    Nowadays, employee job satisfaction has been a main concern and attention in hotel industry. This study examines the effects of influencing factors on employee job satisfaction at Tungapuri Hotel in Naypyitaw. The objectives of this study are to study the impact of motivation factors on employee job satisfaction at Tungapuri Hotel, to identify the factors influencing on employee job satisfaction at Tungapuri Hotel and to determine the impact of hygiene factors on employee job satisfaction at Tungapuri Hotel. Both primary data and secondary data are used in this study. Primary data are collected from 104 employees by using stratified random sampling method. Data collection period was in March, 2025. In this study, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis are used to meet the objectives of the study.According to the correlation analysis results, recognition, achievement, pay,supervision and working condition are significantly and strongly correlated with job satisfaction. The multiple regression results show that achievement and working condition have positive and significant effects on employee job satisfaction.Recognition, pay and supervision have no significant effects on customer satisfaction.Working condition has the strongest effect on job satisfaction. Therefore, Tungapuri Hotel should emphasize to improve recognition practices, ensure fair and competitive pay and strengthen supervisory skills

    ASSESSING THE INFLUENCING FACTOR OF ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION: CASE STUDY IN TAIKKYI TOWNSHIP

    This study assesses the influencing factors of alcohol consumption in socioeconomics in Taikkyi Township, Myanmar. The objectives of the study are to examine the characteristics of household that consume alcohol and to analyze the factors influencing alcohol consumption on communities in Taikkyi Township. Both primary and secondary data were used in this study. The survey was conducted with 120 households using a simple random sampling method through a structured questionnaire employing a five-point Likert scale. The relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable was analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression methods. The findings reveal that alcohol consumption in Taikkyi Township contributes to a range of health challenges, including chronic diseases, mental health issues, and alcohol-related injuries. The social impacts include weakened family relationships, increased domestic violence, and diminished community cohesion. Economically, households face strained budgets, reduced workplace productivity, and long-term financial instability. Educationally, children from alcohol-affected households exhibit lower academic achievement expectations, higher dropout risks, and reduced parental involvement in their children’s education

    The primary objective of this study is to examine the factors that influence the decision-making processes of international tourists in selecting Bagan and Myanmar as cultural tourism destinations. The quantitative survey method was utilized with well a structured questionnaire which distributed to international tourists visiting Bagan. The sample of 133 were collected among 160 tourists by using convenience sampling method. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis (Cronbach’s alpha), and multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that Attractions, Destination Image and Price were statistically significant and positively influenced on tourists' decisions to choose Bagan as a destination. In contrast, factors such as Quality, Value, Accommodation & Accessibility, and Safety and Security were not significantly influence. These results highlight the critical role of Bagan’s cultural richness, affordability, and perceived image in shaping tourists' preferences. Based on these findings, it is recommended that tourism stakeholders both public and private focus on enhancing the destination image of Bagan, maintaining the authenticity and preservation of its heritage sites, and ensuring price competitiveness. Additionally, there is a need for strategic investment in improving tourism infrastructure and services to meet growing visitor expectations. Policies that promote sustainable and culturally respectful tourism development should be prioritized to enhance tourist satisfaction and increase repeat visitation

    Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Myanmar’s economy and a critical livelihood source for its rural population, particularly in Kayah State. This study examines the contribution of the agricultural sector to the economic growth of Kayah State from 2004 to 2023. As a long-standing cornerstone of the regional economy, agriculture significantly influences employment, income generation, and overall GDP. The research investigates the sector's role in driving economic development by analyzing annual GDP values and sectoral growth rates. It evaluates both the direct and indirect contributions of agriculture to GDP, considering factors such as land use, productivity, and labor force participation. The findings emphasize the critical importance of agriculture in sustaining regional growth. Consequently, the study offers recommendations for policies designed to enhance the sector's contribution to economic development. These interventions should be tailored to address local needs, prioritizing support for infrastructure development to modernize agriculture. Investment in subsectors like livestock and fisheries is also identified as essential. As a cornerstone of Myanmar's economy, sustained efforts to reinforce this sector are vital for the nation's enduring economic progress

    A STUDY OF THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MANAGED BY THE YANGON CITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (CASE STUDY: NORTH DAGON TOWNSHIP)

    This study examines water consumption patterns and service quality under the Yangon City Development Committee's (YCDC) water distribution system, with a focus on North Dagon Township. Using survey data from 200 respondents and regression analysis, the research evaluates demographic influences, infrastructure performance, and user perceptions of water services. Key findings indicate that YCDC's centralized supply system serves as the primary water source for most households, though uneven distribution leads to shortages for a significant minority.Water treatment practices predominantly involve purification or boiling, reflecting consumer precautions despite generally positive quality perceptions. The billing system demonstrates moderate accuracy but remains predominantly flat-rate rather than consumption-based, limiting equitable pricing. Infrastructure challenges are evident through inconsistent water pressure and widespread reliance on electric pumps,signaling systemic delivery inefficiencies. Regression analysis confirms a strong positive relationship between household size and water consumption, highlighting the need for demand-based planning in urban water management. The study concludes with policy recommendations for infrastructure modernization, equitable billing reforms, and targeted quality enhancements to strengthen YCDC's capacity to deliver sustainable water services amid Yangon's rapid urbanization

