Comparative Evaluation of The Microhardness of Artificial Teeth of Various Composition
Statement of the problem: To help physicians choose the right materials for treatment planning, it is necessary to investigate to the mechanical and physical characteristics of denture teeth made with new technology.
Objective: This study aims to investigate the comparative microhard-ness of artificial teeth with different composition.
Materials & Methods: A total of 96 specimens (n=32) were prepared us-ing three different types of artificial teeth (conventional polymethylmethacry-late, , and nanohybrid composite) (Group CA - Conventional PMMA, Group IS - Isosite Group DCL - double cross-linked acrylic). Surface hardness values were determined using a microhardness tester (Shimadzu HMV Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) with a load of 500 g and a dwell time of 15 seconds. Three inden-tations were obtained for each sample and the Vickers Hardness Number (VHN) was calculated and averaged. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc Tukey HSD tests were used for statistical analysis. The statistical significance level of the data was taken as α=0.05.
Results: The highest microhardness values were observed in Group IS (53.96 ± 8.5 VHN) and the lowest in Group CA (53.55±9.9 VHN). However, no statistically significant difference was found between the groups (P>0.05).
Conclusions: For the durability and function of prosthetic rehabilita-tions performed by clinicians, the choice of artificial teeth should not be ig-nored, based on cost and accessibility criteria
Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 3-benzyl-2-[bis(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)methyl]thiophene
In the title compound, C20H18N2S, the asymmetric unit comprises two similar molecules (A and B). In molecule A, the central thiophene ring makes dihedral angles of 89.96 (12) and 57.39 (13)° with the 1H-pyrrole rings, which are bent at 83.22 (14)° relative to each other, and makes an angle of 85.98 (11)° with the phenyl ring. In molecule B, the corresponding dihedral angles are 89.49 (13), 54.64 (12)°, 83.62 (14)° and 85.67 (11)°, respectively. In the crystal, molecular pairs are bonded to each other by N—H⋯N interactions. N—H⋯π and C—H⋯π interactions further connect the molecules, forming a three-dimensional network. A Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that H⋯H (57.1% for molecule A; 57.3% for molecule B), C⋯H/H⋯C (30.7% for molecules A and B) and S⋯H/H⋯S (6.2% for molecule A; 6.4% for molecule B) interactions are the most important contributors to the crystal packing

Investigation of The Effects of Twist Angle On Wing Performance and Stall Characteristics In Low-Speed Wings
One of the most notable features expected from the wings used in airplanes is that they allow an
economical flight. In addition, wings must contribute to the provision of a safe flight in terms of their
structural features. Therefore, studies on improving the performance of wings are increasing day by day.
In these studies, performance analysis is carried out by changing the incidence angle from the root to the
tip without changing the airfoil structure of the wing. However, it has been observed that the effect of
the twist angle on the performance and flow separations of the wings used in low-speed aircraft has not
been sufficiently examined or the research have not been compiled in a regular format. It is known that
changing the angle of incidence along the wing, that is, twist of the wing, increases the lift stability along
the wing and improves the stall characteristics of the wing. In this review, for the reasons, it is aimed to
investigate the effects of twist angle on wing performance, flow separation and stall characteristics of
wings used in low-speed aircraft
Orthodontics in an online community: A computational analysis of r/Braces subreddit
ABSTRACT
Backround
This study aimed to analyze the semantic network and content analyses of the posts published in a subreddit related to orthodontic treatment on Reddit (Advance Publications, Inc., San Francisco, California).
Methods
The eight threads in the r/Braces subreddit were divided into two categories: 1) “treatment process” (Braces are off!!!, Braces progress, Before and after!, and Day 1!) and 2) “question/problem” (Question, Discussion!, Need advice! and Rant!). For both categories, a semantic network analysis was performed using the Leximancer software (Leximancer Pty Ltd., Brisbane, Australia). In addition, the quality of the posts published in the “question” thread and the usefulness of the replies provided to these questions (useful, misleading, or neutral) were analyzed.
Results
Seven themes (braces, teeth, months, day, worth, started, and result) that mostly emphasized orthodontic treatment and treatment duration were elicited from the “treatment process” category, and seven themes (teeth, orthodontist, braces, week, bands, brush, and extractions) that mostly emphasized orthodontic treatment, orthodontists, and time were elicited from the “question/problem” category. It was also revealed that users voted on the posts related to the “treatment process” category and moved the posts to the list of top posts on the platform. In the “question” thread, 47.79% of the posts asked for advice and 21.11% of them were related to failures. In addition, 69% of the replies were categorized as “useful.”
Conclusions
Reddit is a successful data mining platform, and the users provide highly useful replies to the questions posted on Reddit regarding orthodontic treatment
The Effects of Whole-Body Vibration Training on Trunk Muscle Strength: A Narrative Review
Mechanical vibration can improve neuromuscular function through postural control strategies, muscle tonic mechanisms, and tonic vibration reflexes. Whole body vibration (WBV) has also been announced to increase bone mineral density, muscle endurance and strength, as well as to enhance proprioceptive system. Moreover, WBV training was found to be a constructive strategy for improving the physical performance of elite athletes and healthy individuals in terms of muscle strength, agility, flexibility, and vertical jump height. Although there is still no consensus in research in this area, it is argued that certain molecular mechanisms involved in the physiological adaptations of exercise also emerge during WBV training. Clarifying these physiological mechanisms is crucial for optimizing the effectiveness of WBV trainings. Previous studies have examined the effects of WBV and have indicated developments in muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, muscle cross sectional area, bone mineral density and body composition. However, no standard prescription has been established to optimize the effects of WBV, including the determination of vibration frequency and amplitude. In addition, the majority of previous studies have investigated the effects of WBV training on the extremities. There are few publications investigating its effectiveness on trunk and core muscle strength, which is one of the important indicators of athletic performance. Therefore, we conducted a narrative review of the literature, referring to the Cochrane Library and Medline databases, to summarize the most recent scientific evidence on the effects of whole-body vibration on trunk muscle strength. This narrative review concludes that at least 8 weeks of WBV training is more effective on trunk muscle strength than those performing the same exercises without WBV
