Integrated Control Channel Mechanism for Efficient Channel Utilization in TDMA for WLAN Networks

    No full text
In this paper we introduced a custom TDMA MAC Layer Protocol. The main idea which actuated the research was to simulate a complex MAC Protocol in a wireless environment and espy its behavior under different physical, traffic, and network configurations. The TDMA protocol itself is completely custom and not based on any one particular industry specification. Our approach is ideal for exchanging data and control information in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) and wireless mesh networks so that resource needs (in terms of slot availability) of participating nodes can be rapidly accommodated for Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees. The approach described in this paper allow an efficient resource allocation strategy such that each participating node can converge to a consistent TDMA control slot usage that is optimum for the topology and resource demand of a dynamic wireless network environment and then we further proceeded with capacity planning for such networks based on the optimum control slot usage

Improved Distributed Genetic Algorithms Based on Their Methodologies

    No full text
In this paper we evaluates the effectiveness of three different distributed genetic algorithms (DGAs). The first one is DGA with Diversity Guided Migration, second one is DGA with Automated Adaptive Migration and the last one is DGA with Bicoded chromosomes and confidence rates. All these algorithms were investigated to improve the overall quality of solutions in the distributed genetic algorithm for different problems. Our comparison between those algorithms depended on some important factors ;like, achieving diversity in selecting individuals, process of replacing the individuals between subpopulations, computational time and memory space. As a result, DGA with Diversity Guided Migration (DGM), was nominated to be better than the other DGAs. It improves the performance for many problems and search spaces

Performance evaluation of novel scheduling algorithms for G/M/1 queueing system with multiple classes of self-similar traffic input

    No full text
the continued dramatic increase in different types of end-user traffic in the internet requires different performance characteristics in terms of guaranteed QOS. It has been shown through high quality studies that internet traffic exhibit self-similarity and burstiness over a large range of time scales. unlike most existing studies that are generally contingent on simple rule of thumb such as Poisson models, this research introduces promising analytical performance models for multiple queue system with self-similar traffic input being scheduled by novel scheduling algorithms to support differentiated traffic classes with guaranteed QOS. Our models are substantiated on G/M/1 queueing system that takes into account multiple classes of traffic exhibiting self-similar and long-range dependent characteristics. We analyze the model on the basis of two different scheduling mechanisms and find different QoS parameters such as packet delays and packet loss rate for corresponding traffic classes. We also build a comprehensive discrete event simulator, which implements the traffic model and evaluate the QoS behavior of self-similar traffic under new proposed scheduling schemes

Indexing Size Approximation of WWW Repository with Leading Information Retrieval and Web Filtering Robots

    No full text
The biggest information system of World Wide Web indexing is critical to estimate. Web is the beneficial and growing scientific utility like digital library to explore electronic literature to its lovers. Indexing estimation of WWW information is an open problem since 1998. Yahoo has claimed 19 billion web documents as its indexed size on which Google is not satisfied because in accordance with last published study by Gulli and Signorini the total indexed web size was around 11.5 billion pages. Web is growing hastily; what is the current size of web? Which search engine possesses large indexing of authentic information (PDF files)? Which search engine provides large indexing of all types of Web pages? This review article provides the answers of all above questions. We estimated the index size of leading search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) under easy and cost effective approach because if easy way persists then why we select tough heuristics. Our technique relies on querying over the search engines with selected common affixes that can be a part of each and every document or web page. This review paper concludes the total size of present indexed web contents and provides comparative analysis to support scholars which search engine has more authentic information and large indexing size

Analysis of Enterprise Service Buses based on Information Security, Interoperability and High-availability using

    No full text
This research study stresses upon the comparative analysis between commercial and non-commercial Enterprise Service Buses (ESB) for large-scale organizations. We have used Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) method known as Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) based on three criteria that is Information Security (IS), Interoperability and High Availability (IHA). Many comparative analysis reports and papers are available having proven results of comparing non-commercial ESB(s), however, very few reports were found having performed their analysis on commercial ESB(s). We have performed this analysis on the basis of mathematical and graphical proofs by comparing commercially known ESB that is Oracle ESB with two non-commercial yet very famous ESB(s) that is Mule and Fuse. This research analysis will motivate decision makers to choose the best rated ESB on the basis of our criteria. To achieve our objective, we have presented the problem as hierarchy, established the priorities, criteria, and performed mathematical computing and presented graphs to prove our analysis

Proposal of an End-to-End Emergency Medical System

    No full text
A new comprehensive emergency system has been proposed to facilitate and computerize all the processes involved in an emergency from the initial contact to the ambulance emergency system, to finding the right and nearest available ambulance, and through to accessing a Smart Online Electronic Health Record (SOEHR). The proposed system will critically assist in pre-hospital treatments, indentify availability of the nearest available specialized hospital and communicate with the Hospital Emergency Department System (HEDS) to provide early information about the incoming patient for preparation to receive and assist

    Mobile Emergency System and integration

    No full text
A new advanced medical emergency system has been proposed and designed to facilitate and computerize all the processes involved in an emergency. The proposed system contacts the ambulance emergency system, locates the correct and nearest available ambulance, accesses a Smart Online Electronic Health Record (SOEHR) that can critically assist in pre-hospital treatments; and identifies availability of the nearest available specialized hospital all through communication with the Hospital Emergency Department System (HEDS) which provides early and continuous information about the incoming patient to the hospital. Emerging and advanced technologies such as mobile web services, SOA, SOAP, HL7 and GPS have been extensively used to design, develop and integrate all system components

Use of Learning Portals in Education in the Arab Region"

    No full text
With the advancement of Internet and World Wide Web the definition of business, entertainment and education has changed in astonishing ways. In late 1990s web portals opened a new arena for organizations because the use of portals has enabled content providers to make information from various sources accessible to their employees or customers with varying interests. Nowadays we have a variety of portals available offering different services like public services, health services, educational services as well as media and entertainment. In this paper our focus is on the portals providing services in educational context called the Learning Portals

A Quantum-Inspired Differential Evolution Algorithm for Solving the N-Queens Problem

    No full text
In this paper, a quantum-inspired differential evolution algorithm for solving the N-queens problem is presented. The N-queens problem aims at placing N queens on an NxN chessboard, in such a way that no queen could capture any of the others. The proposed algorithm is a novel hybridization between differential evolution algorithms and quantum computing principles. Accordingly, differential evolution algorithms have been enhanced by the adoption of some quantum concepts such as quantum bits and states superposition. The use of the quantum interference has allowed this hybrid approach to have a remarkable efficiency and good result

Author Assertion of furtive Write Print Using Character n-Grams

    No full text
The exceptionality of shape and style of authors can be used for author's identification. The goalmouth of authorship attribution is to identify a set of features that remain relatively constant among a number of writings by a particular author. This paper deals with text author identification problem using character n-grams. However, the commonly usage is total n-gram for identification purpose but we consider all types of n-grams e.g. initial, medial, final and total bi.grams and tri.grams. Experiments show that authors profiles generated with initial bi.grams and initial tri.grams are effective in identifying texts authors in comparison with other n-gram profiles. The results disclosed in this paper leads to approximate 100% accuracy in identifying the author from unknown text
