While this problem has been extensively studied in the literature, the proposed method distinguishes itself through the utilization of parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions and novel bounding techniques for bilinear terms. By employing a more flexible and accurate characterization of system dynamics and uncertainties, our approach achieves improved controller performance with less conservatism compared to existing methods. The formulation of the controller design problem involves converting the nonconvex optimization into a convex minimization one using a congruent transformation and the cone complementarity technique. This leads to a set of linear matrix inequality conditions that guarantee the existence of an effective robust output feedback H-infinity controller capable of mitigating the effects of uncertainties and disturbances on the system. Numerical simulations show that our proposed method outperforms existing results in terms of disturbance attenuation rates. © 2023 IEEE

    The effect of exercise dependence, intuitive eating and eating awareness on nutritional status in exercise individuals

    ÖZET: Bu çalışmada, egzersiz yapan bireylerin egzersiz bağımlılığı sezgisel yeme ve yeme farkındalıklarının beslenme durumuna etkisini değerlendirmek amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışma Mersin ilinde yaşayan, düzenli egzersiz yapan 18-65 yaş arası (ortalaması 29,92±8,91 yıl) 101 yetişkin (%49,5 kadın, %50,5 erkek) katılımcıyla yapılmıştır. Katılımcılara sosyodemografik özelliklerini, tıbbi öykü, beslenme alışkanlıklarını, besin tüketim durumlarını, Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Formu (IPAQ), Egzersiz Bağımlılık Ölçeği (EBÖ), Sezgisel Yeme Ölçeği (SYÖ-2), Yeme Farkındalığı Ölçeği (YFÖ-30) sorularını içeren anket yüz yüze yapılmıştır. Katılımcıların beden kütle indeksi ortalaması 24,06±3,27 kg/m2’dir. Egzersiz yapan bireylerin %10,9’unun minimal aktif ve %89,1’inin çok aktif düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Egzersiz bağımlılık düzeylerine göre %46,5’inin riskli, %42,6’sının bağımlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Sezgisel yeme alt faktör puanlarında “Vücut-Besin Seçimi Örtüşmesi” ve “Duygusal Yeme” puanları egzersiz bağımlılık düzeyi yüksek bağımlı olan bireylerin, az riskli olanlara göre yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Yeme farkındalığı alt faktör puanlarında “Duygusal Yeme” ve “Yeme Farkındalığı” puanları egzersiz bağımlılık düzeyi yüksek bağımlı olan bireylerin, az riskli olan bireylere göre yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Katılımcıların IPAQ puanları arttıkça EBÖ toplam puanları %54,6 artmıştır (p<0,001). SYÖ-2 toplam puanları arttıkça YFÖ-30 toplam puanları %54,8 artmıştır (p<0,001). Kadınların günlük diyetle aldıkları enerji ortalama 1266,84±437,50 kkal, erkeklerin ise 2053,03±566,05 kkal’dir. Egzersiz bağımlılık düzeyine göre az riskli bireylerin, risklilere göre enerji alım düzeyi yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Günlük protein ve kolesterol tüketimi egzersiz bağımlılık düzeyi bağımlı bireylerin, riskli bireylere göre yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Sonuç olarak, bu çalışmada egzersiz bağımlılığının bazı yeme davranışları üzerinde etkileri olabileceği ve konuyla ilgili daha geniş kapsamlı çalışmaların yapılması gerekliliği düşünülmektedir.ABSTRACT: In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effect of exercise addiction intuitive eating and eating awareness on nutritional status of individuals who exercise. The study was conducted with 101 adult (49.5% female, 50.5% male) participants aged 18-65 (mean 29.92±8.91 years) living in Mersin and exercising regularly. A questionnaire including sociodemographic characteristics, medical history, nutritional habits, food consumption status, International Physical Activity Form (IPAQ), Exercise Addiction Scale (EBÖ), Intuitive Eating Scale (SYÖ-2), Eating Awareness Scale (YFÖ-30) were asked to the participants made on the face. The mean body mass index of the participants was 24.06±3.27 kg/m2. It was found that 10.9% of the individuals exercising were minimally active and 89.1% were very active. According to exercise dependence levels, 46.5% were found to be risky and 42.6% to be dependent. In the intuitive eating sub-factor scores, "Body-Food Choice Overlap" and "Emotional Eating" scores were found to be higher in individuals with high exercise addiction than those with low risk (p<0.05). “Emotional Eating” and “Eating Awareness” scores in the eating awareness sub-factor scores were found to be higher in individuals with high exercise addiction level than individuals with low risk (p<0.05). As the participants' IPAQ scores increased, their total EBQ scores increased by 54.6% (p<0.001). As the total scores of SDS-2 increased, the total scores of YFS-30 increased by 54.8% (p<0.001). The average daily energy intake of women is 1266.84±437.50 kcal, while it is 2053.03±566.05 kcal for men. Individuals with low risk according to exercise addiction level were found to have higher energy intake levels than those at risk (p<0.05). Daily protein and cholesterol consumption was found to be higher in individuals with exercise addiction level compared to individuals at risk (p<0.05). In conclusion, in this study, it is thought that exercise addiction may have effects on some eating behaviors and it is necessary to conduct more comprehensive studies on the subject

