    Get PDF
The Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation or GSMaP data which is used to display the rainfall data was used to analyze and create the rainfall forecasting model. This work is the evaluation of this rainfall forecasting model which is the short-term forecast. The GSMaP forecasting data were matched with the GSMaP history data and calculate their similarity values by applying the original image matching method. The modification of Rainfall Forecasting Model and its evaluation that applied the original image instead of the image hash improve the accuracy of rainfall forecasted results

PWiseHA: Application of Harmony Search Algorithm for Test Suites Generation using Pairwise Techniques

    Get PDF
Pairwise testing is an approach that tests every possible combinations of values of parameters. In this approach, number of all combinations are selected to ensure all possible pairs of parameter values are included in the final test suite. Generating test cases is the most active research area in pairwise testing, but the generation process of the efficient test suite with minimum size can be considered as one of optimization problem. In this research paper we articulate the problem of finding a pairwise final test suite as a search problem and the application of harmony search algorithm to solve it. Also, in this research paper, we developed a pairwise software testing tool called PWiseHA that will generate test cases using harmony search algorithm and this PWiseHA is well optimized. Finally, the result obtained from PWiseHA shows a competitive results if matched with the result of existing pairwise testing tools. PWiseHA is still in prototype form, an obvious starting point for future work

oai:ojs2.ijcit.com:article/1<p align="justify">Sensation input very important information for human life. In order to explore the mechanism of perception caused by compliance (hardness or softness), it is necessary to collect and examine the phenomena that occur along the way, including physical reactions. The goal of our study is to investigate whether social perception and behavior are influenced by the sensation of a human finger using the haptic interface device. In this paper as the pretest of a haptic interface device, psychological experiments whether touching softball or hardball is influence on social perception and behavior of people are duplicated. STUDY1 using only the index finger showed that information of a reaction force acted on a human finger has no influence on others impression and has influence on social behavior.  In STUDY2 with grasping the ball while collecting the surface electromyogram signals of the skin using sEMG sensors, the grasping ball\u27s stiffness had influence on others impression and social behavior. This knowledge could be expected as a fundamental technology that improves the ease of use of a haptic interface and enables remote exchange of sensory information. </p&gt

    Get PDF
International community has been traditionally focusing on physical threats to facilities and pass by the threat of a cyber attack on a facility. All the same, due to the growing threat posed by cyber attacks; cyber security is becoming indispensable component of nuclear facilities and it is setting up itself as a main concern for facility operators and national regulators. Consequently, ensuring the security of nuclear facilities is a considerable element, which gears at avoiding theft of nuclear materials and sabotage. For that reason, this paper was set to examine impact of cyber threats to nuclear facility. Specifically, the paper has examined cyber threats, cyber threats to nuclear facility, impact of cyber threats to nuclear facility. It is concluded that cyber threat to nuclear facility is growing despite numerous effort taken to offset the problem. Thus, there is a need either to design or improve available cyber threat mitigation procedure in order to tone down the problem

Towards Cable Parallel Robot Simulation for Control End Effector Position

    Get PDF
In this paper, we present a Graphical User Interface (GUI) simulator that has been developed using robust generalize predictive control. The proposed control technique is used for dealing with linear system uncertainties. The main contribution of this work is firstly: a graphical user interface has been developed and implemented based on geometric model , in order to, control the position of the end effector with several spatial tests. Secondly, we study the response of differential equations for our system with the proposed control for different trajectories in order to test the accurate tracking of the robot for desired trajectory simulation using MATLAB/Simulink. The Simulation results are carried out to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the strategy outlined here

A Prototyped NL-Based Approach for the Design of Multidimensional Data Warehouse

    Get PDF
Organizations are more and more interested in the Data Warehouse (DW) technology and data analytics to base their decision-making processes on scientific arguments instead of intuition. Despite the efforts invested, the DW design issue remains a great challenging research domain. The design quality of the DW depends on several aspects, as the requirement gathering. In this context, we propose a Natural Language (NL) based design approach, which is twofold, first, it facilitates the involvement of the decision-makers in the DW design process; indeed, NL can encourage the decision-makers to express their requirements as English-like sentences conform to NL-templates. Secondly, our approach aims to generate semi-automatically a DW schema from a set of requirements gathered as analytical queries compliant to the NL-templates. This design approach relies on (i) two easy-to-use NL-templates to specifying the analysis components, and (ii) a set of five heuristic rules for extracting the multidimensional concepts from the requirements. We demonstrate the feasibility of our approach by developing the prototype Natural Language Decisional Requirements to DW Schema (NLDR2DWS)

    Get PDF
Developments in Information technology has made rapid changes in the traditional teaching and learning methods in organizations, such as higher education institutions. This new method of teaching and learning is enabled mainly through Learning Management Systems. Issues in effective implementation and management of such systems have drawn the attention of many researchers. However, LMS success research still lacks particularly in the Sri Lankan higher education context. Hence, the purpose of this research was to examine the success of e-Learning systems in the Sri Lankan higher education context. The conceptual model was tested by fitting it to data collected from undergraduate students using learning management systems. This was the first study to test a multidimensional e-Learning systems success model (DeLone and McLean’s, 2003, IS success model) in the Sri Lankan context. Of the quality dimensions considered, quality of the information/content provided by the system was the most influential. Student satisfaction had the largest effect size on benefits to students. This study provides meaningful insights particularly relevant to e-Learning implementers in higher education in Sri Lanka
