“I have confidence in you”:Activating Eric Andersen’s <i>Opus 51</i>
This chapter discusses the scored piece Opus 51, written by the Danish intermediaartist Eric Andersen (b. 1943) in 1964. In particular, we address the central elementof trust involved in performing the piece and how this leads the work to adapt toand, indeed, be shaped by the institutional codes that frame its performance.
