SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF THE REPRESENTATION OF BACPACKER TOURISM IN THE FILM "TRINITY, THE NEKAD TRAVELER"
Get PDFAbstract: As an archipelagic country with enormous tourism potential, it can boost state income through foreign exchange. Even though data on foreign tourist visits in 2023 increased 98% compared to 2022 and is dominated by private visits, Indonesia is only ranked 4th in ASEAN regarding tourism visits. The stimulus for building a tourism image is the spearhead for national tourism, one of which is through the medium of film. "Trinity, The Nekad Traveler" is a film that focuses on national tourism by presenting the backpacker concept. This research aims to determine the movie "Trinity, The Nekad Traveler" in representing backpacker travelers and backpacker tourism using a semiotic analysis approach modeled by Charles Sanders Peirce. The research results show that based on signs, objects, and interpretations in various scenes, the film "Trinity, The Nekad Traveler" represents the characteristics of backpackers and backpacker tourism.

Abstrak: Sebagai negara kepulauan dengan potensi wisata yang sangat besar yang mampu mendongkrak pendapatan negara melalui devisa. Sekali pun data kunjungan wisatawan mancanegara tahun 2023 meningkat 98% dibanding tahun 2022 dan didominasi oleh kunjungan personal, Indonesia hanya menempati urutan ke-4 di ASEAN dalam hal kunjungan pariwisatanya. Stimulus tentang pembangunan citra pariwisata menjadi ujung tombak terhadap eksistensi pariwisata nasional, salah satunya dengan media film. “Trinity, The Nekad Traveler” merupakan salah satu film yang mengangkat tentang pariwisata nasional dengan mengemas konsep backpacker. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui film “Trinity, The Nekad Traveler” dalam merepresentasikan backpacker traveler dan backpacker tourism dengan pendekatan analisis semiotika model Charles Sanders Peirce. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan sign, object dan interprenant pada berbagai adegannya, film “Trinity, The Nekad Traveler” merepresentasikan tentang karakteristik backpacker traveler dan backpacker tourism.

The Role of E-Commerce in Equitable Digital Economy in Indonesia
Get PDFThe rapid development of online trading or e-commerce has become a new phenomenon in the Indonesian economy. This fact has not been proven to impact the welfare of digital economic equality in Indonesia positively. This study intends to explain the role of e-commerce in the distribution of the digital economy in Indonesia. This study uses a systematic literature review method. The data sources for this research come from books, journals, and other literature related to the role of e-commerce in the distribution of the digital economy in Indonesia. The findings in this literature review conclude that, ideally, high e-commerce transactions can benefit the realization of economic equality in Indonesia. This fact can be found in the e-commerce business, which has embraced local economic sectors such as agriculture, plantations, fisheries, and even MSMEs in all regions by playing an active role in this digital-based trade. Technology has been proven to break the long chain in the distribution process. Business actors in rural areas and regional MSMEs can be essential if they can make friends with technological sophistication. Local business actors can increase their productivity and welfare. Support from the Indonesian government is urgently needed to build infrastructure to realize trade through digital media in villages and remote areas. Through an analytical approach, this paper explores various innovative strategies that companies can implement to attract and retain generation Z as customers and employees. The results of the study indicate that the integration of technology, sustainability, and social engagement are key factors in creating added value for businesses in the digital era. Get PDFAbstrak: Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk berkontribusi pada literatur dengan berfokus pada hubungan antara literasi keuangan syariah dan perilaku investasi sekaligus mengidentifikasi efek mediasi perilaku pengelolaan keuangan syariah di kalangan generasi milenial. Penelitian ini mengadopsi desain penelitian kuantitatif. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui penyebaran dan pengisian kuesioner oleh generasi milenial di Surabaya. Penyebaran kuesioner dilakukan dalam rentang waktu 3 bulan (September-Oktober 2023). Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari generasi milenial di Surabaya, dan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. SmartPLS versi 4 digunakan sebagai alat analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi keuangan syariah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku pengelolaan keuangan syariah, perilaku pengelolaan keuangan syariah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku investasi, perilaku pengelolaan keuangan syariah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan dalam memediasi hubungan tersebut. antara literasi keuangan syariah dengan perilaku investasi, dan literasi keuangan syariah tidak berpengaruh terhadap perilaku investasi.

