Bounded unit root processes with non-stationary volatility
This article concerns the unit root testing under nonstandard conditions for a time series process, such as having an innovation process with non-stationary variance and being limited inside an interval. These conditions are investigated separately in the unit root literature and shown to cause problems, such as size distortions. In this article, we consider the presence of both conditions in the unit root tests simultaneously. The simulation results indicate that the previous methods fail to provide satisfactory inference performance under the simultaneous presence of these conditions. To alleviate this issue, we propose a robust unit root testing mechanism and derive this procedure's asymptotic properties

Unified benchmark for zero-shot Turkish text classification
Effective learning schemes such as fine-tuning, zero-shot, and few-shot learning, have been widely used to obtain considerable performance with only a handful of annotated training data. In this paper, we presented a unified benchmark to facilitate the problem of zeroshot text classification in Turkish. For this purpose, we evaluated three methods, namely, Natural Language Inference, Next Sentence Prediction and our proposed model that is based on Masked Language Modeling and pre-trained word embeddings on nine Turkish datasets for three main categories: topic, sentiment, and emotion. We used pre-trained Turkish monolingual and multilingual transformer models which can be listed as BERT, ConvBERT, DistilBERT and mBERT. The results showed that ConvBERT with the NLI method yields the best results with 79% and outperforms previously used multilingual XLM-RoBERTa model by 19.6%. The study contributes to the literature using different and unattempted transformer models for Turkish and showing improvement of zero-shot text classification performance for monolingual models over multilingual models
Search for direct pair production of supersymmetric partners of ? leptons in the final state with two hadronically decaying ? leptons and missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at Formula Presented
A search for the direct production of a pair of ? sleptons, the supersymmetric partners of ? leptons, is presented. Each ? slepton is assumed to decay to a ? lepton and the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), which is assumed to be stable and to not interact in the detector, leading to an imbalance in the total reconstructed transverse momentum. The search is carried out in events identified as containing two ? leptons, each decaying to one or more hadrons and a neutrino, and significant transverse momentum imbalance. In addition to scenarios in which the ? sleptons decay promptly, the search also addresses scenarios in which the ? sleptons have sufficiently long lifetimes to give rise to nonprompt ? leptons. The data were collected in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the CERN LHC with the CMS detector in 2016-2018, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb - 1 . No significant excess is seen with respect to standard model expectations. Upper limits on cross sections for the pair production of ? sleptons are obtained in the framework of simplified models. In a scenario in which the ? sleptons are superpartners of left-handed ? leptons, and each undergoes a prompt decay to a ? lepton and a nearly massless LSP, ? slepton masses between 115 and 340 GeV are excluded. In a scenario in which the lifetime of the ? sleptons corresponds to c ? 0 = 0.1 mm , where ? 0 represents the mean proper lifetime of the ? slepton, masses between 150 and 220 GeV are excluded. © 2023 CERN, for the CMS Collaboration
Effect of a Compassion Fatigue Resiliency Program on Nurse Managers' Professional Quality of Life, Stress, and Resilience
Background:Compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout have an adverse impact on nurse managers.Purpose:To evaluate the impact of a compassion fatigue resiliency program on nurse managers and to obtain their views of the program. Methods:This mixed-methods study was conducted with 16 nurse managers. The compassion fatigue resiliency program was implemented; compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, burnout, perceived stress, and resilience were assessed before and after implementation of the program. Results:The mean compassion fatigue and perceived stress scores of nurses decreased significantly after the intervention. Four themes were identified from qualitative analysis, including awareness, coping with stress, effective communication skills in team management, and recommendations. Conclusions:The current study shows the training program reduced nurse managers' compassion fatigue and stress and enabled nurse managers to improve their coping skills and awareness
Retail business management from a sustainability perspective
Retail businesses are the type of businesses that sell their goods individually or in small quantities rather than in bulk, mainly to individual customers. The retail business is one of the most important economic sectors in the world, with its capacity to create jobs and generate revenues, as well as its potential to act as a gateway to sustainability. Retail businesses are under increasing pressure from customers, stakeholders, and governments alike to take on more responsibility for their environmental impact. In that sense, it has become increasingly important for businesses to be aware of their environmental footprint and develop strategies to ensure they progress toward sustainability goals. This chapter will discuss how retailer businesses can adopt sustainable practices within their operations and management practices and the benefits of adopting them. © 2023, IGI Global. Identifying Hashtag Cultures to Study the Construction of Childhood Image and Parents' Aspirations
This study considers posting behavior as a cultural practice as enacted with Instagram postings marked by hashtags #fashionkids and #letthekids and examines whether and how the two hashtags reflect two distinct online cultures about childhood. The study is important for two reasons. First, it offers socio-cultural theory to the study of social media and provides researchers with a theory-based method of using Instagram as a data source to detect and study digital cultures. Second, it contributes to the research activities on the phenomena of sharenting and the changing narrative of childhood in domestic contexts. The inquiry included analyses of the scale of a sample of Instagram postings with hashtags of #fashionkids and #letthekids posted in a 12-day period in 2016, geographical locations where the postings were made, searches of words with linguistic functions in captions, and networking strategies. Analysis of the scale, the networking patterns, the verbal accounts, and the geographical locations where the postings happened help inform us about the magnitude and diverse purposes of the hashtags. Overall, the findings underscore greater diversity among #letthekids posts compared to the more focused content of #fashionkids' postings.New Media Lab, The Graduate Center, City University of New YorkThe author(s) disclosed receipt of the following financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article: This work was supported by the New Media Lab, The Graduate Center, City University of New Yor
Factors Affecting the Support of Turkish Firms for the Emissions Trading System in the Context of Harmonization with the European Green Deal
The European Union will implement a carbon border adjustment mechanism to curb carbon leakage and encourage more countries to participate in the fight against climate change. Countries trading with the Union and lacking carbon pricing policies will be subject to this regulation. Turkey, one of these countries, initiated efforts to establish an emissions trading system (ETS). This study has two objectives: The first is to investigate the environmentally sustainable practices of firms in energy-intensive industries that are likely to be regulated by the ETS. The second is to explore the determinants of support for the ETS. Our findings indicate that firms' adoption of green practices and perception of the ETS as an effective tool have a positive impact on their support for the ETS
Measurement of the B-0 lifetime and flavor-oscillation frequency using hadronic decays reconstructed in 2019-2021 Belle II data
We measure the B-0 lifetime and flavor-oscillation frequency using B-0 -> D(*)-x+ decays collected by the Belle II experiment in asymmetric-energy e+e- collisions produced by the SuperKEKB collider operating at the T(4S) resonance. We fit the decay-time distribution of signal decays, where the initial flavor is determined by identifying the flavor of the other B meson in the event. The results, based on 33000 signal decays reconstructed in a data sample corresponding to 190 fb(-1), are zB(0) = (1.499 +/- 0.013 +/- 0.008) ps, Amd = (0.516 +/- 0.008 +/- 0.005) ps(-1), where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are consistent with the world-average values
