a panel data analysis using fixed and random effect
Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of Development Policy,2019The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Free Trade Agreement of Indonesia on its export performance using panel data. Panel data in this study consists of relevant variables from 50 Indonesian trading partner countries between 2007-2017. The export performance based on value of two leading commodities of Indonesia and other two prioritized commodities will be treated as dependent variable. While as the independent variable this study will employ dummy Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and several variables which are observed from country partner such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Population, Logistic Performance Index (LPI), average tariff and the exchange rate of country partner to Indonesian Rupiah. This study conducted the multiple regression by using fixed and random effect model to analyze the panel data. Importantly, Hausman Test conducted to elect the best fitted estimation between Fixed and Random Effect regression model. Hence, this study will cast a light on how significant Free Trade Agreement affects Indonesian export performance based on the leading commodities by taking into account factors that affect trade in general. Moreover, the fitted regression results yield significant coefficient of Free Trade Agreement in improving manufactures, low-technology, and high-technology commodities export value. Whereas it does not give significant effect in food commodities. Equally important, this study conclude that diverse variables affect export value differently based on the products characteristic, consumer preference, and market condition.1 Introduction

case of relocation
Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of Public Management,2019‘Geographical relocation’ has been conducted to alleviate overcrowding and support balanced regional development in many countries. Recently, in Korea, the ongoing policy of relocating public organizations and building innovative cities were implemented in 2004 when the ‘Special Act on Balanced National Development’ was enacted. As of 2018, there were a total of 154 public institutions relocated. At a time when the effectiveness of the relocation should be measured, there has been little prior researches addressing job satisfaction and life satisfaction of relocators in the public sector in Asia. Thus, the aim of the study was to examine the determinants of job satisfaction and life satisfaction and correlation between the two different satisfactions. The study presented here investigated the following research questions: i) Does working conditions in the new workplace affect job satisfaction?; ii) Does interactivity in the new workplace affect job satisfaction?; iii) Does the social infrastructure in the new location affect life satisfaction?; iv) Does social activity in the new location affect life satisfaction?; v) Is there a correlation between job satisfaction and life satisfaction? The study collected data through an online survey and applied statistical analysis using factor analysis, regression, and ANOVA. The result of analysis support that of working condition variables, work system and development opportunity affect job satisfaction, and interactivity such as building relationship and building trust affect job satisfaction. When it comes to life satisfaction, both social infrastructure and social activity are influential factors. There was a positive correlation between job satisfaction and life satisfaction. The current study provides implications theoretically and managerially for future research on satisfaction of employees in the public sector in case of relocation.I. Introduction

Evaluating the impact of IMF bailouts on policy rate and bank credit dynamics in Sub-Saharan Africa
Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of Development Policy,2019Over the past five decades, the International Monetary Fund which was set up in 1944 in New Hampshire as part of the Bretton Woods institution has become and international lender of last resort. This portfolio allows member countries to apply for support in the event of a balance of payment deficit. These loans or support programmes come with conditionalities where there is enforced discipline in the monetary and fiscal framework of the lendee country.
Countries in Sub-Saharan Africa over the past decades have dealt with the IMF over a number of programmes from Structural Adjustments to Extended Credit facility programmes. Many have questioned the short and long run results of such programmes due to the conditionalities attached. This study primarily focused on assessing the impact of IMF bailouts on monetary policy rates, foreign direct investment and domestic credit to the private sector.
The study in using panel data with fixed effects and random effects of African countries from 2004 to 2018 found out that IMF bailouts had a positive relationship with monetary policy rate and was negatively correlated with foreign direct investments and domestic credit to the private sector. The recommendations made were that, the independence of the central bank must be maintained such that the setting of the monetary policy rate is not influenced by IMF agreements. Again it was recommended that governments should set up special institutions that will provide affordable credit with easy access to the private sector. This special institution should not be influenced by any economic reform or condition that is imposed by the IMF so as to keep a thriving private sector.1 INTRODUCTION

determinants of donation behavior in relation to TV fundraising campaign
Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of Development Policy,2019As nonprofit organizations have made strides in the field of international development, ensuring the financial resources has become a key issue to continue what nonprofits strive for and how they perform with the budget which are generated without efforts for profit-making. In terms of financial sustainability, this research aims to figure out the determinants of constructing donation behavior which are affected by fundraising campaigns. The factors to measure in this study are mainly divided into two parts: factors affected by donors’ attitudes such as emotional sympathy and economic value and by organizations’ performances such as accountability, relevance, and sustainability. By analyzing quantitative data collected by survey, the regression results reveal that fundraising campaigns should consider both donors’ behavioral and institutional performance factors when soliciting donors’ giving behavior. By select fundraising campaigns corresponding to the purposes of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the results of this paper present that it is important to ensure the financial sustainability of nonprofit organizations and thereby to enhance the public awareness for more successful implementation of SDGs.I.
The Land and Housing Delivery System in Korea: Evolution, Assessment, and Lessons
Like its East Asian neighbors, Korea has experienced rapid and sustained economic growth since the 1960s. No country has industrialized without urbanization, and Korea is no exception: the share of its urban population has grown in tandem with the rapid growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), from 39 percent in 1960 to 91 per cent in 2015. Again, similar to other East Asian countries, Korea had very high urban as well as rural population densities that worked as an accelerator of rural-to-urban migration during the high-growth period (Renaud, Kim, and Cho 2016). In particular, between 1960 and 2015, the population of the Seoul Capital Region (SCR, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonnggi Province, which surrounds Seoul) grew from 5.1 million to 25.4 million. The SCR’s population share also increased steeply from 20.8 percent to 49.4 percent.TRU
the case of accommodation sharing
Thesis(Doctoral) --KDI School:Ph.D in Public Policy,2019The purpose of this study is to provide implications on policy preparation and amendments on laws and regulations in accommodation sharing in Korea by exploring the current status of demand and supply sides. This study consists of four parts to investigate i) perceived characteristics of accommodation sharing, ii) the impact of attributes of accommodations sharing on business performance, iii) individuals’ perceptions of policy reactions, and iv) exploratory research of current laws and regulations of different countries. First, this study finds that actual preferences of accommodation sharing conflicts with the issues on laws and regulations regarding property and sharing types. Guests who prefer to share entire houses consider instrumental attributes related to properties, while guests who prefer a portion of the house consider relatively more about social interactions, sustainability, and community benefit. Sharing a portion of the houses is legal and more suitable for policy intentions because the policies promote the local economy and community recovery by maximizing the utility of resources and interactions with the community. Further, this study finds that individuals with experience of accommodation sharing tend to have more positive attitudes toward accommodation sharing and perceive more necessity of policy reactions. Among proposed policy instruments, individuals perceive local ordinances, government publicizing and campaign, trust marks, taxation, penalties, and government controls are effective to build trust in accommodation sharing. Individuals evaluate that policies geared toward the majority of the public are more effective, and governments should establish a strategic approach as to which policies are introduced in public and which role the government plays in the departments. Currently, governments have been required the incompatible roles of eliminating regulatory barriers for newly introduced sharing economy business and minimizing the damages to existing industries. This study provides policy and managerial implications what is the most important for the citizen satisfaction associated with proper preparations and amendments of laws and regulations.I.
