Gender, tenure security, and landscape governance: Synthesis of studies of PIM’s Governance of Natural Resources Flagship Program, 2013–2020
No full textGender relations shape women’s and men’s identities, norms, rules, and responsibilities. They influence people’s access to, use, and management of land and other natural resources, including ownership, tenure, and user rights to land and forests. A substantial body of research on these issues comes from the CGIAR Research Program on Policies, Institutions, and Markets (PIM), through its Flagship 5 research theme. Flagship 5 focused on gender and social inclusion in relation to land and natural resource tenure and to landscape governance, and analyzed how tenure security affects sustainable management of land, water, fish stocks, and forests.

The Excessive Food Price Variability Early Warning System was developed and is maintained by IFPRl's Food Security Portal (FSP). It identifies periods of unusual price variability in world commodity markets (i.e. price variability that exceeds a pre-established estimated band). It is updated daily and uses a traffic light system that alerts about the number of days of high, moderate, or low price variability. The excessive price variability measures are estimated through a model of the day to day fluctuations of price variations in futures commodity markets. No full textThe second round of the MHWS was carried out between April 7th, 2022, and June 24th, 2022. In the second round, 12,142 households responded to the survey, 7,786 households were interviewed in both the first and second round, 4,356 households were added in the second round, while 4,314 households dropped out of the sample after the first round. Issues with blackouts and ongoing conflict made it difficult to collect data from rural lower-educated households. No full textInternational prices of food commodities continued to decrease in January 2023 especially for vegetable oils, sugar, dairy, and meat. Resulting in further sluggish overall price inflation in January 2023 of 83.6 compared to 87.3 percent in December 2022.
The national retail prices of food commodities in January 2023 increased slightly compared to December 2022.
Fluctuations in the exchange rate were associated with the change in local prices of imported commodities such as wheat and sugar.
Food prices in relatively unstable states were higher than the national average.