    This study examines the effects of influencing factors on SMEs development in Bagan. The objectives of the study are to identify the factors affecting on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) development in Bagan and to analyze the effect of influencing factors (registration process, technology and innovation, financial access, labor skill, infrastructure, market access) on SMEs development in Bagan. This study used primary data collected from 75 small and medium enterprises out of a total 93 registered small and medium enterprises at SSID by using through structured questionnaires. Correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis are used to analyze the effects of influencing factors on SMEs development. The result confirms that financial access, labor skill, infrastructure, market access have positive and significant effects on SMEs development in Bagan at 1% significant level. Based on these findings, the study recommends that relevant authorities should focus on strengthening infrastructure, improving access to finance, enhancing labor skills, and expanding market access to support the development of SMEs in Bagan. It also highlights the need for simplifying the business registration process and supporting technology adoption. A coordinated approach involving government, financial institutions, and educational organizations is essential to create a supportive environment for sustainable SME growth

    This study investigates food waste reduction practices on hotel industry in Yangon. The objectives of the study are to analyze the factors influencing the effectiveness of reducing food waste in hotels, and to analyze the effect of effective food waste reduction in promoting sustainable development in Yangon. Both primary and secondary data were used in this study. The research surveyed 270 respondents from 30 hotels in Yangon by using random sampling method through a structured questionnaire employing a five-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple linear regression analysis were applied to assess the relationships among key variables. The findings reveal that prevention, reuse, recycling, effective food waste reduction, and sustainable development are all strongly and positively correlated, highlighting their interconnected roles in successful food waste management within Yangon’s hotel sector. Regression analysis further confirms that these practices have significant effects on effective food waste reduction, with prevention emerging as the most influential determinant. Moreover, the study indicates that effective food waste reduction significantly promotes sustainable development. These results suggest that enhancing preventive measures, fostering reuse and recycling systems, and ensuring employee training and engagement are essential to achieving both waste reduction and sustainability goals

    This study investigates the challenges associated with the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Myanmar, focusing on selected financial institutions including Myanma Economic Bank and Myanma Investment and Commercial Bank. The primary objectives are to study the characteristics of respondents and factors affecting to IFRS system and to analyse the key challenges of IFRS adoption in Myanmar. A mixed-methods approach is utilized in this study. It chooses purposive sampling method and quantitative data from primary surveys in 2025, and also qualitative data is gathered through in-depth interviews with senior government officials from financial institutions and policymaking bodies in Myanmar. In addition, secondary survey data from OAG in 2023 are also utilized to clear understand the challenges the implementation of IFRS. The findings reveal that while IFRS offers benefits such as greater transparency and comparability, significant challenges hinder its adoption. These include a shortage of IFRS-trained professionals, limited practical experience, financial constraints, weak regulatory enforcement, and cultural resistance. Among the challenges, the lack of skilled human resources and financial limitations were consistently rated as the most critical. To overcome these barriers, the study recommends strengthening professional accountancy bodies, updating regulatory frameworks, providing financial and technical support, and improving coordination among stakeholders. These steps are essential for advancing IFRS implementation and enhancing the quality of financial reporting in Myanmar

    This study examines how organizational justice affects employee job performance at Win Shwe Wah Trading Company Limited. The main objectives are to identify the level of perceived organizational justice—focusing on distributive, procedural, and interactional justice—and to analyze how each of these dimensions influences employee performance. The study aims to provide a better understanding of how fairness in the workplace can impact employee behavior and outcomes, particularly in the context of a private trading company in Myanmar. A quantitative research method was used to explore the relationship between organizational justice and employee performance. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire given to 134 employees, selected from a total population of 184 using a stratified random sampling method. The questionnaire included items on justice perceptions and job performance, measured using a 7-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the data, while reliability tests confirmed the internal consistency of the scales. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were used to examine the relationships between the variables. The results showed that employees had moderately positive views of all three types of justice. Among them, interactional justice had the strongest and most significant effect on job performance, followed by procedural justice. Although distributive justice was positively related to performance, it did not show a distinct effect when analyzed with the other two dimensions. These findings highlight the importance of fair treatment, honest communication, and transparent procedures in improving employee performance

    i ABSTRACT This study examines the effect of digital literacy on e-learning of Yangon University students. The objectives include identifying the level of digital literacy of Yangon University students and examining the effect of digital literacy on e-learning of Yangon University students. By using simple random sampling method, sample respondents (254) were survey in this study. Utilizing a quantitative research methodology, this study employs a regression model to analyze the effect of digital literacy on e-learning of Yangon University students. The results showed that the effect of digital literacy was positively correlated with e-learning among the Yangon University students. Moreover, the result highlighted the hardware and software basics, information and data literacy, digital content creation and career-related competencies had positive and significant effect on e-learning of Yangon University students. And, communication and collaboration; and problem solving in security had no effect on e-learning. This study suggests that the digital literacy is crucial for improving the e-learning practices among the university students
