Preprint version ----> Current paper, introduces Deucalion, a dynamic dataset currently consisted of 5,042 photos from Instagram, which was scraped for researching on the medicane Ianos during September 2020, and two Kaggle sources with flood related content. Other sources, including internet search engines and Flickr complete the data provider list of current version. 1,664 photos of them were imported in LabelStudio and objects were identified and digitized. The objects extracted are currently classified in 15 different classes, including flood, sea, pools, rocks and mud, vegetation. The entire dataset was used for fine-tuning a vgg19, providing thus SOTA metrics, while various classes of the 1,664 subset were used to train a YOLO model. The plethora of different classes and sources, the real world captures, along with the dynamic nature of Deucalion is expected to emerge it as a significant research dataset. Secondary mental health care at district hospitals in low- and middle-income countries: a scoping review
No full textBackground: Global efforts to address the substantial treatment gap for people with mental health conditions have focused on integration of mental health care into general and primary care settings. However, to respond adequately to population mental health needs, the mental health system also requires appropriate secondary and tertiary level care. There is little understanding about the role of district-level general hospitals in the delivery of secondary mental health services. Therefore, the aim of this scoping review is to map and synthesise available evidence on district hospital-based secondary mental health services and to identify barriers and facilitators to establishing hospital-based secondary mental health care for defined populations in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Methods: The method of this scoping review is reported in line with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses-extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guideline and follows the Arksey and O'Malley framework for scoping reviews. Relevant literature will be identified from searches of the following databases of peer-reviewed publications from 2001 to June 2025: PubMed/MEDLINE, PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Global Health, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Web of Science, and Global Index Medicus. We will search online grey literature resources, including PsycExtra, WorldCat, Google Scholar (targeted search), Grey Source Index, and World Health Organisation mental health atlas reports on secondary mental health care. In addition, we will seek to more comprehensively identify documents regarding the roles and functioning of district hospitals in mental health care in at least six purposively selected countries covering all WHO regions, working through country-based contacts to access offline reports. The search will be guided by the participant, concept and context (PCC) framework, including relevant literature from all LMICs with no restriction on study design or language. Quality appraisal will be conducted on studies evaluating impact or exploring processes or experiences of care. Data will be charted, synthesised and presented alongside illustrative case studies from the selected countries.
Discussion: Findings from this scoping review are crucial to understand the potential contribution of district hospitals to secondary mental health care services for a defined population. This will inform efforts to develop implementation guidance for policy-makers and planners to expand secondary mental health services at the district level in diverse LMIC settings

Using the eRm package for Rasch modeling
No full textThe “extended Rasch modeling” (eRm) package in R provides users with a comprehensive set of tools for Rasch modeling for scale evaluation and general modeling. We provide a brief introduction to Rasch modeling followed by a review of literature that utilizes the eRm package. Then, the key features of the eRm package for scale evaluation are reviewed. The ease of use and the advantages of the R environment make the eRm package an appealing free option for rigorous Rasch modeling. We demonstrate the functionality with a small example using data from the Rosenberg Self-Esteem scale. Using these data we show how to 1) fit dichotomous and polytomous Rasch models, 2) obtain key figures (e.g., item characteristic curves and person-item maps) to aid model assessment , 3) assess dimensionality, and 4) obtain item fit statistics
