The Influence of Agile Management Processes on Risk Management and Performance: Case UAE Construction Sector
With the rapid and dynamic nature of construction projects in recent years, risk management has become highly important to navigate through the uncertainties that come with construction projects. however, the traditional approach has not been keeping up with these changes, and that can be noticed from the performance of the construction projects in recent years since cost and time overrun have been recurring problems in the construction sector. Agile management has risen in the IT sector as a substitute for traditional management, to introduce flexibility to the project and enhance the delivery of the project. The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of agile management processes on risk management and project performance of construction projects in the UAE. To understand the implications of agile management on risk management and project performance in construction projects, a number of online interviews have been conducted to assess agile management principles' impact on risk management. The interview responses have all agreed to the positive influence of agile management on risk management and project performance. after analyzing the data, a framework has been proposed consisting of agile determinants to address and manage risks and enhance construction project performance
Exploring the role of co-production in enhancing happiness and well-being in the UAE
The aim of this research is to discover the views, practices and advice of experienced employees and citizens on how co-production can enhance happiness and well-being. The global challenges led governments all over the world to believe in the role of co-production in providing effective public services for citizens to increase their happiness and well-being. However, the literature of co-production as a factor for happiness and well-being has not been given much attention and remains limited or confined to certain factors such as wealth, health, and employment. The study applied a qualitative method utilising semi-structured interviews with 35 participants. The sample was divided into two groups. The first group consisted of the employees from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) who already managed some co-production practices. The second group was the citizens who have already experienced the co-production process with the (MOI). The data analysis was accomplished using Nvivo. The research found that there is a strong belief in the role of co-production in enhancing the levels of happiness and well-being. In addition, the findings revealed that there is a need for a comprehensive strategy for co-production with a set of skills that co-producers should have. The thesis also sheds light on the benefits of co-production, such as enhancing innovation and maintaining sustainability. Moreover, the thesis identified some challenges and barriers that can limit co-production. This thesis can contribute to knowledge by presenting a conceptual framework for co-production and suggest a practical set of required skills of co-production to be considered by public organizations
Investigating the perceptions of undergraduate nursing students of their clinical learning experience and readiness for clinical practice in the UAE context.
A supportive clinical practice environment is crucial to improve nursing students’ engagement in clinical practice and enhance both their clinical skills and satisfaction with their learning experiences. The purpose of this study is to investigate undergraduate nursing student’s perceptions of their clinical learning experience, effective teaching methods, and their readiness for clinical practice. A sequential explanatory mixed method case study design was used in this study. In the quantitative study, a convenience sample of 217 year three and year four nursing students volunteered to participate in this study. In the qualitative study, the researcher employed the purposeful sampling technique to select a total of thirteen year three and year four nursing students in the UAE. Data collection was achieved by a questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis of nursing study plans and student clinical evaluation reports. The study concluded that peer support, availability of learning opportunities, and competence, supervision, and guidance of clinical instructors facilitated the clinical practice of students. However, the gap between theory and practice, high clinical instructor-to-student ratio, high study load, an inadequate collaboration between clinical instructors and preceptors, and unfavorable clinical rotation were barriers to clinical practice. Moreover, the study revealed that many students were not fully ready for clinical practice. As most of the factors that could affect the clinical practice of students have been identified, it is recommended that administrators introduce changes to the management of clinical and laboratory courses in terms of clinical rotations, sequencing pattern of courses, number of students and resources in laboratories, and co-requisite requirements for clinical courses. Besides, clinical instructors are required to be supportive of students, acknowledge their achievements, engage them regularly in reflective practices, ask critical thinking questions, use formative assessment to identify learning needs rather than to grade student performance, and collaborate with preceptors and nurse managers
Developing future managers through business simulation gaming in the UK and Hong Kong: exploring the interplay between cognitive realism, decision-making and performance
Purpose– This paper investigates how individuals’ decision-making approach and perceptions of a game’s
cognitive realism affect the performance of virtual businesses in a web-based simulation game.
Design/methodology/approach–Surveydataarecollectedfrom274businesssimulationgameusersandis
analysed using the fsQCA technique.
Findings– The study identifies three alternative pathways to high and low performance in a business
simulation game. Results indicate that a flexible decision-making approach exists in all high performance
pathway solutions. Where a game is perceived to be realistic, a more focused decision-making approach is
associated with high performance. However, where perceived cognitive realism is absent, a less focused
experimental decision-making approachis employed, whichincreasesthechancestoachievelow performance.
Finally, perceived cognitive realism and an experimental decision-making approach are found to be mutually
exclusive for achieving high performance.
Originality/value– Whilst the learning benefits of web-based simulation games are widely acknowledged,
the complex interplay amongst factors affecting performance in games is under-researched. Limited research