    Interval-Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy AHP: Evaluation of Freight Transportation Strategies

    Freight transportation with the highest reliance on fossil fuels, has one of the vital roles on generating CO2 emission compared to other sectors. For that reason, choosing the best appropriate freight transportation strategy becomes an important problem that decision makers deal with. In this chapter, we focus on freight transportation strategy selection problem by tackling imprecision and vagueness in real life problems. The problem is modeled and solved using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) based on one of the extensions of ordinary fuzzy sets named as Pythagorean fuzzy sets. In the application part, interval-valued membership and non-membership degrees are used to represent uncertainty in a better way. In the chapter, sensitivity analysis is performed and the results are compared with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy AHP method. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023

    The Impact of Additives and Curing Conditions on the Mechanical Strength and Microstructural Development of MgO Based Systems

    International Symposium of the International Federation for Structural Concrete, fib Symposium 2023 -- 5 June 2023 through 7 June 2023 -- Istanbul -- 296169In this paper, the feasibility of utilization of reactive MgO (rMgO) cement as a single binder and its implementation in ternary mixes of nano-silica (NS), and pozzolans, i.e., ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), fly ash (FA), and micro-silica (MS) were investigated. In order to assess the workability and mechanical strength, flow diameter and compressive strength were measured. To evaluate the microstructural evolution, 28th day SEM analysis was conducted. In addition to air-curing, accelerated carbonation curing, which is imperative in crystallizing the binding phases in the MgO-based systems, was applied. The efficiency of carbonation curing was verified with pH evolution assessment. The impact of carbonation curing was evident from the increase in the 28th-day compressive strength of the control mix by 580%. The inclusion of FA and GGBFS was beneficial in terms of flowability. Through the SEM analysis, magnesium calcite is postulated to be the main binding phase, which most likely forms due to the presence of calcium sources in the raw materials. NS demonstrated a respectable increase, as much as 60%, in the compressive strength of all the mixes. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG

    In search of an appropriate channel for voicing political concerns: political participation among radicalised youth in Europe

    This research aims to identify values related to political and civic participation methods among the two groups of radicalised youngsters: native youth who support movements labelled as far-right (N= 122) and migrant-origin self-identified Muslim youth with strong organisational ties with religious communities (N=109) in Germany, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. The study posits that these these radically aligned youngsters position themselves against politically moderate European citizens, who are less intuitive when making judgements on political affairs comparing to them. Diverging from the unifying European values and hypersensitivities, these youngsters' political reactions are often radical and loud in their safe-to-speak, segregated movements. By using the narrations of the range of mainstream modes of political participation, the current qualitative research asks what appears valuable for the two groups of young people to express their political discontent. Findings revealed that both groups highlighted similar values regarding voting. Self-identified Muslim youth stressed the importance of volunteering and street protests (despite not having participated in one). Many native youths, on the other hand, stressed the function of unlawful behaviour in street protests to pursue political objectives.     Machine learning for algal biofuels: a critical review and perspective for the future

    In this work, machine learning (ML) applications in microalgal biofuel production are reviewed. First, the basic steps of algal biofuel production are summarized followed by a bibliometric analysis to demonstrate the major research trends in the field. Also, the major challenges related to the commercialization of technology are identified. Then, ML applications for various steps in the value chain are reviewed and analyzed systematically. Finally, a future perspective on the contribution of ML in the field is provided. Our analysis indicates that ML applications should focus on screening and selecting suitable strains, preferably together with some other value-added products, requiring close collaborations among the researchers in the field to construct an extensive microalgal strain database. Optimization of cultivation conditions appears to be another area where ML can be helpful. Although most published ML works on cultivation are not usually suitable to extract generalizable knowledge (due to the nonstandard nature of strains, wastewater, and irradiation), standard testing and methodologies related to reporting protocols should also be built through collaboration to build comparable and generalizable ML models