Abstract: The main objective of this study is to contribute to the literature by focusing on the relationship between Islamic financial literacy and investment behavior while identifying the mediating effect of Islamic financial management behavior among millennials. This study adopts a quantitative research design. The data of this study was obtained through distributing and filling out questionnaires by millennials in Surabaya. The questionnaires were distributed within a span of 3 months (September-October 2023). The population in this study consisted of millennials in Surabaya, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. SmartPLS version 4 was used as a data analysis tool. The results showed that Islamic financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on Islamic financial management behavior, Islamic financial management behavior has a positive and significant effect on investment behavior, Islamic financial management behavior has a positive and significant effect in mediating the relationship between Islamic financial literacy and investment behavior, and Islamic financial literacy has no effect on investment behavior.

Get PDFThe scholars have different theories concerning Islam coming to Nusantara. They believed that the first community to accept Islam was the residents of the coastal areas of Sumatera, Java, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Maluku, Nusa Tenggara, and Papua. Afterward, Islam was disseminated to rural areas throughout the Nusantara including fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), one of the fundamental teachings of Islam. This reception was surely through a long process and resistance from the indigenous residents of the Nusantara who already had local religions and beliefs practiced continuously by hereditary generations. Badui in Banten and Kampung Naga, West Java were indigenous residents of the island. This article seeks to discuss the negotiating process of fiqh among Badui and Kampung Naga’s communities from historical and anthropological viewpoints. This article argues that the negotiating of fiqh by the community of Badui is limited to particular cases such as marriage and inheritance. DEVELOPING ENGLISH SPEAKING MATERIAL USING BANJARESE LOCAL WISDOM AND WETLANDS FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN BANJARMASIN
Get PDFThe topic raised in this research is developing English speaking supplementary materials based on Banjarese local wisdom and wetlands. This topic was raised considering that the wetlands and local wisdom around the students were able to provide them with a context that could help them learn English that could be used in everyday life. If we look at the textbooks used by students in class, most of the examples and materials used are not based on the things around them. Therefore, this research was conducted to develop English speaking supplementary materials based on Banjarese local wisdom and wetlands which are valid and practical. The model used in this research and development is the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model is a model that has been used by many developers and stands for Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the research that has been done, students think that they need supplementary materials based on Banjarese local wisdom and wetlands. In addition, after going through the designing, developing, implementation, and evaluation processes, it was found that there are two advantages of the supplementary materials. The first is the supplementary material was developed with needs assessment, thus, the materials developed is fit with the students of eleventh grade’s needs, teachers’ needs, and English subject syllabus for eleventh grade senior high schools. The second advantage is that the English speaking supplementary materials developed were valid and practical for use in classroom learning.
 
