Understanding the Role of Corporate Social Responsibility on Internal Customer Satisfaction for Sustainable Business Strategy; A Qualitative Research in the Aviation Industry
In industrial life, where competition is increasingly intense in the globalization process, the efforts of companies to gain an advantage differ. In the 21st century, where competition over economic output and growth and profitability alone does not make a difference, corporate social responsibility projects and strategies to compete by gaining social legitimacy comes to the fore. The inimitable aspect of Human Resources, which is the most valuable resource for a business, has led to the need for deep and different studies on the importance of internal customers. These early-recognizing businesses take measures to retain talented employees, making a difference in competition with internal resources. Social responsibilities, which are the responsibilities of organizations to their employees, their environment, and consumers, form the basis of competition and sustainable strategies today. Based on this basis, the research focusing on the role of corporate social responsibility projects on internal customer satisfaction in the aviation industry wants to reveal organization-based outputs. This qualitative research aims to open a social window to competitive advantage with corporate social responsibility strategies; It is concerned to create an important value to understand the role of the institutions that produce and manage sustainability projects that are sensitive to the environment and society. In this context, qualitative research was conducted with 24 middle and senior managers working at the management level of airline companies operating in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, 7 open-ended questions were asked. All collected data were analyzed using the Maxqda 20 program. Content analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research and the connection relationship of the parts obtained as a result of the analysis was conveyed according to the direction of configuration
ISOTROPIC MEAN BERWALD FINSLER WARPED PRODUCT METRICS
It is our goal in this study to present the structure of isotropic mean Berwald Finsler warped product metrics. We bring out the rich class of warped product Finsler metrics behaviour under this condition. We show that every Finsler warped product metric of dimension n >= 2 is of isotropic mean Berwald curvature if and only if it is a weakly Berwald metric. Also, we prove that every locally dually flat Finsler warped product metric is weakly Berwaldian. Finally, we prove that every Finsler warped product metric is of isotropic Berwald curvature if and only if it is a Berwald metric
Investigating traumatic memory integration in people with and without post-traumatic stress disorder using the event-cueing paradigm
Poor integration and landmark views make opposing claims regarding the relationship between post-traumatic stress symptoms and trauma memory integration. This study tested these approaches using an event cluster paradigm. In total, 126 participants (N-ptsd = 61; Nnon-ptsd = 65) remembered memories from the same story as trauma, positive and neutral memories and reported whether each memory was directly retrieved or generated. Moreover, the retrieval time (RT) was recorded. Finally, the participants completed the Centrality of Event Scale (CES) and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Scale-Self Report (PSS-SR). The results demonstrated that participants with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) recalled their clusters of memories more slowly and less directly than those without PTSD. However, the CES predicted PTSD severity more strongly than RT and retrieval strategy. These results suggest that traumatic memories are more disorganised but perceived as more central in PTSD.Tuuml;rkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu [115K315]This work was supported by Turkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu: [Grant Number 115K315]
Determination and adjustment of lease price in residence and roofed place of business rents in accordance with the Turkish code of obligations numbered 6098
Çalışma, ilgili mevzuat hükümlerinin yanı sıra doktrin görüşleri ve Yargıtay içtihatları incelenerek hazırlanmıştır.ABSTRACT: Social and economic changes and population increases in the history of Turkey have led to increase in the people’s need of residence for sheltering and place of business for carry out their commercial activities, so lease agreement has become a common practice. Within this scope, the legislator has regulated such lease agreements especially in terms of rental price. Within this context, the main purpose of the study is examining the Article 344 and Article 345 of the Turkish Code of Obligations numbered 6098 and revealing the differences between lease price determination lawsuit and lease adjustment lawsuit. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, general information on lease agreement, the lease price and its specifications and also the principle of freedom of contract applied in the determination of the lease price with its limitations are mentioned. In the second part, application area of Article 344 and the rules foreseen in the Article have explained in the light of current situations. In the third part, the principles of Article 345 have clarified. Also, general explanations regarding the conditions and implementation of Article 138 are regulating the adjustment lawsuit, are given in order to reveal the differences between lease price determination lawsuit and lease adjustment lawsuit. The study has been prepared by examining the doctrinal views and the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court as well as the relevant legislation provisions
Association of physical activity and nutrition with telomere length, a marker of cellular aging: A comprehensive review
