Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model for Science Material on Prevention of Dengue Fever for Elementary School
Get PDFDengue fever is very common in Indonesia. In June 2024, there will be 119.709 cases with a deadth rate of 777 cases. Most of the spread occurs in schools, so learning about dengue fever is very important. This research aims to provide the concept of a problem based learning model to explain dengue fever lessons to students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research are (1) Many students do not have comprehensive knowledge about dengue fever (2) The learning process about dengue fever is still carried out conventionally, namely by reading textbooks at school so that students do not have direct experience in preventing the spread of dengue fever mosquitoes (3) The problem based learning model provides a solution for explaning dengue fever in schools. This model invites students to solve problems and trains students to think critically. In problem based learning there are five syntaxes carried out by the teacher. Of the five syntaxes, there are three main steps, namely learning preconditions, core learning agenda and post-learning. Students are invited to actively search for information, observe, process data until they are able to provide conclusions about the dengue fever problem they are facing
The Effectiveness of a Psychological Counseling Program on Developing Future Optimism Among Students of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Zakho University
Get PDFThe current study aimed to identify the level of future optimism among students of the College of Education, specializing in Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and to determine the significance of differences based on certain demographic variables (gender, residence, marital status). Additionally, the study aimed to construct a psychological counseling program for the sample individuals. This research is quantitative. The study population included all fourth-year students of the morning session at the College of Education - Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Zakho University, totaling 39 students. The sample was chosen purposively, representing 31% of the total population. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. Data analysis techniques using the Wilcoxon non-parametric test and the Mann-Whitney U test. The results indicated a low level of future optimism, with no significant differences observed in the sample attributed to demographic variables or the effectiveness of the psychological counseling program. Based on the findings, recommendations and suggestions were presented at the study's conclusion
Teachers' Reflections and Students' Perceptions of Blended Learning in Increasing English Learning Independence at Islamic High School
Get PDFThis study aims to explore the reflections of an English teacher and the perceptions of eleventh-grade students regarding the implementation of blended learning, with a specific focus on its impact on learner autonomy. It seeks to understand how this approach fosters independent learning and to identify the challenges encountered during its application in a secondary school context. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, involving the researcher as the English teacher and thirty purposively selected students from MAN 2 Ponorogo. Data were collected through the teacher’s written reflections, open-ended student questionnaires, and informal interviews to gain deeper insights into participants’ experiences. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, involving systematic coding, categorizing, and interpreting emerging themes. Findings indicate that blended learning positively contributes to the development of learner autonomy. Students demonstrated enhanced time management, increased initiative in accessing learning resources, and a greater sense of responsibility for their learning progress. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, particularly related to technological readiness, internet reliability, and time constraints faced by both students and the teacher. The study concludes that the successful implementation of blended learning requires carefully designed instructional strategies, sufficient technological infrastructure, and consistent institutional support to maximize its potential in promoting autonomous learning in the English classroom

Get PDFThis research aims to analyze women's leadership in Islamic education at Muhammadiyah Senior High School Special Program West City and its impact on the quality of education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the leadership strategies implemented positively impact student's academic achievements, as evidenced by the improvement in national exam results and the high acceptance rates of students in prestigious universities. In addition, teacher training programs and data-driven evaluation systems create a more innovative and inclusive learning environment. Research Trends on Parental Involvement in Inclusive Education and its Implications for Inclusive Education Programs: A Bibliometric Analysis
