カラオケの音楽的行為特性に基づく伴奏用楽器のデザイン
カラオケを盛り上げるためにタンバリンやマラカスなどの打楽器がよく用いられている.しかし,歌唱者の歌唱を盛り上げるようにこれらの楽器をうまく演奏することは容易ではなく,しばしば歌唱者の歌唱を妨害してしまう.本論文では,楽器という操作難度が非常に高いツールを容易化するための従来の取り組みを概観し,カラオケに代表される娯楽的音楽演奏のための楽器容易化手段について検討し,その結果に立脚してカラオケでの使用を想定した伴奏用打楽器Aqua Tambourine を提案する.Aqua Tambourineは,奏者がタンバリンを振る動作から得た振動周波数によって奏者が演奏しようとしているビートを推定し,歌唱中の楽曲に合わせた適切なタイミングで演奏音を出力する.Aqua Tambourine と通常のタンバリンを実際のカラオケの伴奏に使用し,比較実験を行った.その結果,Aqua Tambourine は歌唱者の邪魔にならず,それゆえにタンバリン奏者が気軽に演奏できることが明らかになった.しかしながら,現状のAqua Tambourine がやや過剰に操作自由度を制限しているため,カラオケの盛り上がりを妨げている可能性も示唆された.Percussion instruments such as tambourines and maracas are often used to vitalize karaoke performances. However, it is not easy to play them well to enhance the singers' singing, and they frequently interfere with their singing. In this paper, we first review conventional efforts to facilitate the use of musical instruments and discuss means of facilitating the musical instruments for recreational music performances such as karaoke. Based on the discussion, this paper proposes an accompaniment musical instrument for karaoke named "Aqua Tambourine." Aqua Tambourine estimates the beat the player is trying to play based on the vibration frequency obtained from the player's shaking of the tambourine and outputs the sound at the appropriate timing according to the music being sung. Comparison experiments were conducted using the Aqua Tambourine and a normal tambourine. The results showed that the Aqua Tambourine did not interfere with the singer and that the Aqua Tambourine player could easily play it. However, it was also suggested that the current Aqua Tambourine limits the freedom of operation to a somewhat excessive degree, which may hinder the excitement of the karaoke performance
