Developing Comprehensive Competences of College Students through Sports: The Role of Slow Pitch Softball Training
The cultivation of comprehensive competencies is crucial to college students’ development. It is a primary goal of higher education and a need for social development. Currently, issues such as unhealthy mental tendencies, insufficient social skills, and weak social adaptability exist among some Chinese college students. Against the backdrop of promoting college students’ holistic development through physical education, this study analyzed the roles of slow pitch softball in boosting college students’ key competencies based on the features of this sport and proposed suggestions for optimizing slow pitch softball training in college physical education
Neuro-WiFi: Will It Be an Icebreaking Target for Neurological Diseases?
With the progress of neuroscience, there is a growing curiosity and conjecture surrounding neuro-WiFi and its potential influence on neurological diseases. The concept of neuro-WiFi, which entails wireless communication between neurons in the brain, has the potential to profoundly transform our comprehension of brain function and create novel opportunities for therapy. Nevertheless, like any revolutionary technology, there are apprehensions regarding potential targets for neurological illnesses. Wireless communication networks in the brain may create an avenue for malevolent individuals to exploit weaknesses and obtain unauthorized access to neural data. The utilization of neuro-WiFi generates apprehensions regarding privacy, security, and ethical implications. As thus, it is essential to establish strong controls and processes to assure its safe use, in order to optimize its advantages while avoiding any risks related to targeting neurological diseases.
 
The Primary Students’ Understanding of Scientific Models through Epistemological and Ontological Perspective
Achieving the targets of science education mostly depends on the true understanding of the fundamentals where science and the scientific efforts are embedded through the realist ontology and epistemology that science is based on. Models have a special place in science education revealing to understand the nature and status of scientific knowledge. By considering this function of models, this research puts forward the views of the primary students on scientific models. The participants of this qualitative survey research are twenty-eight 7th graders of a primary school in Izmir, Turkey. The participants are given a questionnaire and a worksheet, which were developed by the researchers, addressing both epistemological and ontological character of models. The results showed that students have generally moderate understanding of models through perceptual and ordinary reality

Computer and Video Games in Mental Health
Due to the breakthrough of new technological devices in the last decade, electronic media has now become an integral part of our lives. Among its various forms, playing video games is one screen-based recreational activity enjoyed across various age groups and genders. Although undoubtedly entertaining, there is a considerable debate over the relative impact of video gaming on an individual. Traditionally, the research has focused on the negative effects of playing video games, but recent studies show that they can be an effective tool to reduce stress caused by daily hassles, help connect with likeminded people, and enhance a wide range of cognitive skills. There is also a small pool of research on the use of commercial video games in a therapeutic capacity to help build rapport and provide social skill training. This manuscript is focused on reviewing the pertinent research of the last two decades and from various online sources of scientific information on the abovementioned aspects of electronic and video games, their therapeutic implications in mental health, and suggesting future research directions

Trends and Issues in Science Education in the New Millennium: A Bibliometric Analysis of the JRST
As a real time socio-scientific issue, the COVID-19 pandemic has clearly shown us the need for the public to understand science. As experts have repeatedly stressed in recent years, science education plays an important role in developing scientifically literate societies. In this context, it is critical to consider which subjects science educators frequently concentrate on and the messages they give to researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to use bibliometric data to understand the topics that the articles in the Journal of Research in Science Teaching (JRST), one of the flagship journals about science education and teaching, focused on over the last 20 years. This study employed both descriptive and bibliometric analysis. Based on data from the Web of Science (WoS), descriptive analyses are presented as frequencies and percentages and we used VOSviewer software for bibliometric analysis. Findings showed that more than 80% of the authors of the JRST are from the United States, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Moreover, results of these analyses demonstrate that the researchers publishing in the JRST focused on two main ideas over the past 20 years: “Which science teaching methods and strategies are most effective?” and “What can be done to make science teaching more inclusive?” As a result, it can be clearly seen that JRST has special attention on inclusive approach in science education which should be designed to include traditionally underrepresented groups
Internet Addiction among College Students in China and Its Underlying Causes
The internet’s rapid development has fundamentally altered human society. While the internet has provided human with unprecedented convenience and efficiency and has become crucial to their lives, learning, and work, it has also created a number of social challenges, including internet addiction. Multiple studies have been carried out from diverse viewpoints to investigate the topic of internet dependency among children. Based on an analysis of prior studies, the purpose of this paper is to present an overview of internet addiction among Chinese college students, explain its causes, and summarize its detrimental effects in order to provide recommendations for future research on the subject
Family Capital and the Quality of Senior Secondary Education Opportunities: An Analysis Based on the Post-Junior Secondary Education Tracking in County B of Jiangsu Province
The disparities in the quality of senior secondary education opportunities are one of key topics in educational equity research in China as they have a critical impact on students’ access to higher education and even their future occupational attainments. Students’ senior secondary education opportunities are related to multiple factors. This study attempted to examine the relationship between family capital and the quality of children’s senior secondary education opportunities. The research into the post-junior secondary education tracking in County B of Jiangsu Province demonstrated that compared with vocational secondary education opportunities, children’s access to general senior secondary education (including ordinary and key high schools) was significantly and positively affected by family social capital and less so by family cultural capital, but had a weak correlation with family economic capital; and that cultural capital had more significant impact on children’s admission to high-quality senior secondary schools than to ordinary high schools. Subjective aspects of family capital helped improve the access to ordinary senior secondary education of children from underprivileged classes, whilst objective aspects of family capital could limit their key high school enrollment opportunity. It was suggested that the government push through the implementation of the “quota allocation policy” to promote balanced distribution of high achieving students; and that disadvantaged families make more efforts to increase their cultural capital, and schools and communities provide more support to disadvantaged groups to compensate for their paucity of cultural capital and to upgrade the quality of senior secondary education opportunities of their children