    ÖZET: Müzik, sinemanın daha ilk yıllarından bu yana, gerek sessiz film döneminde sinema salonlarında canlı olarak gerekse de tekniğin gelişmesi sonrası görsel kayıt ile birlikte sinemada kendine yer bulmuştur. Sanatsal ve ticari olarak sinemada müzik kullanımı ne derece önem arz etmekteyse de bu eserlerin yaratıcıları ile hak sahiplerinin fikri haklarının korunması bir o kadar önemlidir. İşte bu çalışmamızın konusu da müzik kullanımına yer verilen sinema eserlerinde, bu kullanımların hukuki temelinin tespit edilmesi ve hem sinema eseri sahipleri hem de müzik eseri sahipleri ile diğer hak sahipleri bakımından bu tür kullanımlar nedeniyle doğabilecek hukuki sorunların aydınlatılmasıdır. Bu doğrultuda öncelikle ortaya konan yaratımların Türk Hukuku kapsamında sinema eseri olarak kabul edilmesinin şartları ile hangi tür yaratımların sinema eseri olarak değerlendirilebileceğine değinilecektir. Aynı yönde müzik eserleri ve müzik eserlerine dair tartışmalı hususlar öğretideki farklı görüşler de dikkate alınarak irdelenecektir. Bu kapsamda literatürde yer alan temel ve yardımcı kaynaklardan faydalanılmıştır. Sinema eserlerinde müzik kullanımından doğan hukuki sorunlar ise; öğretide tartışmalı olan hususlar yanında, ağırlıklı olarak yargı kararlarına yansımış uyuşmazlıklar üzerinden bir inceleme yapılarak tespit edilmeye çalışmış, bu doğrultuda işbu çalışmamızda değindiklerimiz ile sınırlı olmayacağı aşikar olsa da genel olarak bu sorunların; özgün müziğin sinema eserinde kullanımı ve özgün müzik bestecisinin eser sahipliği, senkronize edilmek suretiyle müzik eserlerinin sinema eserlerinde kullanımı, hukuki niteliği tartışmalı video klipler, reklam filmleri, sinema eserinin canlı müzik eşliğinde gösterimi, taraflar arasında akdedilen sözleşmeler ile izinsiz kullanımlar neticesinde doğduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.ABSTRACT: Music has been a part of motion picture since the very first years of cinema. It has found its place both in live format in movie theaters during the silent film period and following technological developments as recorded media accompanying visual content. Although the use of music in cinema, artistically and commercially, is important, it is equally important to protect the intellectual rights of the creators and right holders of these works. The subject of this study is to determine the legal basis of music exploitation in cinematographic works and to illuminate the legal problems that may arise due to such exploitation in terms of both cinematographic work owners, musical work owners and other rights holders. In this direction, first, we try to determine the definition of a cinematographic work within the scope of Turkish Law and what kind of creations can be considered as a cinematographic work. In the same direction, musical works and controversial issues about musical works will be examined by considering the different views in the doctrine. In this context, fundamental and supplementary sources in the literature were used. Legal problems arising from the use of music in cinematographic works, besides the controversial issues in the doctrine, have tried to be identified by making an examination on the dispute, which is mainly reflected in the judicial decisions. In this context, it has been concluded that, although it’s evident that the subject is not limited by the issues we touch upon in our work, in general the problems arise from the use of original music in a cinematographic work and the authorship of the original music composer, the use of music in cinematographic works by synchronization, video clips of controversial legal character, advertisements, the screening of the cinematograpic work accompanied by live music, the agreements concluded between the parties and the unauthorized use

    Effect of stress wave propagation phenomenon on the determination of strain energy density theory parameters and dynamic J-integral

    Dynamic loading for stationary cracks leads to results that are many times greater in magnitude than their static counterparts. If the dynamic loading is in the form of impact type, stress wave propagation effects become dominant. FRAC3D program comprises enriched element formulation which doesn't require excessive mesh refinement around crack tip for accuracy. Strain energy density (SED) theory parameters and dynamic J-integral are sought in this study to simulate and understand wave propagation phenomenon in detail. Structures under the effect of wave propagations yield more reliable J-integral values by taking the average of the results from multiple domain sizes. Governed by stress waves, space-time variations of minimum energy density locations strongly influence fracture characterization for straight and curved crack fronts. Details given in numerical examples section of this paper make a great contribution to understanding of the response for cracked structures subjected to sudden loading

    Variation in the dielectric and magnetic characteristics of multiferroic LuFeO3 as a result of cobalt substitution at Fe sites

    Due to its electrical, magnetic, and optical characteristics, LuFeO3 (LFO) has caught the scientific community's interest. In this study, the powders of LFO, LuFe0.95Co0.05O3, and LuFe0.90Co0.10O3 samples were prepared by using the well-known solid-state approach. The crystalline structure of the fabricated samples was examined by an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). It was found that the samples display secondary phases such as Lu2O3, Lutetium Tetraoxodiferrate, and Wustite. It was shown by scanning electron microscope (SEM) that particle size decreases with Co doping. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) determined oxidation states for Fe and Co. It was presented that Fe has a mixture of 2 + and + 3 valance states in the LFO sample. Although LuFe0.95Co0.05O3 has only the 3 + state, LuFe0.90Co0.10O3 sample has coexisting metallic and 3 + states. The conductivity and dielectric constant of the undoped LFO sample were higher than those of Co doped LFO samples. A decrease in both the dielectric constant and conductivity was associated with a lack of Fe2+ ions and lattice distortions. Furthermore, it was argued that several conduction models must be developed to explain the conduction process in the analyzed samples. Magnetic experiments using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) revealed that Co doping raises Mr values.
