Adverse events related to aesthetic submental liposuction: a systematic review
Due to its classification as a relatively simple and safe surgical procedure with low rates of complications, studies regarding operative complications arising from submental lipoaspiration are not yet as extensively documented in the literature as are reports on clinical and operative protocols. However, given the expansion of professional groups qualified to perform this surgery, and the exponential increase in patient demand for aesthetic procedures over the past decades, it becomes pertinent to conduct a systematic review that aims to compile the frequency of complications associated with submental lipectomies, along with their clinical and demographic characterization, in an effort to establish an overview of this subject, just as relevant risk patterns and panoramas
Extracellular vesicles as a biomarker for the diagnosis of endometriosis: systematic review and meta-analysis
The use of extracellular vesicles has proven to be promising for the diagnosis of several diseases, since they act in signaling pathways involved in their pathophysiology. Due to this, the study of extracellular vesicles as a biomarker for the diagnosis of endometriosis becomes essential. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate, through a systematic review, the use of extracellular vesicles as a biomarker for the diagnosis of endometriosis. For this purpose, the study will be conducted according to the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The electronic literature search will be carried out using the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases up to April 2026 to answer the PICO question: “Do extracellular vesicles have potential as a biomarker for the diagnosis of endometriosis?” After the selection of the texts, they will be analyzed and relevant information will be extracted. Risk of bias analysis and meta-analysis of significant data will be conducted. Finally, it is expected that the usability of extracellular vesicles as a biomarker for the diagnosis of endometriosis will be determined
Scoping review on the construction and analysis of exposomic risk scores for human health outcomes
The exposome concept encompasses the totality of environmental exposures across the life course and their impact on health. Researchers increasingly combine multiple exposures into composite indices or risk scores (hereafter environmental or exposomic risk scores — ERS) to summarize cumulative or joint exposure and examine associations with health outcomes, improve risk prediction, or facilitate mediation and interaction analyses. This scoping review aims to characterize how ERS have been defined, constructed, and applied in human health research. Specifically, we aim to map the statistical and computational methods used to derive ERS. We also aim to describe methodological decisions related to exposure selection and specification (including spatial and temporal resolution), weighting, normalization, covariate adjustment, and validation or evaluation strategies. By clarifying current approaches and unmet needs, this work aims to inform future methodological development, reporting standards, and applications of ERS in health research

A Systematic Review of The Relationship Between Type I Diabetes and Sleep in Children and Young People and Their Families.
With this systematic review, we aim to examine the association between T1D and sleep in CYP with T1D, and their families (direct caregivers and siblings). To capture both measurable sleep variables (e.g., sleep architecture, sleep duration, insomnia symptoms, sleep quality, etc.) and the lived experiences of CYP and their families, the research questions are structured using the SPIDER framework (Sample, Phenomenon of Interest, Design, Evaluation, Research type; Cooke et al., 2012).
- Sample (S): CYP (0-19 years) living with T1D, their direct caregivers, and their siblings. There are no age restrictions for caregivers and siblings.
- Phenomenon of Interest (PI): The association between T1D and sleep.
- Design (D): Any quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods designs that report sleep outcomes or experiences associated with T1D management and that falls within our inclusion criteria.
- Evaluation (E): Objective and subjective sleep outcomes (including questionnaires and experiential accounts).
- Research type (R): Mixed methods review
Zone-flooding, public confusion, and Signal Detection Theory: A theoretical framework and empirical investigation
While historically, the aim of propaganda was to convince the public of a certain agenda, many political commentators contend that modern forms of disinformation come with a different goal in mind: To confuse, rather than convince. It is believed that to secure this goal, informational spaces are diluted, rather than dominated, a strategy termed “zone-flooding”. The present research provides a unified psychological account of confusion that draws on methods from Signal Detection Theory and metacognition, to examine the public’s object-level ability to discern truth from falsehood and accurate metacognitive insight into that distinction. In two preregistered studies, including one Registered Report, we presented national samples of citizens (study 1, Germany: n = 1,570; study 2, USA: n = 1,891) with true-only, false-only (“classical propaganda”) or noisy (“zone-flooding”) information about climate change in the form of tweets. Across both studies, across various operationalizations of zone-flooding (e.g, targeting the political left vs. right; different numbers of tweets), and against various baselines (politically equated vs. ecologically valid tweets), we find no empirical evidence for the notion that zone-flooding causes confusion. The present work lays the theoretical basis for a psychology of zone-flooding and public confusion within one coherent theoretical and methodological framework
