T-cell exhaustion in chronic inflammatory diseases – a scoping review protocol
No full textT cell exhaustion is a distinct state of T cell dysfunction that arises during chronic antigen exposure, including persistent infections, cancer, autoimmunity, and other inflammatory diseases. While this phenomenon is well established in viral infections and cancer, its role in autoimmunity and chronic inflammatory diseases remains poorly defined. Without a comprehensive overview, it remains difficult to determine whether exhaustion mechanisms are shared or disease-specific, to identify biomarkers that reflect disease severity or treatment response, and to evaluate whether therapies targeting exhaustion may have clinical value beyond cancer and infection. By mapping the available evidence, this scoping review aims to clarify how T cell exhaustion is described in different autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, highlight inconsistencies in definitions and methods, and identify disease areas that are understudied. Addressing these knowledge gaps is crucial to guide future mechanistic studies and to support the rational development of new therapeutic strategies for patients with chronic inflammatory conditions

To identify the available evidence on competencies, skills and knowledge needed for physiotherapists and occupational therapists working with children with cerebral palsy (CP) in community healthcare settings.
Introduction:
Physiotherapists and occupational therapists play a key role in providing care for children with cerebral palsy in community healthcare settings. Previous research in CP care has focussed mainly on intervention outcomes rather than specific skillsets or knowledge required by therapists to provide effective care for these children.
Inclusion criteria:
Empirical studies will be included if they examine or describe the role of physiotherapists or occupational therapists working with children 0-18 years old who are diagnosed with CP and are being seen in a community healthcare setting. All study designs will be examined along with grey literature.
Method:
The JBI methodology for scoping reviews will be utilised for this review followed by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) screening checklist. A systematic search strategy will be conducted using MEDLINE, CINAHL, Embase and Web of Science Core Collection. Supplementary searching of reference lists of included studies and relevant reviews, targeted searches of grey literature and professional standards will be carried out. Screening of titles and abstracts will be conducted by two reviewers, as will screening of any full texts that meet the inclusion criteria. Any disagreements will be resolved by a third reviewer at each stage. Data will be extracted utilising a form designed for this purpose. A descriptive numerical summary and a narrative and thematic analysis will be carried out

It explores how rationalist ideals, rooted in Enlightenment thinking and industrial utilitarianism, led to the marginalization of emotional development in favor of measurable logic, obedience, and productivity. The research argues that this neglect created a blind spot in human education systems, leading to widespread emotional illiteracy, internalized repression, and systemic emotional disconnection. The paper concludes by proposing a reintegration of emotional awareness as a foundational pillar of human development—both in traditional education and in future AI-based models like EmotiVerse. Evaluating the effectiveness of digital literacy curriculum: An RCT in Catalan high schools
No full textWe will conduct a randomized trial to examine the effectiveness of a 15-hour high school digital literacy curriculum. The curriculum, which focuses on lateral reading and source credibility, was developed by Verificat, a fact-checking outlet based in Barcelona with whom we are partnering. We will randomize some classes to receive the training, allowing us to estimate treatment effects on fake news discernment, attitudes towards misinformation, and downstream attitudes related to political engagement and media consumption. We will estimate effects immediately post-treatment and after a 3-4 week delay. We will also explore heterogeneity based on class- and student-level factors measured in a pre-treatment survey
A Window into Social Preferences: Common Thought Patterns Reflect Generosity, Fairness, and Social Context
No full textHumans generate thousands of thoughts each day, many of which concern other people. Yet it remains unclear whether these ongoing thoughts vary systematically across social contexts that demand meaningful social behavior, and whether they reflect individual differences in social preferences such as generosity and fairness. To address this question, we combined multidimensional experience sampling (MDES) with an altruism task administered online or in person (total N = 320). Participants made monetary sharing decisions across social contexts that varied in partner cues (distressed, neutral, unidentifiable), while intermittently reporting their ongoing thoughts using MDES. Dimensionality reduction of MDES responses using principal component analysis revealed a small set of common, interpretable, and robust thought patterns characterizing moment-to-moment cognition during social choice. Critically, the expression of these thought patterns tracked variation in social context, generosity, and model-based parameters indexing fairness preferences. Moreover, these patterns generalized to a separate non-social task that did not require social behavior, indicating that they reflect common patterns of cognition rather than task-specific artifacts. Together, these findings provide initial evidence that ongoing thoughts offer a reliable window into social preferences, introducing a novel framework for studying the link between ongoing cognition and social behavior in the laboratory and everyday life