The aging of the population has great social and economic effects because it is characterized by a gradual loss in physiological integrity, resulting in functional decline, thereby loss of ability to move independently. Telomeres, the hallmarks of biological aging, play a protective role in both cell death and aging. Critically short telomeres give rise to a metabolically active cell that is unable to repair damage or divide, thereby leading to aging. Lifestyle factors such as physical activity (PA) and nutrition could be associated with telomere length (TL). Indeed, regular PA and healthy nutrition as integral parts of our lifestyle can slow down telomere shortening, thereby delaying aging. In this context, the present comprehensive review summarizes the data from recent literature on the association of PA and nutrition with TL
Forecasting long-term world annual natural gas production by machine learning
The goal of this study is to model the global annual natural gas production using a variety of machine learning models in order to predict future production and determine a peak production date. World gross domestic product (GDP) based on purchasing power parities (at PPPs), inflation percentage, Henry Hub Price, Eum Price, cumulative natural gas resources, and annually discovered new resources were taken as descriptor variables, and Shapley analysis was conducted to observe the importance of features on the dataset. It was revealed according to this analysis that, Henry Hub price, inflation percentage, and newly discovered resources had minor effects on natural gas production, so they were left out. Then, a variety of machine learning algorithms were employed and the one with the highest prediction ability was found to be the stochastic gradient descent (SGD) algorithm. Next, this model was tested under four different scenarios, each with different GDP and natural gas price projections. Finally, natural gas production was found to reach its peak sometime between 2034 and 2046. It was then concluded that rather than relying on a traditional approach based on the Hubbert Curve, a machine learning model that takes into account all relevant factors can be used to accurately forecast natural gas production and its peak time, allowing governments and policymakers to make the necessary preparations.Istanbul Bilgi University [AK 85 073]The financial support provided by Istanbul Bilgi University Research Fund Project AK 85 073 is gratefully acknowledged
The Determination of Patient Learning Needs After Day Surgery: A Cross- Sectional Study
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the care perception and learning needs of patients undergo-ing day surgery. Design: A descriptive and cross-sectional model was used. Methods: The study was conducted with 234 patients who underwent day surgery in a general surgery clinic of a university hospital. Data were collected using a sociodemographic characteristics form, the Patient Perception of Hospital Experience with Nursing Scale (PPHEN) and the Patient Learning Needs Scale (PLNS). Findings: The PPHEN mean score was 67.99 +/- 11.98 and the PLNS total score was 211.15 +/- 38.49. The sub-scales showed that the highest scores were 38.47 +/- 6.93 for activities of life, while the lowest score was 20.60 +/- 4.23 for feelings related to condition. There was a statistically significant negative correlation in the PPHEN and PLNS subscales in terms of medications, activities of living, treatment, and complications. There was no statistically significant relationship between the demographic data of the patients (age, gender, and educational status). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that patients had high information needs and greater concerns, partic-ularly about activities of life. Nurses should be aware of the importance of identifying high learning needs to increase the level of satisfaction with nursing care in day surgery patients. Rethinking Hunger, Food Insecurity, and Malnutrition in the Age of Inequalities
Due to extreme climate events, the Covid-19 global pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and a rapid increase in the food prices 3.1 billion people were unable have access to nutritious food in 2022. Global inequalities, poverty, and social insecurities that disseminated in almost every aspect of human life have already started to challenge the social contract. As a minimum requirement to guarantee a decent life for everyone, a new social contract based on mutual obligations of concentric circles may be imagined for food security. Such a contract may offer a solid framework to encounter the current agrifood system’s fragilities and vulnerabilities. This study argues that a new social contract should redefine relations between the state and private sector, considering the well-being of all segments of society and, in a broader sense, humanity. Secondly, it emphasizes the necessity of reforming rules, norms, principles, and decision-making procedures to eliminate the double standards of the global trade system. Lastly, it claims that rather than falling back into the industrial agriculture production trap, “what we owe each other” is to adopt collectively resilient, sustainable, and equitable policies to eliminate hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition
Brain health and mental health: Common vascular risk factors and practical implications
The pandemic dramatized the close links among cognitive, mental, and social health; a change in one reflects others. This realization offers the opportunity to bridge the artificial separation of brain and mental health, as brain disorders have behavioral consequences and behavioral disorders affect the brain. The leading causes of mortality and disability, namely stroke, heart disease, and dementia, share the same risk and protective factors. It is emerging that bipolar disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, and some depressions share these risk factors, allowing their joint prevention through a holistic life span approach. We need to learn to focus on the whole patient, not simply on a dysfunctional organ or behavior to mitigate or prevent the major neurological and mental disorders by fostering an integrated approach to brain and mental health and addressing the common, treatable risk factors