Determining the predictive importance of the core dimensions of nation brands
Purpose– Informed by the resource-based and resource-advantage theories, this study, a comparative study, aims to examine the core dimensions
of nation brands– culture, tourism, exports, foreign direct investment, migration and governance– from the company-based brand equity
perspective in a sample of 48 countries clustered into three groups (strong, moderate and weak nation brands) from 2011 to 2019 to identify the
most critical predictors of nation brand strength in each cluster.
Design/methodology/approach– A clustering technique was applied to the modified Country Brand Index to cluster the included countries into
strong, moderate and weak nation brands. The authors were then able to analyze each cluster in an effort to explore the relative importance of the
predictor variables and determine if that importance varied across the clusters.
Findings– This approach revealed novel findings of great importance to policymakers and academics. The results indicate the resources that
contribute the most to nation brand equity in each cluster. Such information can guide policymakers in effectively leveraging these strategic
resources. First, the cultural dimension was a more critical predictor concerning countries with moderate and weak nation brands than countries
with strong brands. Second, tourism exhibited the highest predictive importance concerning all the clusters. For academics, these findings help
foster a better understanding of the determinants of nation brand strength, as aligned with the resource-based and resource-advantage theories.
Originality/value– The findings of this study contribute to the literature concerning nation brand management, particularly the stream related to
nation brand equity monetization
Does human capital mediate the relationship between digital competence and service innovation capability? Evidence from the UAE Service innovation capability during covid-19 pandemic
Purpose– The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between digital competence and the
capability to innovate in the service sector and examine if this relationship is mediated by human capital in
the context of COVID-19pandemic.
Design/methodology/approach– Using a cross-sectional survey, data were collected from 188 service
sector professionals in the United Arab Emirates. Data were analyzed using partial least square-based
structural equation modeling.
Findings– The findings of partial least square based structural equation modeling analysis indicate that
there is a significant positive relationship between digital competence and the capacity to innovate in the
service sector, which is partially mediated by human capital.
Originality/value– This studycontributes to knowledge by offering an understanding of the relationship
between digital competence and innovation capability, especially in uncertain situations. This study also
notes the importance ofhumancapitalas astrategic resourcefor innovation.

The interplay of skills, digital financial literacy, capability, and autonomy in f inancial decision making and well-being
Covid-19 and the unprecedented surge in financial technology contributed to unexpected financial challenges, affecting the relevance of
f
inancial decision making and perceived financial well-being. This paper examines the mediating effects of digital financial literacy, financial
autonomy, financial capability, and impulsivity on financial decision making and perceived financial well-being. The data come from 512 re
spondents in Delhi/NCR (National Capital Region), India, using a snowball-sampling technique and partial least squares structural equation
modeling to test 13 structural hypotheses with SmartPLS3.3. Partial least squares (PLS) prediction is employed to estimate the out-of-sample
predictive power of the proposed model. Our findings reveal that skills directly affect financial decision making and perceived financial well
being, and digital financial literacy emerges as a direct and mediating predictor of financial decision making. The dominance of financial
capability and financial autonomy as mediators in financial decision making and financial well-being become more evident, and impulsivity fails
to have mediating effects on financial decision making. The results have academic, regulatory, and managerial implications, all of which calls for
more concerted efforts at recognizing the unique interaction among skills—financial decision making—perceived financial well-being, the cu
mulative effect of which enhances the critical ability to deal with environmental challenges, manage socioeconomic pressures in a sustainable
manner, and translate the benefits into prudent gender-specific policy decisions and practices
Artificial Intelligence based Chatbot for promoting Equality in High School Advising
The sustainable development goal 4 (SDG4) aims to
“ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote
lifelong learning opportunities for all”. Therefore, researchers
are inspired to study the fairness and equality in different
aspects of education. Some studies are focused on social and
academic initiatives and others on developing state-of-the-art
technology to enhance the education between students equally.
Henceforth, in this paper a novel affordable chatbot
implemented by using a neural network model and natural
language processing (NLP) to assist students in high schools
particularly, since high school is one of the most essential
stages in students’ lives, as in this stage, students have the
option to select their academic streams and advanced courses
that can shape their career with their passions and interests.
The dataset in this study collected from different academic
resources such as schools & universities websites, schools’
advisers, parents and students. It includes (968) pairs of
enquiries and tags. The first column represents the student’s
enquiry; the second column indicates the tag or the class of
each sentence. The model built by connecting the input data
into embedding layer, and then the data fed into the LSTM
layer with different number of neurons, then authors used
sigmoid function for the output layer. The result in this study
shows that the performance of the chatbot is improved by
increasing the number of neurons from 5 to 8, the model
achieved high accuracy ratio with score (96.5%). In future the
model will be developed with stacked LSTM layers with using
softmax activation function in the output layer, as different
classes will be added as well in the dataset

SEM-machine learning-based model for perusing the adoption of metaverse in higher education in UAE
The metaverse is an imaginary network of parallel universes. Using this technology might liven
up dull lecture halls. By expanding synchronous communication into the "metaverse," many individuals may have meaningful conversations and exchange perspectives. This research focuses
on finding out how medical students in the UAE feel about the metaverse system. The conceptual
model incorporates elements from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), including perceived value and perceived ubiquity as adoption determinants. To test the validity of the suggested
framework, a survey was developed and distributed to 369 full-time students at one of the universities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Machine learning (ML) and structural equation model ing using partial least squares (PLS-SEM) are used for data analysis. According to the results, the
extent to which users saw value in and adoption of the metaverse system was a significant factor
in whether or not they intended to participate. This study was helpful since it elucidated the relative significance of various healthcare components, allowing professionals to prioritize their efforts better
