Acceptance of Children with Special Needs in Inclusive Settings Through Ecological System Theory
Parental acceptance of children with special needs is a crucial component in the success of inclusive early childhood education. This study aims to explore the factors influencing the acceptance process using Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving three mothers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) enrolled in an inclusive playgroup at Nurul Jannah, Bandung. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using inductive thematic analysis following Braun and Clarke's procedures. The findings reveal that family pressure, marital conflict, and emotional fatigue hinder the acceptance process. In contrast, strong support from the nuclear family fosters faster acceptance and proactive involvement in therapy and education. Interactions within the family microsystem appear to be the most influential factor in shaping parental responses. These results suggest that parental acceptance is not merely a personal matter but a product of complex social dynamics within ecological systems. Therefore, intervention strategies must be systemic, involving both family and broader social environments. The study recommends future research to examine the roles of mesosystem and macrosystem actors, and to apply longitudinal approaches to observe changes in parental acceptance over time
Evaluation Study of the Green School Program in Islamic Schools
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Green School Program in enhancing student character education at Adzkia Islamic School Boarding School in South Tangerang City. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the study adopts the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) evaluation model. The research involved 10 informants, including the principal, teachers, dormitory caretakers, and high school students. Data were collected through structured interviews, observations, and documentation, and analysed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings indicate that while the Green School and character education programs are being effectively implemented, several areas require improvement, such as the availability of environmental infrastructure, curriculum integration, individual-level evaluations, and reporting mechanisms. Theoretically, this study supports the role of environmentally-based education in shaping student character. Practically, it provides insights for school administrators and policymakers to enhance sustainable character education through comprehensive planning and infrastructure. Future research is recommended to develop assessment instruments and explore program impacts quantitatively across different school levels
Building Character Through Self-Identification in Indonesian Overseas School Students in Saudi Arabia
Building character through self-identification in students of Indonesian Overseas Schools in Saudi Arabia is an important study to discuss. Students' character does not grow only by accepting theories and concepts in classroom learning, but it requires habits in their daily lives so that it becomes a habitual attitude. This study aims to capture the attitude of respect for students at SILN Saudi Arabia towards themselves, others, the environment, and the multicultural relationships they experience. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the concept's foundation of moral education by Syekh Al-Zarnuji in the book Ta’lim Muta’alim and Will Kymlicka's multicultural theory as the basis for its study. The main finding in this study is the uniqueness of students' characters, shown in positive attitudes in daily life. This good attitude positively affects students' personal lives and has implications for their survival when interacting with others. The recommendation in this study is the need to build synergy between schools, guardians of students and the community, so that the development of good character in students can be maintained when they are at home, at school, or while doing activities in the community, as well as in their lives in the future

The Religious Dilemma of Prospective Hajj Pilgrims Facing Waiting Lists and Hajj Costs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Kudus Regency 2024
This study aims to analyze the religious dilemmas experienced by these pilgrims in response to those challenges, including the influence of personal, economic, and religious factors on their decisions. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with ethnographic methods, the research was conducted through observations and in-depth interviews with registered pilgrims and officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Kudus. The primary data were obtained from field interviews with seven prospective pilgrims, two Hajj service officials, and three religious counselors. Additional data were gathered through participatory observation during official Hajj preparation meetings and religious counseling sessions. Document analysis was also conducted using official records from the Ministry. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show three dominant behavioral responses: 85% of pilgrims remain committed to waiting for their scheduled departure, 5% choose to withdraw their savings and perform Umrah, and 10% cancel their plans entirely. These decisions are shaped by considerations such as age, health conditions, financial capacity, and levels of religious understanding. From the perspective of Islamic law, each response represents a different interpretation of istitha’ah (ability) and is evaluated within the framework of maslahat (benefit) and darurat (necessity). The study concludes that pilgrims' religious behavior is not solely influenced by administrative barriers but also reflects their internal spiritual judgment and adaptive understanding of Islamic teachings in dealing with contemporary challenges. These findings offer valuable insight for Hajj policymakers to accommodate religious needs while addressing practical limitations
The Influence of Principal’s Academic Supervision, the Role of Motivator Teachers, and Teachers’ Work Discipline on School Quality at Public Elementary Schools
This study aims to examine the influence of principal academic supervision, the role of teacher leaders (Guru Penggerak), and teacher work discipline on the quality of elementary schools in Gunungpati District, Semarang City. Employing a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method and correlational design, the research involved a total population of 270 public elementary school teachers across 32 schools. A sample of 161 teachers was selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire measured on a Likert scale and tested for validity and reliability using SPSS software. Data analysis techniques included prerequisite tests (normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity) and hypothesis testing through multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that principal academic supervision significantly influenced school quality with a contribution of 65.5%; the role of teacher leaders contributed 56.1%; and teacher work discipline contributed 59.2%. Simultaneously, the three variables accounted for 75.5% of the variance in school quality. These results demonstrate that internal school factors play a crucial role in achieving educational quality. The study underscores the importance of optimizing the principal's supervisory role, strengthening teacher leadership capacity, and fostering a disciplined work culture among teachers. The findings provide empirical evidence that can inform policy and strategic decisions to improve school quality at the institutional and systemic levels
Kayuh Baimbai Philosophy in Banjar Culture and Schools with Excellent Character
This study explores the application of Kayuh Baimbai values—emphasizing mutual cooperation, solidarity, and social responsibility—in character-excellent schools in Banjarmasin City. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, principals, and students; participatory observations; and analysis of school documents such as curricula and activity reports. The selected schools are recognized for integrating local wisdom into their educational practices. Data were analyzed thematically through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation ensuring validity. The findings reveal that Kayuh Baimbai's values are embedded across multiple school domains: classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, policy-making, and social programs. These values strengthen students’ cultural identity, interpersonal relationships, and sense of collective responsibility. However, the study also identifies implementation challenges, including superficial student understanding, limited teacher training, and pressure to meet academic benchmarks that constrain value-based education. The study concludes that while Kayuh Baimbai has significant potential for character development, its effective application requires systemic reforms particularly in curriculum design, teacher training, and school-community collaboration. It also recommends adapting these traditional values to address contemporary social issues such as digital citizenship and environmental responsibility, ensuring their continued relevance in a modern educational context
