Replication Data for: Multi-species co-circulation of adenoviruses identified by next generation sequencing during an outbreak in coastal Kenya in 2023

    No full text
This is a replication dataset for the manuscript titled: "Multi-species co-circulation of adenoviruses identified by next-generation sequencing during an outbreak in coastal Kenya in 2023 The main dataset is part of long-term surveillance of enteric viruses associated with diarrhoea. These datasets are part of long-term surveillance of enteric viruses associated with diarrhea among children under 13 years admitted to the KCH study. These datasets contain the results of samples tested by real-time PCR between June 2022 and August 2023. Aside from the samples tested and results of the tests, it also contains the patients’ sociodemographic characteristics, cycle threshold, discharge outcome, and disease severity. The dataset is used to explore the circulating human adenovirus species and types in enteric samples, coinfection, and difference in sociodemographic characteristics.</p

Replication Data for: ‘The Economy is Rigged’: Inequality Narratives, Fairness, and Support for Redistribution in Six Countries

    No full text
Do narratives about the causes of inequality influence support for redistribution? Scholarship suggests that information about levels of inequality does not easily shift redistributive attitudes. We embed information about inequality within a commentary article depicting the economy as being rigged to advantage elites, a common populist narrative of both the left and right. Drawing on the media effects and political economy literatures, we expect articles employing narratives that portray inequality as the consequence of systemic unfairness to increase demands for redistribution. We test this proposition via an online survey experiment with 7,426 respondents in Australia, France, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Our narrative treatment significantly increases attitudes favoring redistribution in five of the countries. In the US the treatment has no effect. We consider several reasons for the non-result in the US – highlighting beliefs about government inefficiency – and conclude by discussing general implications of our findings

Selected personality data from the SAPA-Project: 01Jan2020 to 31Dec2020

Like prior data posted in this repository, these data were collected as part of an initiative to evaluate the structure of personality, specific in the broad domain of temperament. In the context of modern personality theory, temperament is typically construed in terms of the Big Five (Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, Neuroticism, Openness, and Extraversion) though these data cover a wide range of additional constructs, including many that are much more narrow and specific. Data were collected from more than 200,000 visitors to the SAPA-Project website between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. Participants were administered a mixture of survey content that was partially consistent across all respondents and partially distinct. The consistent portion included the SAPA Personality Inventory, various measures from the International Cognitive Ability Resource, and a range of demographic and psychographic questions. Each participant was also administered a random sampling of items from a much larger pool of psychosocial surveys. The data are available in rdata format and are accompanied by documentation stored as a text file. Re-use potential include many types of structural and correlational analyses for personality and personality-outcomes research

Replication Data for: Reverse mixed-ownership reform and earnings quality of Chinese private enterprises: From the perspective of state-owned capital participation

    No full text
This dataset is utilized to empirically examine the reverse mixed-ownership reform's economic effects on private enterprises from the perspective of earnings quality through multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal that state-owned capital participation mainly alleviates the financing constraints of private enterprises through the resource complementarity effect, thus promoting the improvement of private enterprises' earnings quality. Moreover, the dataset allows for investigating the governance optimization effect of state-owned capital in mitigating principal-agent problems, a significantly underexplored area. Through this analytical framework, the dataset facilitates a deeper understanding of how state-owned capital's involvement contributes to the valuation of private enterprises