DEVELOPING PRAGMATIC COMPETENCE IN EFL SPEAKING THROUGH ROLEPLAY
Get PDFTeaching speaking is intrinsically complicated but it is quite challenging at once. Pragmatic competence, an essential element of speaking competence, refers to the ability to use appropriately selected forms of language to express and to interpret the intended speaker's meanings in various contexts. Despite its vital role in fostering social harmony within everyday communication, developing such a competence seems 'easier said than done'. As pessimistically voiced by some EFL speaking teachers and several empirical studies, this ability does not seem well developed among EFL students of all education levels in Indonesia. Hence, English speaking teachers in this country should pull out all the stops to find a potentially effective teaching strategy in this issue. This article proposes a prescribed roleplay, enhanced by the utilization of social media applications, i.e. YouTube or Instagram, for teaching a speech act. The utilization of social media platforms potentially generates students’ learning motivation since it enables them to have a one-click access to authentic speaking learning resources and to journal students' progress in conversational practices. This prescribed roleplay comprises twofold stages, i.e. (i) to activate the students' pragmatic awareness and (ii) to execute a step-by-step instructional activities; Hopefully, such a teaching practice will inspire our dedicated ELT speaking teachers aiming at developing pragmatic competence within the students' speaking command
KONVERGENSI TEOLOGIS: Analisis intertekstual antara Al-Qur'an dan Bibel dalam Tafsir al-Qur’an karya Zainuddin Hamidy dan Fachruddin HS
Get PDFThe discourse of interpreting the Qur'an using the Bible is a controversial topic among mufassirs, especially among contemporary mufassirs in Nusantara. This article aims to discuss the intertextuality interpretation of Zainuddin Hamidy and Fachruddin Hs in Surah Al-Baqarah, especially in the context of using the Bible as a reference in understanding the Qur'an. This intertextuality approach raises interesting questions about how two different scriptures can influence the understanding and interpretation of the Qur'an, as well as its implications for understanding Islam in Indonesia. The research method used in this article is library research with content analysis technique, which allows in-depth analysis of the content of the tafsir al-Qur'an by Zainuddin Hamidy and Fachruddin Hs. By using Edip Yuksel's cross reference theory, the results of this study show that the Biblical quotations set forth by Zainuddin Hamidy and Fachrudin HS in their works are influenced by previous books used as references. There are two intertext models used by Zainuddin Hamidy and Fachrudin HS in Q.S al-Baqarah including: First, the comparative model by comparing the Bibel with the Qur'an or Islamic teachings. Double Burden (Dual Roles) of Women in Domestic and Public: Perspectives Surah Al-Qasas 23 and Surah Al-Ahzab 33
No full textThe term "Double Burden" refers to a situation in which women simultaneously hold two or more roles as wives, mothers, and employees outside the house, alongside their traditional roles within the household. In this framework, a conflict arises between family responsibilities and employment, creating a dilemma faced by many working women. In Islam, there are various perspectives on the roles of women, including whether they should work outside the house or focus more on domestic duties. This article discusses the two roles performed by women, both in the domestic and public spheres. There are two Quranic verses that indicate different point of views: Surah Al-Qasas: 23 demonstrates women's ability to work outside the home, while Surah Al-Ahzab: 33 suggests that women are better off engaging in activities within the home. The result is the domestic and public roles can both function with the commitment between partners and in accordance with their respective abilities to fulfill their responsibilities
Aplikasi Metodologi Yusuf Al-Qardhawi Dalam Interpretasi Hadis Laknat Bagi Peziarah Wanita
Get PDFThis research discusses about interpretation of hadith which explains that women who make grave pilgrimages will be cursed by Allah or Rasulullah. In this research, the methodology used is the methodology of interpreting Hadith of Yusuf al-Qardhawi. The research methodology used is descriptive-analysis, namely carrying out a description of the data collected, then carrying out an in-depth analysis to achieve the research objectives. Among the discussions in this research are, 1). Presentation of data regarding hadith and al-Jarḥ wa al-Ta'dīl hadith transmitter that will be examined. 2). Takhrīj hadith Curse for female pilgrims in kutub al-tis’ah. 3). Interpretation of the cursed hadith for female pilgrims using Yusuf al-Qardhawi's meaning methodology. This research concludes that 1). The main hadith used is the cursed hadith for female pilgrims narrated by Abu Hurairah. This hadith has saḥīḥ qualities. The reason is, all of the hadith transmitters have al-Jarḥ wa al-Ta'dīl good status and does not affect about hadith quality. 2). There are 15 same hadiths and seven similar hadiths. Among the seven hadiths, four allow grave pilgrimage for women, and the remaining three prohibit it. 3). Based on the interpretation of the hadith through Yusuf al-Qardawi's methodology, it is mentioned that women pilgrims who will be cursed by God are women who make pilgrimages very often and excessively