Get PDFThis article examines research trends on parental involvement in inclusive education in reputable databases. The method used is bibliometric analysis with the Biblioshiny application and the central database analyzed from scopus.com. The keywords used were "parental involvement" and "inclusive education" in research from 1975 to 2024. After the extraction process with only article publications in scientific journals, 170 publication data were obtained. The results of bibliometric analysis show that in nearly 50 years, the number of studies tends to be small—most research centers in the United States, with the most productive institution being the University of Minnesota. At the same time, the most productive researcher is Gabriella Pusztai, who has three publications. The primary reference journal is Early Child and Development Care. When viewed from keywords, child, parent, and parental involvement are the most dominant keywords researchers use. This provides a comprehensive picture of the development of parental involvement research. Furthermore, research is expected to be more contextualized with the socio-cultural conditions where the research is conducted to add to the diversity of research related to parental involvement, especially in inclusive education
Tandziful ‘Am: Islamic Boarding School Traditions in Caring for Harmony Interreligious People
Get PDFThis article discusses the tradition of fanciful 'being carried out by the Darul Hikmah Islamic boarding school in maintaining harmony between Muslims and Christians in the city of Medan. This study uses a qualitative method with a field research type. The subjects of this study were teachers, students, and the Christian community living around the Darul Hikmah Islamic boarding school in Medan. The object of this study is the tradition of fanciful 'being carried out by the Darul Hikmah Islamic boarding school and the surrounding community to clean the environment around the Islamic boarding school and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between religious communities. This study found that the tradition of fanciful 'being carried out by the Darul Hikmah Islamic boarding school has a major impact on the harmony of Muslims and Christians in the city of Medan, especially in the community around the Islamic boarding school, as evidenced by the absence of disputes between the Muslim community living in the Islamic boarding school and the Christian community living in the area around the Islamic boarding school, even good interaction is established between the two as evidenced by the attitude of the Christian community who are always willing to cooperate in various social activities, and the existence of Islamic boarding school policies in the use of loudspeakers that pay attention to the comfort of the Christian community. This research has implications for revealing Islamic boarding schools' role in promoting tolerance values and providing deeper insights into local practices contributing to social cohesion in multi-religious societies
Using Multimodal Learning in Arabic Vocabulary Instruction at Islamic Elementary School
Get PDFThis study investigates using a multimodal learning technique in teaching Arabic vocabulary to sixth-grade primary school pupils at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Mathlaul Anwar. Researchers employed a qualitative technique to understand better how a multimodal learning strategy is utilized to acquire Arabic. This study used both primary and secondary data. Primary data, collected directly from the source, consisted of classroom observations and in-depth interviews with the teacher and 36 sixth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Mathlaul Anwar. Secondary data is gathered from existing sources, including relevant literature, teaching materials, and student textbooks. The data analysis in this research uses Stevick's phenomenological method, focusing on understanding participants' subjective experiences. It involves collecting data through interviews, observations, and documents, then analyzing themes to interpret the meanings of participants' experiences. Observations and studies indicate that using multimodal learning to teach Arabic vocabulary at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Mathlaul Anwar offers significant benefits, notably improved student interest, memory, and language competency. Presenting information through multiple modalities, rather than just text, increases student engagement and motivation. Therefore, multimodal learning can effectively enhance Arabic language instruction in elementary schools. The study recommends that teachers incorporate diverse media, especially stimulating student senses, more frequently during lessons to achieve better language teaching outcomes

Get PDFThis study aims to analyze the role of counseling in helping adolescents deal with physical and emotional changes during puberty, explain the impact of these changes on mental and social well-being, develop effective strategies in counseling, evaluate its effectiveness in improving self-understanding, emotional management, and social skills of adolescents, and encourage the implementation of more optimal counseling in schools, families, and communities. The library method in this study was carried out by collecting, reviewing, and analyzing various relevant written sources, such as books, scientific journals, research articles, and academic reports that discuss theories of adolescent development and the effectiveness of counseling in improving mental and social well-being of adolescents, in order to formulate evidence-based recommendations regarding best practices in counseling for adolescents. Effective counseling plays an important role in helping adolescents deal with physical and emotional changes during their transition. This program has been shown to improve self-understanding, reduce anxiety and depression levels, and develop emotional management skills through relaxation techniques and open communication. In addition, counseling also contributes to improving adolescents' social skills, so that they are more confident in interacting with their surroundings
