    In uno scenario globale attraversato da sfide ambientali, sociali ed economiche sempre più complesse, la sostenibilità è divenuta un principio imprescindibile nella definizione delle politiche pubbliche e nella gestione delle organizzazioni, orientando il settore pubblico a una nuova stagione di responsabilità, trasparenza e accountability, che richiede di misurare e comunicare anche l’impatto sociale e ambientale delle proprie azioni. In questo contesto, il presente scritto intende esplorare il tema del reporting di sostenibilità nel settore pubblico, con un focus specifico sulle società a partecipa- zione pubblica, in quanto attori ibridi chiamati a coniugare finalità economiche e responsabilità sociali. Muovendo da una ricostruzione teorica, che integra le prin- cipali prospettive offerte dalla letteratura accademica sul tema, lo scritto approfon- disce il ruolo delle società a partecipazione pubblica nella promozione dello svi- luppo sostenibile, con un focus particolare sulla rendicontazione del loro contributo agli SDG dell’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite. La trattazione teorica è supportata e completata da un’indagine empirica realizzata con riferimento al contesto italiano, volta a delineare lo stato dell’arte della disclo- sure degli SDG tramite i siti web delle società partecipate dallo Stato, ad individua- re i fattori organizzativi e di governance che ne influenzano la propensione alla disclosure, nonché a fornire possibili suggerimenti per lo sviluppo di future linee di ricerca e per il policy maker

    The impact of gender dysphoria diagnosis on parents of transgender youth: The role of heteronormativity and mentalization

    The diagnosis of gender dysphoria (GD) can be a traumatic experience for parents of transgender youth, as it challenges the belief system of the entire family. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to examine the role of heteronormative beliefs and attitudes on the traumatic impact of GD diagnosis in mothers and fathers of transgender youth, as well as the mediating role of mentalization, i.e., the ability to psychologically understand one’s own and others’ behaviors and emotions. A total of 67 couples of mothers and fathers (N = 134) of adolescents who received a GD diagnosis answered questions about heteronormativity, mentalization, and the traumatic impact of diagnosis. Paired-samples t-tests were conducted to assess differences between variables in mothers and fathers, and mediation model analyses were performed to test the direct and mediating effects of heteronormative beliefs and attitudes and mentalization on the traumatic impact of the GD diagnosis. Results showed that heteronormative attitudes were significantly higher in fathers than in mothers. Moreover, heteronormative beliefs were positively associated with greater traumatic impact of GD diagnosis only in fathers, whereas heteronormative attitudes were associated with greater traumatic impact of GD diagnosis in both mothers and fathers. Finally, an impaired mentalizing functioning mediated the relationship between heteronormative attitudes (but not beliefs) and the traumatic impact of a child’s GD diagnosis only in fathers, but not in mothers. Clinical recommendations are provided to support the family system in coping with the challenges that a GD diagnosis can bring forth

    Progettazione di ambienti di apprendimento inclusivi: una ricerca con i docenti dei percorsi formativi abilitanti

    La ricerca, condotta nell’ambito del corso di Pedagogia Speciale nei percorsi formativi abilitanti all’insegnamento, ha coinvolto 194 docenti (85 di area umanistica e 109 di area scientifica) invitati a riflettere sulle dimensioni pe-dagogico-didattiche che favoriscono contesti inclusivi. Adottando l’approccio ermeneutico-fenomenologico di Van Manen (2007), lo studio ha posto al centro l’esperienza vissuta dei docenti, indagandone il significato e la struttura intenzionale. I testi raccolti sono stati analizzati con il software NVivo, che ha permesso di identificare le core categories coerenti con le narrazioni. Dai risultati emerge che l’inclusività richiede un ripensamento pro-fondo delle pratiche formative, non limitato alla risposta ai bisogni speciali, ma orientato a valorizzare le potenzialità di ciascun allievo e a garantire equità formativa. In particolare, i risultati sottolineano l’importanza di progettare ambienti di apprendimento inclusivi, capaci di favorire percorsi significativi, autonomi e collaborativi, in cui l’at-tenzione all’individualità si integri armonicamente con quella alla comunità educativa

    Mixing and Power Consumption of Structured Fluids in Stirred Reactors

    This work deals with the fluid dynamics characterization of structured fluids, which are adopted in the preparation and processing of many products in different industrial applications. Experiments on binary mixtures of water and Pluronic L64 are carried out in a laboratory stirred reactor, by varying the mixture concentrations and the temperature, thus obtaining different microstructures of Pluronic molecules in water corresponding to different fluid rheology. The fluid dynamics characteristics are measured by Stereo Particle Image Velocimetry. The resulting data are presented and discussed with the final purpose of providing insight into the prevailing flow regimes, the velocity field and the shear rate in the reactor volume. In addition, power consumption measured by a strain gauge system allows to estimate the energy requirement expected in the industrial operations. The results show significant spatial variations of the velocity field and related variables. The data can be adopted for the improvement of the design and operation of the reactors and for the validation of a multiscale modelling methodology of the same systems

    Compost Tea Combined with Fungicides Modulates Grapevine Bacteriome and Metabolome to Suppress Downy Mildew

