This study examines the personality competencies of Islamic Religious Education teachers from the perspective of the Qur'an, focusing on the gap between theoretical ideals and practical implementation in the field. Despite clear Qur'anic guidance on noble morals, honesty, exemplary behavior, and responsibility, many teachers face challenges in applying these values in their professional lives. This research utilizes a library-based approach, involving the collection and analysis of data from books, scientific journal articles, and research reports. The data collection techniques include document analysis and literature review. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively, involving thematic coding to identify relevant themes related to the Qur'an’s teachings on teacher competencies. The findings underscore that an ideal Islamic teacher embodies obedience to religious, legal, and social norms, as illustrated in Surah An-Nisa (4:59). Honesty and integrity are crucial, highlighted in Surah An-Nisa (4:69), emphasizing the role model nature of teachers. Noble morals, inspired by Prophet Muhammad as depicted in Surah Al-Qalam (68:4) and Surah Al-Ahzab (33:21), serve as models for conduct. Leadership and wisdom, as conveyed in Surah Al-Furqan (25:63) and Surah Al-Mujadila (58:11), aid teachers in guiding students effectively. A strong work ethic and responsibility are essential, as reflected in Surah An-Naml (27:88), while humility, in line with the teachings of Surah Luqman (31:18), should temper professional pride. This research contributes to the development of more spiritually grounded and morally upright Islamic teachers by aligning their competencies with Qur'anic principles

    Get PDF
This article aims to analyze the integration of the social life cycle assessment (S-LCA) principle in the holistic evaluation of Islamic education. This study employed a systematic literature review method consisting of four stages: identification, selection, eligibility assessment, and inclusion. A total of 2,084 scientific articles were identified through the Scopus database using keywords such as "S-LCA," "social impact assessment," and "Islamic education evaluation." Most of these articles were published in international journals and conference proceedings from various countries. After applying the inclusion criteria, 32 articles were selected that specifically discussed the application of the Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) approach in the evaluation of Islamic education. According to the results of a systematic review of thirty-two chosen articles, S-LCA is a method for assessing social factors and social impacts at every stage of a product or service's life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to the production process, distribution, use, and management. This systematic review identified at least five core ethical principles as the theoretical and practical foundation for the use of S-LCA: social and humanitarian justice, full life cycle analysis, transparency and participatory involvement, social and cultural contextualization, and sustainability and social transformation. Three fundamental approaches can be used to implement the concept of adaptation: the classification of stakeholders in Islamic education, the reformulation of social indicators, and the research of adaptation units. With adjustments to the unit of analysis, indicators, and stakeholders, S-LCA can be a thorough alternative approach for assessing the value and merits of Islamic education

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine the transformation of character education by implementing local wisdom values in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Gorontalo City. This research uses a qualitative type, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. The study results show that character education is transformed through implementing local wisdom values, such as huyula, which are integrated into character education through three main strategies: internalization of values, integration in learning, and habituation through daily practice. The values of local wisdom are introduced cognitively, internalized affectively, and manifested in students' actions. This transformation shows that character education based on local wisdom can sustainably shape the students' social attitudes, care, and cooperation. In addition, this approach proves the effectiveness of contextual pedagogy in bridging the values of local wisdom, religious teachings, and national educational goals. Therefore, the integration of local wisdom values in character education needs to be strengthened and replicated in the context of education in all aspects to provide significant scientific contributions in the development of character education studies based on local wisdom. This finding also strengthens the understanding that integrating local wisdom values , such as cooperation, can be a contextual and relevant foundation in shaping students' character

Lexical and Cultural Nuances in Arabic–Indonesian Translation: Strategies for Novice Translators

    Get PDF
This study explores the lexical and cultural challenges faced by novice translators in Arabic–Indonesian translation, a field that remains relatively underexplored despite its significant pedagogical relevance. The primary aim of this research is to identify common types of translation difficulties and to analyze the strategies employed by novice translators to address them. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected from 15 fifth-semester students of the Arabic Language Education Program at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kerinci, who were enrolled in a translation course. Data were gathered through translation tasks, reflective journals, and semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis was employed to identify recurring patterns of difficulties and strategies consistently observed during the translation process. The analysis revealed that major translation difficulties stemmed from the morphological complexity of Arabic, syntactic differences, semantic ambiguity, and cultural-linguistic gaps between Arabic and Indonesian. Three key patterns of difficulty were identified: misinterpretation of polysemous words, literal translation of idiomatic expressions, and loss of cultural meaning in context-bound terms. While most participants relied on literal translation and simplification strategies, they generally lacked adequate strategic awareness. Based on these findings, the study proposes a learner-centered contextual strategy model integrating explicit grammar instruction, contrastive Arabic–Indonesian analysis, and meaning-based scaffolding. This model is designed to support novice translators in producing more accurate, context-sensitive, and culturally appropriate translations. The study contributes to the pedagogical development of Arabic–Indonesian translation studies by highlighting learner needs and offering practical solutions relevant to the early stages of language acquisition

The aim of the current research is to examine the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral program in reducing cortisol levels among 12th-grade science stream female students. The researchers adopted the experimental method, as it is appropriate for the topic of the research. The study sample consisted of 60 female students from secondary schools in the Faida area, Dohuk Governorate. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of 30 students who underwent the cognitive-behavioral program, and a control group of 30 students who did not receive any intervention during the implementation of the program. The participants were selected using a purposive sampling method. To achieve the research objective, the researchers formulated two main hypotheses: first, there is no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the mean scores of cortisol level reduction in the experimental and control groups, and second, there is no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the pre-test and post-test scores in reducing cortisol levels among the experimental group. The study relied on salivary cortisol measurements to assess psychological stress levels, and the cognitive-behavioral program was prepared by the researchers. The psychometric properties of the biological measurements (validity, reliability, measurement accuracy, result reliability) were established. The measurements were then applied, and data were collected and analyzed statistically using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The research concluded that there is a significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group in reducing cortisol levels. The results also showed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group in favor of the post-test in terms of reducing cortisol levels
