Macro-historical Influences, Cohort Dynamics, and the (in)Stability of the Age-Crime Distribution: The Case of the Republic of Korea
The analysis involves age-specific arrest data from 1979 to 2019 in Korea, administered by the Supreme Prosecutor's Office of Korea (SPOK). For the years prior to 2014, we utilized publicly available age-grouped arrest data, which consisted of a mix of 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year brackets. We applied osculatory interpolation techniques to disaggregate these age-grouped data and rearrange the age groups to align with our selected birth cohorts. For the years 2014–2019, we obtained 1-year age-specific arrest data from the Supreme Prosecutor's Office of Korea through a request made to the Open Data Mediation Committee for research purposes (For more details on the request process, please visit https://www.data.go.kr/en/index.do). However, we do not have permission to redistribute this data. Consequently, the data file does not contain the age-specific arrest data used in our analysis. Nonetheless, it will illustrate how we structured our age-period-cohort data, along with the population data used for analysis. The Stata do-file provided will demonstrate the codes we used for the analysis. Please do not hesitate to contact the corresponding author with any questions or if you find any errors in our data and code
TAFSSA District Agrifood Systems Assessment in Bangladesh 2023: Adolescent
TAFSSA (Transforming Agrifood Systems in South Asia) is a CGIAR Regional Integrated Initiative aimed at supporting actions that improve equitable access to sustainable healthy diets, enhance farmers’ livelihoods and resilience, and conserve land, air, and water resources in South Asia. The TAFSSA district agrifood systems assessment aims to provide a reliable, accessible, and integrated evidence base that links farm production, market access, dietary patterns, climate risk responses, and natural resource management with gender as a cross-cutting issue in rural areas of Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. It is designed to be a district-level multi-year assessment.
Data were collected in February-March 2023 in the Rangpur and Rajshahi districts in Bangladesh. Three respondents were interviewed per household: a female adult (aged 20+ years) primarily responsible for managing the household, a male adult (aged 20+ years) primarily responsible for agricultural activities, and an adolescent (aged 10-19 years). The assessment also included a community questionnaire, which interviewed a key informant in the district villages.
The adolescent household respondent interviews were conducted using pretested, structured questionnaires. Information was collected on food intake in the past 24 hours, school attendance, and aspirations
Self-compacting concrete experimental investigation
Title: To conduct experiments to evaluate the workability and strength of self-compacting concrete.
Overview: The test was carried out in the Structural engineering laboratory at the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, India. All the experiments were conducted in February 2024 by Kumar Anjneya, a research scholar in the Department of Civil Engineering, under the guidance of Prof. Arghya Deb.
Objective: To study the role of particle morphology on the rheology and strength of self-compacting fresh concrete
Tests conducted: Sieve analysis, Tests for material characterization of cement, sand and coarse aggregate, Slump test, V-funnel test (& T5 measurement for segregation potential), J-ring, Compression tes

Educational needs for traumatic perinatal events among labor and delivery nurses in Korea: a survey study
Purpose : The present study was conducted to identify the traumatic perinatal events, provision of related education, and education needs of nurses` working in the labor and delivery room.
Method: Nurses working in the labor and delivery room (LDR) were invited to participate in the suvery, delivered via paper or online. The data were collected from October 1 to November 25, 2022. Data from 129 nurses were analyzed using frequency, Chi-square test, Fisher exact test, t-test, and ANOVA.
Result : This study assessed the following six traumatic perinatal events: difficult birth, postpartum bleeding, baby with abnormality, serious injury of mother/baby, stillbirth by dismembering, and loss of mother/baby. Virtually all participants (98.6%) reported having experienced one or more since working in the LDR. The most shocking traumatic perinatal event experienced was the loss of mother and baby (40.3%), yet 24.8% did not recall ever having received education on the topic. About 63% of participants experienced traumatic perinatal events within a year of working in the delivery room. The average education needs for traumatic perinatal events is 3.67±0.37 out of 4 and the effective educational method that is preferred by nurses in the delivery room is simulation education.
Conclusion : Since most of the participants experience various traumatic perinatal events in the early stages of work in the LDR and have a high educational demand for traumatic perinatal events, it is necessary to provide more effective stimulation education programs in the early days of labor and delivery experience