    Downy mildew, caused by Plasmopara viticola, is a major threat to grapevine (Vitis vinifera) cultivation in humid climates. Restrictions on synthetic pesticides and inconsistent efficacy of current biocontrol agents, especially under rainy conditions, complicate disease management. This study evaluated the potential of compost tea to suppress downy mildew in a two-year field experiment (2023 and 2024), combined with reduced synthetic fungicide applications. The study design compared two phytosanitary management strategies on a commercial vineyard: a conventional fungicide against a compost tea strategy supplemented with two cymoxanil applications. The experiment set up had three replicated blocks, each consisting of 100 plants for a total of 600 plants. Mechanistic insights were provided through controlled laboratory experiments involving pre- and post-infection leaf assays, vineyard bacteriome profiling, via 16S rRNA gene sequencing for bacterial communities, across vineyard compartments, i.e., bulk soil, rhizosphere, and phyllosphere, and grapevine metabolomic analysis by GC-MS analysis. Field trials demonstrated that compost tea combined with two fungicide applications effectively reduced disease severity, notably outperforming the fungicide alone in the particularly rainy year of 2023. Bacteriome analysis revealed that compost tea treatment enriched beneficial bacterial genera, including Pseudomonas, Sphingomonas, Enterobacter, Massilia, and Bacillus, known for their growth-promoting and biocontrol activity in the rhizosphere and phyllosphere. Laboratory assays on detached leaves further showed that compost tea alone could suppress both infection and sporulation of P. viticola. Metabolomic analysis highlighted the accumulation of compounds such as tartaric and shikimic acids in compost tea treated leaves, suggesting a potential role in induced resistance. The findings indicate that applying compost tea with reduced fungicide treatments represents a promising and sustainable strategy for managing grapevine downy mildew, even in challenging climates

    Allo-lithocholic acid, a microbiome derived secondary bile acid, attenuates liver fibrosis

    Secondary bile acids, lithocholic acid and deoxycholic acid (LCA and DCA), are dehydroxylated derivatives of primary bile acids. However, in addition to LCA and DCA the intestinal microbiota produced a variety of poorly characterized metabolites. Allo-LCA, a LCA metabolite, acts as a dual GPBAR1 agonist and RORγt inverse agonist and modulates intestinal immunity, although is not yet known whether allo-LCA exerts regulatory functions outside the intestine. In the present study we have therefore investigated whether administration of allo-LCA, 10 mg/kg/day, to mice administered a high fat/high fructose diet (HFD-F) and carbon tetrachloride (Ccl4), a model for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), protects from development of liver damage. In vitro allo-LCA functions as GPBAR1 agonist and RORγt inverse agonist and prevents macrophages M1 polarization and Th17 polarization of CD4 cells. In vivo studies, while exposure to a HFD-F/Ccl4 promoted insulin resistance and development of a pro-atherogenic lipid profile and liver steatosis and fibrosis, allo-LCA reversed this pattern by improving insulin sensitivity and liver lipid accumulation. The liver transcriptomic profile demonstrated that allo-LCA reversed the dysregulation of multiple pathways associated with immunological, inflammatory and metabolic signaling. Allo-LCA also restored bile acid homeostasis, reversing HFD/Ccl4-induced shifts in bile acid pool composition and restored adipose tissue histopathology and function by reducing the expression of leptin and resistin, two pro-inflammatory adipokines, and restored a healthier composition of the intestinal microbiota. In conclusion, present results expand on the characterization of entero-hepatic signaling and suggest that allo-LCA, a microbial metabolite, might have therapeutic potential in liver diseases

    Neuroglobin regulates autophagy through mTORC1/RAPTOR/ULK-1 pathway in human neuroblastoma cells

    Neuroglobin (NGB) is a hexacoordinated hemeprotein mainly expressed in neurons. Following its upregulation and mitochondrial localization, NGB plays a pro-survival role against neuronal stress. Previously, we built a stable NGB-FLAG-overexpressing neuroblastoma cell line and showed that NGB promotes autophagy and localizes in autophagolysosomes. Here we studied the interactome of NGB-FLAG cells to identify novel autophagy-related NGB-binding partners and investigate how its upregulation could induce autophagy. LC3-II and p62 levels as well as mTORC1 activity were analyzed to evaluate autophagy in NGB-FLAG cells. NGB interactors were identified by affinity purification-mass spectrometry and protein-protein interaction network analysis and validated by immunoprecipitation. The increase of LC3-II and decrease of p62 in NGB-FLAG compared to control confirmed that NGB overexpression promotes autophagy. Interactome analysis identified the Regulatory associated protein of mTOR (RPTOR) as one of 134 putative NGB interactors, further validated by immunoprecipitation. NGB overexpression also determined a consistent increment of RPTOR phosphorylation at Ser792 which is required for mTORC1 inhibition, then confirmed by lower levels of phospho-mTOR and phospho-ULK1 in NGB-FLAG compared to control. Collectively, our data suggests that NGB is a positive regulator of autophagy. Through association with RPTOR, NGB may promote its activation and inhibit mTORC1 repressive activity on autophagy initiation
