ºC for 1 h, they precipitated Y-containing crystals such as yttrium phosphate (YPO4), yttrium oxide (Y2O3), yttrium polyphosphate (Y(PO3)3) and yttrium tetraphosphate (Y2P4O13) but most of them were ruptured. Without the PVA binder, small microspheres around 5 µm in size were formed but their shape remained even after the heat treatment. We found that the atomizing pressure of spray dryer remarkably affects the size of microspheres and PVA binder is essential to obtain microspheres around 25 µm, but addition of pH adjuster to starting solution is not essential. IGBT chip current imaging system by scanning local magnetic field

This system can capture current redistribution or oscillation inside or among chips on a DBC-level sub-module. It can perform failure analysis of power semiconductors by detecting problems such as nonuniform current distribution between bonding wires. The system scans the chip’s shape using a laser sensor and then records the local magnetic field near the bonding wire using a 4-axis robot coil sensor. The coil sensor has two pair of Cu patterned spiral coils symmetrically arranged on both sides of a 60-μm-thick polyimide film. The system enables the analysis of destructive current concentrations of the entire chip, among chips or a part of the chip under high current or high voltage switching conditions, without making any changes or disassembling the chip connections
Temporal Subtraction Method for Thoracic MDCT Image by Using Intensity Gradient Information
Recently, CAD system has been introduced as a visual screening method in medical field. Also, temporal subtraction method, which enhances temporal changes such as the abnormalities on the image, is implemented as one of technique for CAD by subtracting previous image from current one. Image registration techniques are required for the temporal subtraction method. If the accuracy of image registration is insufficiently, normal structure elements which should be removed are remained on subtraction image. In this study, a novel image registration method for temporal subtraction technique on thoracic MDCT images has been developed to reduce the subtraction artifacts by using intensity gradient information. The proposed method has been applied to thoracic MDCT images, and its efficiency has been indicated
