A Study on the Socio-Economic Conditions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nyaung Shwe Township, (Chit Zaw Aung, 2025)
The study examines the socio-economic conditions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nyaung Shwe Township, Myanmar, following a complex emergency situation that forced many people to flee their homes. The study aims to assess their living conditions, including housing, employment opportunities, education, healthcare, livelihood, income, social integration, and aid from the government and NGOs. 155 IDPs households were surveyed using structured questionnaires. The findings reveal that most IDPs struggle with money due to high unemployment rates, limited access to good schools and healthcare services, and reliance on informal and irregular jobs. This study of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nyaung Shwe Township requires a multisectoral and rights-based approach. By prioritizing livelihood restoration, access to services, community inclusion, and institutional support, stakeholders can help IDPs rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and hope for the future

Causes and Consequences of Human Trafficking and Explottation of Women and Children in Yangon.( Ei Theint Theint Aung, 2025)
Human trafficking and the exploitation of women and children are serious
human rights violations that continue to affect Myanmar, particularly in urban areas
like Yangon. This thesis aims to (1) study the current situation of human trafficking in
Myanmar and (2) investigate the underlying causes and driving factors behind the
trafficking and exploitation of women and children in Yangon. Using a descriptive
method, primary data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 200 victims,
all of whom were women or children. The findings reveal that poverty, unemployment,
limited education, and low public awareness are key factors contributing to their
vulnerability. The study concludes that prevention efforts should focus on targeted
awareness campaigns via television and social media, expansion of legal migration
options, and the creation of decent job opportunities. Improving literacy rates and
strengthening cooperation among relevant departments and communities are also
essential to reducing and controlling human trafficking in Myanmar
A Study on Child Labor in Informal Sector (Case Study: North Okkalapa Township) (Thin Thin Nwe, 2025)
This study explores the conditions, risks, and consequences of child labor in the
informal sector of North Okkalapa Township, Yangon, Myanmar. It aims to analyze
the working conditions faced by child laborers and assess the impact of child labor on
children’s health, education, and overall well-being. Using both secondary data and a
primary survey of 200 working children aged 5–18, the study reveals that the majority
of respondents are engaged in long working hours (81.5%), feel unsafe at work (70%),
and are deprived of education, with 96.5% not currently attending school. Most reported
financial hardship as the main reason for leaving school. Although many children
receive meals and health checkups from employers, high levels of fatigue, limited rest,
and health risks remain concerning. The study suggests strengthening child labor laws,
enhancing workplace safety, increasing access to education for children, and providing
support to low-income families to reduce the need for child labor
